In the Huddle, Aram on San Dimas: Is this for real, or are we looking at the next Covina?

“The question I want to know now is this just a good two- or three-year run, or should we start making room on the Valley’s mantle of top-flight football programs?” — Aram

Covina with McDonough would have crushed San Dimas and Paraclete

    ColtsPower:

That’s not the question. The question being asks is if San Dimas going to have just three good years than back to what it was previously? Or are they in the midst of an upward spiral?

I believe the latter because of what he accomplished at Northview, and basicaly he’s doing the same thing, with the same offense and very similar kids.
The chronology of what he did at Northview and what Z is doing at San Dimas is very similar, the exception being that he’s won a CIF-title at San Dimas.

  • Born and Raised SGV

No one in the VVL can have a run at back to back titles, unless the first was with a ton of soph and juniors. Each school will have thier time if they have a good program. However we dont atract the players from other areas like AMAT, SH and CO. From what I saw last year, SD will have a strong team. I see a little (not much) drop from BP. Northview should get stronger. Covina (IMO) will be the biggest improved team by far with 6 soph starting last year. Not McD good but good enough to start a solid run for th next 2 years.

    aram.i like your name
    i was a ram to .t.c 1977-78 cif champs
and you better do your home work now.bonita is loading with returning almost all of there team,
last year was the craziest year ever at bonta.all of there key players at some time where on the dl.we put it together the last two games of the season, should of pulled 0ut sh game. tied 21 to 21 with 5 to go.thats ok,that game will make the season this year.we will go undeated this up coming season, on paper we are the team to beat.coach podley and staff will get to take a back seat and let the boys bring home the gold.if we come out of the gate with a losing effort, they then should makes some changes.but i like the coaching staff style, they work hard.this is bonita highs big year.so aram dont be like your partner and chance amat all year, you have acouple kids that got hurt that should be all league even before season starts.do your home work and you too, will predict like me. bearcat season to loss.nice talking to you k.h

MCD didnt make the team at Citrus! Goes to show, college is a little different than HS. JC football is California is recruited by alot of colleges across the nation.

Hey Kh, can you please tell me all the star players you have coming back next year for Bonita. Didn’t their running back and Quarteback and several linmen graduate?

  • Some Info

    Aram,Steve,Fred

Here a scary stat for you guys…

Over the last four years, SD has put up 19,596 of total offense with 15,107 being rushing yards! Wow! When you put up these kind of numbers, good things happen.

Being that they truly don’t recruit and build from within, they had done a great job!

Not sure why anyone would feel the need to bash a great high school player. Great being what he did against the competition in front of him and the lasting impression he make on those that remember him. Mc Donough won back to back POY awards. How many players can say that? Futhermore, both wins were met with overwhelming approval by those that judged him objectively. To illustrate how remarkable a high school player he was even in a sub par game for him he still was able to earn the All Star MVP. Who are you comparing when you say he couldn’t cut it at the jc level? The starting QB was a D1 bounce back who was 6’4″, maybe 6’5″ and had a cannon for an arm. Look at Bronze Withem from San Dimas who probably took a back seat to Hile and Pasalo, at the time the “big” high school SGV LB names, and yet neither would have accomplished what Bronze did at Citrus. Same goes for Kevin Encinas who will join Withem at their next level school yet graduated in 2005? In JC Football sometimes it’ about fit and sometimes it’s about topping out…who’s to say? Coaches play a huge role in a player’s development or lack thereof. One thing I do know is McD is part of SGV/Covina and CIF history…and his haters are not. Best of luck bagging on a player who’s still on “your” mind, after three years, while he doesn’t even care who you are, just like everyone else. Happy Valentine’s Day Loser !

    bearcat who.
well the one all league will be the big off lime man.hes going to be a good strong player this year, the other is casey the other middle linebacker he was having a pretty good start then got hurt plus he should be running back punts and kick offs.am not talking about my son k.c this casey has a brother on the team, were stacked.i cant wait to really seat back, and have some fun.and the qb is back and we have plenty of running backs, not a problem,we have good two sport stars players on the team,

MCD didnt cut it in the classroom, out of the classroom or on the field at Citrus. Didnt beat out anybody out at any position you want to talk about. QB, LB, Saftey …

get a clue and quit livin in the past.
