Monday Boxscores: Workman’s Miles-Serrano scores 26 to lead Lobos past La Puente, 56-54

It’s been 26 years since the Workman High School boys basketball team won back-to-back league championships. The Lobos took a major step toward ending that streak Monday, albeit by the thinnest of margins. Senior Bobby Miles-Serrano scored 26 points and Ivan Bernardino had 14 and Workman took control of the Montview League race by surviving a scare from rival La Puente in a 56-54 victory.

the story is wrong. workman last won back to back league championships in 02 and 03.

  • sgvpride

yeah you trib people please get your facts right. Boomer is correct they won it in 02 and 03. You guys lose all crediability. I would like to know where you get your information from?

  • boomer

since winning back to back titles in 02 and 03, workman has always been in the hunt for the title, with the exception of the 05 and 06 season when they were rebuilding. but the lobos always end up either in 1st or 2nd place in the montview league. 07 and 08, they finished a game behind la puente for the title, in 04, they finished a game behind i believe sierra vista.

This is probably one of the best mentions of this topic I’ve seen in quite a while. It’s obvious that your knowledge of the subject is deep and this made for a very interesting read.
