What a game! LA beats LP in PK’s,4-5! The game was very close! Both teams had numerous opportunities! It was tough to see such a good game end in PK’s, but someone had to win and someone had to loss!

  • WHO WON ???

Fred you’re a Soccer Guy first and foremost and NO SCORES ??

    DUDE !!!

  • LA Grad

Great to see that LA get past 1st round. Disappointed that more scores are not up here. Does anyone know how Baldwin Park or Dia Ranch did? I hear Bishop Amat lost as did Wilson.

  • WHO WON???

    HOW ABOUT NORTHVIEW?

  • LA Grad

Where are the scores for other teams from the area? How has Baldwin Park and Dia Ranch done? Los Altos beat LP in PK’s. La Mirada beat Bishop Amat and Wilson lost to Corona del Mar.

The three surviving area boys teams in Division 4 are all at home Tuesday, but had better check with their travel agents if they win those games. If Los Altos tops Santa Monica, they could get Laguna Hills or Channel Islands (Ventura) in the quarters Thursday. A Diamond Ranch win over North Torrance might earn them a trip to Hueneme or Norwalk (at least still in LA County). And, Sierra Vista’s triumph over Cathedral could have them on the road to Corona del Mar or Carpenteria. Of course, the CIF scheduling gods could also keep one, two or all three locals at home again. Anyone like to bet on that happening?

Glendora is on fire. A goal in the first 10 seconds, two goals by a defender. A thoroughly dominant game by the Tartans over Eastside.

The soccer pre-flip results for possible quarterfinal matchups are already posted at cifss.org.

I see that Salesian beat up on Northview 8-1. Did anyone see that game? The possible semi-final rematch between Salesian and BP would be a classic. But Salesian will have to get through San Gorgonio then maybe the hottest team in Division V right now, La Canada!!!

The lower half of the Division V bracket seems weaker. Both seeds struggled. #2 Hesperia needs PKs to win over a wild card and #3 Animo wins 2-1 against a 4th place team.

Valle Vista and PAC-7 advance three teams to 2nd round in D V!

Last year Salesian’s Head Coach came on here and said he saw Baldwin Park as Champions very soon. He congratulated them on their great effort, fan support and courage and wished them well. This year Baldwin Park is primed to see their Championship aspirations come true and I believe that game played a role in this season’s outstanding production. Best of luck to them. Northview came to Salesian and was beaten 8-1 but the Northview players played better than the score indicates. Salesian is a former State Champion and back to back CIF Champion and they conducted themselves as such. This year our road is ever more difficult but we look forward to doing our best, and as always playing like Champions! Best of luck to all of love the beautiful game.
