Fred you take to little into consideration when figuring your top ten.

Bonita-cruising in league but after losing in the first round to CH last season you would think the lefty curse would have been solved by now.

Glendora-Still a great team but 5-0 is still in the memory

West Covina-Beats the Regents Freds Quote ” best hitting team in the valley” come on Fred against who? It should read best hitter on the team DM

    South Hills-They still win

St Lucy’s-Good young team but one 11inning win don’t make you a top dog in the Valley. Stil owns a loss to WC & Rowland Did I say Rowland?

San Dimas-Back where they belong always comes back strong

Charter Oak-On the slide but can still beat anyone

North View- Its like a juggling act in the Valle Vista depends on who shows up?

    Los Altos-Still beats the rest

    Arroyo-Time will tell

  • hmmmmm

    Well, let’s get a look at this picture;

    1. Bonita record 19-2-1
    Glendora record 16-3

    2. Bonita losses: vs. Glendora, 5-2
    vs. St. Lucy’s, 2-1

    Bonita 3 Opponents 7

    Glendora losses: vs. Etiwanda, 3-1
    vs. Dana Hills 10-0
    vs. Bonita 5-0

    Glendora 1 Opponents 18

    3. And to quote Fred last week:

” 1. Bonita (17-1-1) — Absolutely and without question after not only beating Glendora, but handling them so easily.

    2. Glendora (13-3) — Nothing for the Tartans to be ashamed of, they still split with the Bearcats, and have bigger issues to worry about”

    4. Did I miss something???

  • Softball Fan

St.Lucy’s is a great tournament team, finishing third in Brea Olinda and winning against Charter Oak. They might have fared better in the Carew tournament had they not had to face Valencia. It’s unfortunate that they are off to an 0-4 start in the Sierra, otherwise they would go deep in the CIF playoffs. The key for them is to win their remaining games. They still have a shot — even though this week is going to be do or die against the best team in the Sierra.

Glendora is still lucky that the majority of umpires in the Sierra league are terrible, considering they allow illegal pitches. I know all of you are non-softball parents are going to say I’m all about sour grapes, but until their pitcher can legally drag her foot without planting twice (yes, this is the worst crow-hop I’ve seen in high school in many years), then I think you can make a case that Glendora is legitimate.

  • The Sierra League

Ayala is not only the best team in the Sierra league, but also #2 in Southern California behind Valencia.

    Dave,

Thanks for posting your listing. The strength of schedule is an important factor overlooked in Fred’s informal poll. It would be nice to see the won-loss records from your compilation, although I recognize the lists below your post show most of team records.
