Former Rosemead High strong safety and fullback Cesar Chavez, who helped the Panthers reach the CIF-SS Mid-Valley Division championship in 2008, was involved in a serious motorcycle accident two weeks ago and is still in intensive care, though stable, Panthers coach Matt Koffler said this morning. Chavez was attending Cal State L.A., but he is still in the hearts of Rosemead alumni and school officials, who will have a donation basket at Friday’s homecoming against Gabrielino for those who would like to help Chavez and his family.
