Glendora’s Adam Plutko dominant again, pitches four-hitter in 6-1 win over Damien

“You have to tip your hat (to Plutko),” Damien coach Al Leyva said. “He just did a great job. It was like I tell everybody, `Good pitching will beat good hitting any day of the week.’ And he got stronger as the game went on. “He’s a quality pitcher, and if he can continue to do that there’s going to be a lot of good things coming his way.

The Glendora High School baseball team didn’t want to begin its Sierra League schedule with two consecutive losses. Thanks to Adam Plutko, the Tartans won’t have to. The senior threw a four-hitter and struck out 13 and Glendora evened its league record at 1-1 with a 6-1 victory over visiting Damien on Tuesday.

Gabrielino takes early control of the Mission Valley, beats Arroyo, 6-4 victory.

Plutko was good for sure but the story of the game was the poor defense from damien and lack of any real stopper on the mound for the spartans. They need to find some pitching and find it fast! We got some bats I know that for sure. 3rd place this year??

Plutko did a fine job. He is a great pitcher. Damien did not help themselves, errors have hurt us the last two games. Damien at home vs Ayala on Friday.

Home opener at Tom Carroll field. He needs to give the boys a pep talk, cuz they’ve been asleep first 2 league games.

    Glendora is solid solid team.

Damien is in for a long season. 3rd place will be tough to attain. Glendora, Diamond BAr, Chino Hills, Damien, Chino, and Ayala.

Pitching is very average. They should go with more leftys especially against Glendora.
