Glendora dominant again, beats host Arcadia to win second tournament of the season

Glendora 10, Arcadia 2: They were exactly where Arcadia High School pitcher K.J. Edson wanted them. They were right where visiting Glendora wanted them, too. The Arcadia side-armed pitcher was inducing Glendora into hitting ground balls, but the grounders went right through the infield, just out of reach of the Apaches, for base hits. The Tartans put together four of those hits in the first inning and scored four runs en route to a 10-2 victory in the Apache Invitational championship game Thursday night.

Pasadena Poly 14, La Puente 2: Pasadena Poly’s Jordan Kutzer is a serious double threat, and La Puente High School’s baseball team learned that quickly. The 6-foot-6 junior allowed just two runs on five hits, struck out six, and went 4 for 4 at the plate to lead the Panthers to a dominating 14-2 nonleague victory Thursday.

Baseball Roundup: The Bishop Amat High School baseball team didn’t win the prestigious National Classic in Orange County, but the Lancers rebounded after a huge letdown in the quarterfinals to finish 3-1 in the tournament after defeating Salpointe of Arizona, 9-5, in a consolation game on Thursday at El Dorado High School.
