Rowland’s undefeated record and No. 1 Southeast ranking on the line against Claremont

Rowland’s undefeated record and No. 1 ranking in the Southeast Division say a lot about the Raiders, but Friday’s game against Claremont will say a lot more, according to coach Craig Snyder. Rowland has posted wins over Baldwin Park, California and Rosemead so far, but Friday will be its first, true upper-division test.

Boys Water Polo: Bonita might be closing the gap, but Damien still owns bragging rights, wins 10-6

Damien High School has been the area’s elite boys water polo team for much of the past decade. Bonita, a traditional power in its own right, has played second fiddle to its La Verne neighbors. The Bearcats have closed the gap, but the Spartans showed Tuesday they still rule the landscape. Eric Osterberg and Johnny Beal each scored two goals and Damien overcame a sluggish start en route to a 10-6 victory over Bonita at Las Flores Park.

Coveritlive on Friday: West Covina-Glendora (game of the week); highlights video’s from Amat-Damien, Monrovia-San Dimas

Mike “The Cousin” Robledo and Aram Tolegian will be live from Citrus College for the Coveritlive game of the week between Glendora and West Covina, our front page barnburner.
