In Boys soccer at Damien Wednesday, at Damien high school, Chino Hills stayed atop the Sierra league by beating the Spartans 2-0. Ricky Urrutia scored off a corner kick from Cesar Pompa Guerrero to give the huskies a 1-0 half-time lead , and it was Pompa-Guerrero, that finished a Kris Korich cross for the 2-0 final. The win gives Chino Hills 6-1, 11-6-4, a half game lead on Glendora 5-1-1, who played Diamond Bar 5-3 , while Damien fell to 0-5-1, 5-8-6. (To continue reading, click thread)

In the Sierra league game of the night at Damien High School, The Chino Hills Huskies Boys Basketball team took on the second place Spartans and came away with a hard fought 63-41 victory.
Led by Sophomore Chris Reyes, the Spartans played tough defense and behind his 11 first half points (he finished with 18), trailed the #1 Ranked (CIFSS 1-A div) Huskies by only 4 points at halftime, holding the High scoring Chino Hills offense to only 1 field goal in the 2nd quarter.
In the third quarter, the Huskies started to find their rhythm and held a 38-31 third quarter lead, but in the 4 th quarter the shooters for Chino Hills started to come alive and behind Derek Brown’s 8 points, (he finished with 15) the Huskies went on a 20-5 run, and never looked back.
The win extends Chino Hills’ wining streak to 15 games and they improved to 6-0 and 22-2, while Damien fell to 4-3, and 16-7. Both teams will be in action this Friday night, Chino Hills will host Glendora and Damien travels to Chino.
