Well not sure , but i hear Diamond Bar is in the hunt for the Sierra league title after beating Damien a couple of nights ago….Go Brahmas!

  • glendora vs. ayala.

well tomorrow Glendora vs. ayala is for the Sierra league title at Glendora. if glendora wins they win Sierra league. two evenly matched teams goingto be close. ayala is 4-0 and Glendora is 3-1. Glendora beat chino last week 50-21. and chino barely lost to ayala so will be the best match around or the Sierra league title

Big Congrats to the West Covina Girls Wrestling Team for winning the state title in Hanford, they fought long & hard & won the war, Fred I think they deserve a story to help promote girls wrestling in southern California…..Thanks!

  • How much bigger can it get!!!

With a lot of league titles decided with big rival duals the last two weeks, it looks like the Glendora/Ayala match up for the Sierra League title tomorrow night is it. These two decided it just like this last year with Ayala coming out on top. However, this will be at Glendora, so I would have to give the slight edge to the Tartans!

HOW FUNNY(FRED),, THE SPORTS WRITER ASKING US WHAT DUALS TO SEND YOUR CAMERAS, MAYBE YOU SHOULD GET INTOUCH WITH YOUR FELLOW WRITER AT THE PRESS-TELEGRAM TO SCHOOL YOU IN HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING, OR BETTER YET YOU SHOULD READ THE ARTCLE HE WROTE ON HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING. IT SOUNDS TO ME THAT THE ONLY REASON YOU ARE PUTTING WRESTLING IN, THE PRESSURE FROM THE FANZ GOT TO YOUR BOSS, YOU SEE FRED, YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE BOYZ AND GIRLZ WHO DO THIS SPORT, DO IT CAUSE THEY LUV IT, AND THEY DO IT EVEN IF THERE SCHOOL DOES NOT GIVE THEM ANY PROPS, THEY DO IT EVEN KNOWING THEY HAVE TO WAKE UP AT 5:30 AM TO GET READY FOR WGHT-INS, AND NOT EATING THE NIGHT BEFORE TO MAKE WGHT AND MAYBE NOT COMING BACK HOME UNTIL 8:00PM, AND THEN COMING BACK THE FOLLOWING WEEK AND DOING IT ALL OVER. SO I THINK YOU CAN SHOW A LITTLE EFFORT.

A joke, right? Dual meets, with a couple of exceptions, are done, over, fini. League meets start Saturday. You’re asking us where to send your cameras? How about your offices to find out if anyone is there. We know, we know, things are tight, no staff, no money, no space for local stories on local people. Hell, they might want to buy a paper to read about themselves, instead of over paid and over praised pros and big time colleges in the far corners of the country. Your management wants to know how to connect with us. Duh, writing about us would be a good start.

No problem, it’s nothing personal against wrestling, it’s just we don’t have the manpower to cover all the big duals, so we concentrate (when we can) on tournaments, like the Damien tournament, and girls state tournament at Northview a couple weeks back. In addition to that Steve Ramirez has been writing weekly notebooks on wrestling since January to wrap-up what we couldn’t cover and to preview the next big matches and duals. Every year we tend to zero in on the CIF duals finals, CIF prelims, CIF finals, Masters and the State meet, and this year will be no different. I would compare it to track, we rarely cover head-to-head track meets, we focus on the bigger events throughout the season like Covina, Arcadia and Mt. SAC, then the biggies at the end of the season. I understand you want more coverage, I wanted more boys tennis coverage when I played three years in high school, but I understood when it came down to a big baseball game or tennis match, the newspaper was going to cover baseball nine times out of ten.
