Bishop Amat practices running long this week, sources say coaches calling it, “winning time.”

Maybe that’s because the last time Bishop Amat played Crespi at Kiefer, the Lancers won 22-21 on Jerry Mac’s two-point do-or-die conversion dive at the left corner in 2008. I was there and still can’t confirm for sure whether he got in, but the Lancers won it, one of the best games ever seen at Kiefer. This highlight video captured it all and then some.
FYI: Mike “The Cousin” Robledo will be at Kiefer Friday for Coveritlive. Visitors from Crespi are welcome to join the chat.

Amat Fans, your opponents know how tailgate too, and watch how they’re preparing for Friday’s showdown. Yes, the guy pumping his fist uncontrollably on the sidelines is the Scouting Guru, making his first trip to the Amat sidelines.

great clip on Crespi, that is a heckuva program, you can’t beat the spirit and brotherhood of an all-boys HS, i e Loyola,Servite,Crespi..interesting to see coach h2o jump ship what happened to his almighty huskies? once a front – runner always a frontrunner, at least he’s not here ruining the blog for any halfway intelligent fan! this game is like a Pac5 semi-final in caliber, top notch coaches and athletes, Amat might be in a real fight tomorrow, but somehow, someway they prevail, by 2……, check this game out, make some mental notes, this is how the big boys play HS football in SoCal, cuz it sure isn’t found in D7 ! page me at Nickys Pub , downtown W. De Pere, on my laptop, the annual 3 day pub crawl and Lambeau extravaganza, sponsored by Leinenkugels Red and Usingers brats! Go Badgers!

That’s cool Crespi. I like seeing all the back ups parents getting involved with the tailgate.

  • in

It is a close call…but it almost looks like he fumbled it and was recovered in the end zone by Amt.

you know what they say amat STUDY LONG STUDY WRONG…it aint enough studying in the world to help y’all this week…..j/k but it wont help in the final week of the season GOOD LUCK AMAT THIS WEEK

  • AMAT 73

Just make sure your boys keep in the hunt this season. You have some tough battles before you get to AMAT .You know as well as we do that no one in our league can be taken for granted. Save some material for the week of the game.

  • AMAT 73

Forgot to mention this but you did see the Celt fans with Blue cups. Even they have some love for AMAT.

  • Lookout

Don’t look now but the infamous Guru is coming in to town tomorrow night. Look for him on the Crespi sideline.

  • Amat Honk

Mc Luvin it – CELLAR OF THE PAC-5? Where have you been BOY? You know what? Your post is Sooooooooo Stupid. I’m not even going to continue with you.

  • every week – just keep hoping

McLuvin – even in their worst year under Verti, they never were in the “cellar of the Pac5”. That year they beat Rancho Cucamonga (we know some SGV teams that couldn’t do that) Loyola (SGV teams would not DARE schedule them) and St Paul (who was the D3 CHAMPION!

  • AMAT 73

    luvin it,
Glad we can bring some joy to your life. You got to admit , love us or hate us we are always on everybody’s mind. Thanks for taking the time to lets us know how you feel.

  • Score two

J Mac always had the magic!, starting with his impossible comeback win against OLU in his first start of his career and his amazing last second victories against some of the top teams in CA.

    We miss you at AMAT!

Watched the first half of the Crespi-Amat JV game (had to leave a bit early) and I have to say that this was perhaps the best JV performance that I have witnessed in more than 4 years at Kiefer.

However, because I left at half time, I certainly don’t know if they won that game or not (because it’s still being played, even as we speak), but, I have to say that it was a good first half outing for the Lancers and maybe, just maybe, they can carry this “sharpness” through out the rest of their season.

    We shall see…

Oh, BTW “i’m luvin it,” do you happen to work at McDonald’s ?

I only ask, because that kinda sounded like their motto….

Perhaps a Freudian slip there, that pretty much describes your level of success in life eh ?

  • Crespi is in the Serra…Not the Sierra

Why is it so hard for some of you to understand BA Football culture?

BA Fans will STILL be pumping their chest even if BA loses to Crespi or Loyola or ND or Alemany?

WHY WHY WHY? BECAUSE IT’S CRESPI! IT’S THE SERRA! …To lose to a team that belongs to one of the top leagues and the top division in the USA!

Contrary to unpopular belief, losing to Crespi is not the same as losing to Covina or Ranch Cucamonga…IT’S CRESPI, PEOPLE!

LOL! Do these guys really not know the difference?

  • NotSince1995

Is your questionnable SOFTBALL COACH going to be at the Legends game?

    Oh…one more question…Will you have Legends post 1995…? šŸ™‚

    Just askin…!

    Not In 2010 Either…!

  • NotSince1995

Not Since 1995 have the Keeblers had a winning team…!

Every other Keebler team after 1995 is NOT a CIF Champion…! Including your current Keeblers…!

    No Ring…No Championship…No Banner…!

    Not in 2010 Either…!

    Your Conscience

Got there a bit late and really saw the 2nd 1/2.

When Cespi scored a TD on the KO return to make score 28-14, something told me to stick around since I figured Crespi had a punchers chance to comeback.

Crespi scored 2 TD’s in 2nd half and came up SHORT[no more than a couple of inches] on a 2 pt try to win w/about 3 mins to play.

Amat was able to get a 1st down on their next series, then run out the clock w/a win.

Right before Crespi scored their last TD, Amat coach went for a 1st down on a 4th and 1 or 2 yards and came up SHORT, giving Crespi a short field[40 yards] which helped Crespi score their last TD in short order. He should have punted.

Crespi ouyplayed Amat in the 2nd half.

On another note: I read in the LA Times that the Garfield Frosh QB is now starting on Varsity. This kid is VERY good. Too bad he or Cathedral QB CR are not at Amat ready to take over for RR when RR moves on.

I’m coaching now-a-days, but I’ll make sure to stop by your tent next time I can make it, I think thats Notre Dame week…

    Go AMAT!! Beat the Celts!!

  • jcaz

    TC Bruin

Wow, seems like I missed out on an intersting second half.

Glad we were able to pull it out though.

  • Amat Family

NotSince1995, get a grip man! You’re displaying classic case of ‘sour grapes’! You have to remember these are kids giving their all out there. Put some perspective into your posts. Go Blue!

  • Amat Dude

    Hey Jcaz,

I was at the JV game yesterday and also had to leave at halftime to meet clients. I hope people don’t think we’re the same person. Anyway I’ll be looking for you at the next frosh or JV home game. First half was all Amat, I mean we were up 21-7 until that speedster #2 ran it all the way back during kickoff to make it 21-14 at the half. I knew we were in for a battle in the second half. Did you see that nice TD catch by #80 Cook? I think that was the best catch of his career.

  • BAFB 2010!!!

This is still my favorite Bishop Amat football video!

  • i saw the amat/crespi jv game from start to finish. I am very happy to say amat played well, especially the offense which looked better than it has all year. The defense got the big stops when they needed it, but for once truly needed the offense’s help. The games biggest highlights would have to be a terrific catch in the back of the endzone by #80 Joseph Cook and a huge defensive stop on a 2 point conversion late in the fourth quarter. Even though Crespi never gave up and fought very hard, amat shined through for a 28-27 victory. This is the first league win for this group of sophmores who lets not forget went 0-3 in league last year. Congrats boys and keep it up!

  • They did exactly that, and besides residential they do in Knoxville too.

  • Hard to say. I doubt either team will go the whold distance to the Super Bowl again. It’s a great time to make Superbowl bets though, the odds are really high.

  • Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

  • Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
