Northview's Makaila Garcia belts two homers to lead Vikes to an 11-1 win over Covina

Just watched the best leadoff hitter in the Valley. With a determinted look and a swing that matched it, Makaila Garcia ended the game with a three-run homer to center to give Northview an 11-1 victory over visiting Covina in a mercy-shortened five-inning game. "I always have this little song in my head to keep me relaxed," Garcia explained. "But I'm not going to lie, I went up there thinking I wanted to end the game." After the first round of the Valle Vista league, San Dimas, Covina and Northview are all tied with 4-1 records. Garcia belted two homers, her fifth and sixth of the season in a 4-for-4 performance with four runs scored. She came into the game batting almost .600, and is one of the most imposing lead-off hitters I've seen in a while. Granted, it's just the first half of league and I haven't seen everyone, but I walked away today mighty impressed .

CO crushes LA WOW! maybe swap those two? but something tells me they come back to avenge the loss.
Hello?! Sierra League? Chino Hills(Innamorato), Ayala(Hall), Glendora(Argyle, Langdon), St. Lucy's(O'Toole)
Hey Fred. Why was Covina ranked number 3?
This year in particular seems like more of a hitters year. There isn't a league around here with more than one dominant pitcher in it..
I'm glad to see that the Valle Vista league is once again a bust this year. With the exception of San Dimas last year and Northview this year, that entire league has gone to the crapper. There is no way that Covina should have been ranked three in the valley. The rankings aren't always about record, Fred. Look at the overall team and see how they would compare with other teams.
Fred,
Its the Valle Vista remember no pitching in that league come on now be realistic when they face other teams from good leagues they all get pounced.
Covina is a young team. That play's hard.
Next year they will be one of the teams to beat.
What about the kid from nv?
he had a pretty impressive tournament(glendora)
he hit a blast of Cage in the glendora game....they say he can drag too?
Fred do you think we can get a article on the top lead off hitters in the sgv!?
Sorry Makaila i thought we were talking boys.Your AWESOME.
Jay Anderson @ Bishop Amat is the best leadoff hitter in the valley bar none..Having a sensational season.
That was the covina bubble bursting. Gee, where to rank them now? Valle Vista, probably one of the weakest league in the east valley.
