Spring Football: Glendora QB Chad Jeffries proving that we might have one of the best in the country in the San Gabriel Valley

We called him Mr. Accuracy because he was on the money with every throw,” lead quarterback coach Matt James said in an ESPN report. “I can only remember one ball hitting the ground all day, and that was late in the camp on a post-corner route.

Glendora’s Jeffries adds to growing list of laurels. Weeks after being named the top quarterback at the Nike Camp at USC, Glendora’s Chad Jeffries wowed scouts and recruiters at last weekend’s Elite 11 regional camp at Cal-Berkeley. “We called him Mr. Accuracy because he was on the money with every throw,” lead quarterback coach Matt James said in an ESPN report. “I can only remember one ball hitting the ground all day, and that was late in the camp on a post-corner route. He’s being way under-recruited right now and is a definite Division I prospect. He has good enough size, can make all the throws and is an athletic kid. He was probably my No.1 guy today.”

Jeffries now stands a good chance to be named one of the Elite 11 quarterbacks in the country. With that honor, Jeffries’ recruitment likely would take flight, if it hasn’t already.

“We’re getting a lot of action around here, it’s unbelievable,” Glendora coach Mark Pasquarella said. “I’ve never been so busy.

“I think it’s just a matter of time before big things start happening.”

Jeffries threw for 1,692 yards and seven touchdowns last season. He also rushed for 657 yards and three scores. And for those wondering whether Jeffries will have anybody to throw to this season, Pasquarella said not to worry.

“We have guys that are good enough,” Pasquarella said. “I’m not sweating that at all. I like my group of kids. If we can stay healthy, we’ll be OK.”
