My top four go like this.

    Glendora
San Dimas- just due to them being in the finals last year
Bonita-pitching is going to be key for them
South Hills- great infield, pitching, and hitting; the only question is what the outfield lineup is going to be

    Sh fan,

You keep talking about having great pitching and its yet to be seen. Both pitchers are average at best think about it? great for the San Antonio but not for the big leagues.

I like Bonita to takes it’s league, two great pitchers in the circle. Earlybird dont know what you mean for big leagues this is High shcool and that’s why, they are good high school pitchers..and I think SH’s will be very good this year great sticks and defense..

“great sticks and defense” updater your absolutely correct but pitching?Lets face it The San Antonio is not the strongest of leagues in softball at least admit that.Take a look at the SH schedule it looks a little soft to me for-instance the Duarte Tourney is a weak tournament.

The top five are easy after that is anyones guess.

San Dimas- will face bonita on tuesday
Bonita- will face SD on tuesday
Glendora- Best coach in the area tough schedule should pay divs.
South Hills- Good team on the verge of being great?
Charter Oak- Team can flat out rake!

Everybody just keep looking past L.A. Toughest schedule in the valley to go along with the best player and returnees with experience in some big games not to mention a key transfer. They are young but hungry and got a chip on their shoulder. Dangerous combo when you play with nothing to lose. Dont be surprised if sh is upset tomorrow.

It may look like the toughtest schedule on paper right now but check back in a week.Bonita starts the season off with bang and has the possibility of facing 4-cif finalist 2-quarter finalist and 2-champions all in a nine day period.Check out who they play with most of them returning top pitchers.

Marymount-cif champs 24-4 they play tomorrow
San Jacinto-cif quarters 18-6 they play tomorrow
    JW North- game on saturday
Aquinas 22-4 lost to torrance first round, if they can navigate the top schedule.

San Dimas cif finalist 25-5 they play on Tuesday
West Covina possibly on thursday San Anonio chps
Glendora cif finalist 22-5 possibly on friday
Etiwanda cif champs possibly on saturday.Even half of that schedule is tough no gimmies in this line up my friend.

Cowboy you have to understand that yes I do agree with you in Bonita tough schedule, but LA will start out with SH who I beleive can win this game with there sticks and defence. CG cant win this game by herself and we all know that..but she will be a huge assett to LA sucsess this year..LA had some youngster on the team that helped out big time and they had a tough schedule last year and with a tough one this year..you have to understand the Michelle Carew Classic tourney will alone be toucher then anybody in the San Dimas tourney!! You have nothing but alot of OC teams that comepete at a high level!! that was one of the best things LA’s coaches could’ve have done..Cowboy you pointed out Bonita tough schedule but dont count the what if’s or maybe that team they might play..I do hope Bonita does well and I think they should win league but like what the other poster said dont look past LA.. I know there pitcher is gone and I believe you have to have a good one to compete in High school ball and Bonita has them, good luck to Bonita and LA..by the way who is the coaching staff over there at LA? does anybody no?

I forgot to mention former pitcher from BA Amy and Shore from San Dimas beat #3 UCLA 3-2 at UCLA home field. Great accomplishment from a small school..DLP went 0-3 playing 2nd base with one put out. I’m glad she’s playing different position she such a utilty player and a great pitcher when she does pitch..

Lydell Mccullough = head coach… DLPs’ father was assistant last year but not sure if he is coming back. LM really knows how to get the best out of the girls. Has a done a great job since taking over for Gano. Cant wait to see how well he gets this team prepared day in and day out for the type of competition they will be facing. As long as these young girls keep games competitive and understand they wont be able to win them all, the next couple years will be very interesting…

    cowboybob:

With the team coming back that Bonita has and the type of talent that ends up at that school a schedule like theres should be a regular occurence. I hope they end up playing Etiwanda (#6 in the country if im not mistaken) on saturday and play a competitive game. Those are the ones that are great for the girls, great for the program, and if you win, great for the SGV. Good luck in tournament play. If you want to be considered great your schedule has to comply. I would take an 18 win tough schedule season over a 25 win soft schedule season any day. Running through inferior nonleague and league opponents does not prepare you for the playoffs. Especially when facing some of these schools in the O.C.

I think the LA vs.SH game is a better match up this year and will not be as one sided as last season.I expect an 8-7 game going to either team. Here at the home front Bonita is playing extremely well,CW is throwing the ball hard and dominating batters once again.FYI BHS played Etiwanda in a scrimmage early on this year. Both teams played the best 9 for six innings 2-2 tie after six finally both teams made some changes and Etiwanda ended up winning 4-2 in the seventh.Props to Etiwanda they have good pitching and a very deep line up but it was moral victory for Bonita the bottom line is somebody will play Etiwanda in the championship game next week that you can bet is a certainty. Good luck to LA and SH I really like both teams they are very good and similar in the pitching department buy I give a slight edge to South Hills.
