Bishop Amat beats powerful Lakewood 11-1 to capture Redondo tourney; McNitt goes to 7-0

If Saturday night’s championship game of the Redondo Tournament were a prize fight, Bishop Amat would have knocked out Lakewood in the first round. Bishop Amat (22-2) scored seven runs on six hits in the top of the first inning off Lakewood’s Danny Ittner to claim the White Bracket title, 11-1, in front of a packed stadium. Brandon McNitt (7-0) went six strong innings for Bishop Amat, allowing just one unearned run on four hits to pick up the win.
