Former Diamond Bar star Gary Brown drafted by Giants in first round ...
Congrats go out to former Diamond Bar standout Gary Brown, a Tribune All-Area selection in 2007, who was drafted in the first round of the MLB Draft by the San Francisco Giants with the 24th pick.
Brown has played for Cal-State Fullerton for the past three seasons. He was drafted in the 12th round out of high school, but opted to hone his skills in the college game first. Obviously, it paid off.

To bad Gary Brown had to end his college career by not being able to play the last month of the season because of his broken finger. He did make one appearance in the super regionals as a pinch runner/one inning in cf. Another SGV product Tyler Pill did not get to pitch due to a elbow problem. Good luck GB in your professional career and although I cannot stand the giants will root for you individually.

well obviously there is plenty of other kids who have tougher lives than this kid did, so it could have happened to a better kid.. when he was at diamond bar, gary brown was the cockiest and biggest asshole to even his own teammates from what i hear.. so im sure he isnt all that great of a person

Hopefully the CSF titans can beat Minnesota tonight and Brown return next week in the super regional vs UCLA. Runs will be hard to come by vs the 3 top UCLA pitchers and they need his defense in CF as yesterday's late game the replacement CF missed 2 balls that Brown would have caught.
