Future High School Stars: La Puente and San Dimas meet for Little League Section 3 title tonight at Lambert Park in El Monte

| | Comments (32) |

Richie Cantero's three-run homer punctuated an 11-0 victory for La Puente National in Tuesday's Section 3 All-Star tournament win over previously undefeated San Dimas. San Dimas would have won the title with a victory, but La Puente forced a decisive game tonight at 7 p.m. San Dimas had been dominating to this point, but La Puente has been on a role since losing earlier in the tournament. "My team came in with momentum from the night before," La Puente manager Juan Cuevas said. "We're hoping to bring the momentum back for tonight's game." The winner will advance to the Southern California Divisional Tournament's North Sub-Divisional, which starts Saturday at Perry Park in Redondo Beach. Go root them on, these two are our last chance for a local in the Little League World Series.

I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

SAN DIMAS!!...San Gabriel Valley Little League Champs (representing top 10 Teams in Southern Califronia, "TOP TEN").

Kudos to La Puente, with their ballers and bangers, they fought a great fight! They also woke up San Dimas and made them realize playing as a TEAM and with all your HEART is neccessary to move on to GREAT things!

SD.... Once in a lifetime experience..Play your game, trust your teammates, keep within yourselves, leave it all on the field and you will succeed WIN or LOSE.

Although I was just a bystander at this baseball series, I want to say that I was very impressed with the respectful behavior of the San Dimas players and fans. Unfortunately, I heard many derogatory words coming from the La Puente fans. The game belongs to the players and their hard work (both teams). Hurray for San Dimas! It was a game well won.

Where is the 12yr old pony super region going to be held at? Would like to go.

Where's the game at tonight?

SaintsR4real said:

La Puente was ALL HEART yesterday, one thing it seems our San Dimas Team thought they could do without in the sectionals.

I do believe they will come back BIG, because they have the what they need to move on, 11 players that can contribute as much as the next one.

San Dimas; BRING IT TONITE!!

Coach Ruben said:

Tonites game is La Puentes 9th game in 10 days but the team is showing no signs of letting up. While tonites contest promises to be a match up of two exellent ball clubs, LP should have the advantage with their Ace on the hill and a team firing on all cylinders. Once again, the La Puente faithful will be out in full force tonite in support of thier team.

Let's Go LP!

TC Bruin said:

Great job by all the players.

MVP of the game, rightfielder DJ. Cutting off a double in the gap and throwing a perfect strike back to the infield to start a double play cut off a potential SD scoring opportunity. Kept the score 0-0 and shifted momentum to the Orange and Black.

Should be a great game tonight.
