Girls Basketball: Bonita jumps back to No. 2 after win over Walnut; Dranch-Bonita on Friday

Girls Basketball top ten
1. Diamond Ranch (19-2)
— The only drama before CIF is what happens in the rematch on Friday with Bonita visiting the Ranch.
2. Bonita (20-2) – No matter what happens, this has been a great season for them. Think about next year, Diamond Ranch, Bonita and Walnut all in the same “Hacienda” league.
3. Bishop Amat (17-5) – Tied with Serra for first in the Del Rey. Not as strong as teams in the past, but another solid season regardless.
4. Walnut (17-4) – Nine game win streak snapped in nonleague loss to Bonita, 51-47.
5. South Hills (15-5) – They beat the teams they’re supposed to beat, but lose to the teams they’re supposed to lose.
6. Glendora (17-5) — Beat rival St. Lucy’s, but lost to Ayala. Still, in pretty good spot in the Sierra.
7. Sierra Vista (13-5) – Pound-for-pound, they play as hard as anyone, and that recipe has worked for years.
8. Rosemead (15-5) – They own the middle part of the San Gabriel Valley, and should have the MVL wrapped up by the end of the week.
9. St. Lucy’s (13-7) – They have a good shot at finishing third, but will need a couple more big wins.
10. Covina 15-7 — Who would have thought the Colts would start 6-0 in the VVL?
