I don't know all the details that led to the suspension, but I was privledged to play for The Man a number of years ago. I was a big star that would head off on a major college scholarship, but Coach Ancich never hesitated to dress me down in front of my teammates, get in my face, and discipline me if necessary. Under his watchful eye I learned the values he believed and taught; to develop courage, loyalty, poise, the proper weighing of values and the proper control of my emotions in adversity, and in accomplishment. These values have served me well from being the first in my family to attain a college degree, and then each step of my life with family and business. He was tougher than you can imagine, but always fairer than you deserved. I owe this man a debt of gratitude for seeing something in an awkard teenage athlete and then trusting his career with my sometime faulty execution. He believed in young men. He never pretended to be perfect, but he was always stubbornly determined that he was right. He is the Duke of Earl! Thank you Coach A.....welcome back to the sideline where you belong.

Your loyal fan.

Andrew Campa,

Thank you for taking the time to talk to me on the phone 8/25/10 in regards to coach Ancich and St.Paul. I know I was very emotional but everything I said came from my heart. You showed you are a class act by going and talking to the kids and coaches in a tough enviorment right now.I loved the article. I know you gave them inspiration and hope, to fight on.
(p.s You can get good stories by sitting with Coach A and asking him questions and hearing his stories. He knows everything about Southern California football history. He can make you a even better prep sports writer. Love him or hate him is a Legend.

Sincerely,
St.Paul football alumni
