Tribune Super 35: Claremont and Charter Oak both hot heading into Friday’s showdown

Above: Claremont QB Daniel Kessler leads the area with 1,820 yards and 20 touchdowns. He will be put to the test Friday at Charter Oak in the game of the week.

1. Bishop Amat (7-0) — Jalen Moore is running with the confidence that a great Amat back should. The Lancers are old school, combining great defense with a grind-it-out offense. If you’re watching the best part is there is still so much room to improve.
2. West Covina (5-1) — Poor Los Altos, they have to travel to West Covina after the Bulldogs’ bye week.
3. Bonita (6-0) — Whoever put the Bearcats schedule together was brilliant. They should get to 7-0 with a home win against Walnut, them comes the stretch run against Rowland, West Covina and Diamond Ranch.
4. Claremont (5-1) — On paper they have become the Sierra League favorites, that’s what a win over Chino Hills gets you. Now, if RB Taj Teague is healthy and ready to go, this team is downright scary.
5. Charter Oak (4-2) — Let’s see, a 17-0 win over Ayala followed by a 54-7 thrashing over Ayala. If history tells us anything, it’s that the Chargers always get better late in the season. If they continue to play defense, they’re as competitive as anyone in the Inland Division.
6. Chino Hills (4-2) — What happened to the unbeatable Huskies? They get Damien next, if they stumble again, they’re suddenly in a fight for their playoff lives.
7. Glendora (4-2) — The Tartans can score with the best of them, but they’re too easy to score on against the type of competition they have to face week in and week out.
8. Azusa (6-0) — If the Aztecs wanted to score 100 points on Duarte this week, they probably could. This is the one game where a running clock should be considered before the game starts.
9. Covina (6-1) — The Colts are one of a handful of teams with a realistic shot at winning the Mid-Valley Division. They become favorites if they can defeat Baldwin Park and San Dimas in the coming weeks.
10. Damien (4-2) — Truth is, the Spartans’ only two losses came against Pac-5 Teams. And they have wins over Diamond Ranch and South Hills. Don’t count coach Greg Gano out just yet.

The Rest: 11. Diamond Ranch (4-3), 12. Rowland (4-3), 13. Arroyo (5-1), 14. Ayala (4-2), 15. Baldwin Park (2-4), 16. San Dimas (4-3), 17. Rosemead (4-2), 18. Walnut (3-3), 19. South Hills (1-5), 20. Sierra Vista (5-1), 21. Diamond Bar (4-3), 22. La Puente (4-2), 23. Northview (2-4), 24. Wilson (3-3), 25. Pomona (3-4), 26. Ganesha (3-3), 27. Mountain View (3-3), 28. Gladstone (2-3), 29. El Monte (2-4), 30. Nogales (1-5), 31. South El Monte (1-5), 32. Los Altos (0-6), 33. Bassett (2-4), 34. Workman (1-5), 35. Duarte (0-5)

  1. What a difference a week makes. A one point loss aided by favorable calls from the stripes and Chino Hills drops out completely from the top 35.

  2. Fred,

Correction: “5. Charter Oak (4-2) — Let’s see, a 17-0 win over Ayala” should be 17-0 win over Santa Fe.

  3. POOR LA My A@@ the AD and the Head Coach one more pump and they would’ve been girls this is awful leadership. Resign for Hacienda Heights Sake.

  4. I have been reading through the postings about LA looks like that’s starting to stand for Lost Again. Here is what i’m seeing. 1st all of you LA parents, friends and supporters need to call Felipe Aguiliar and apologize to him. It’s looking like he wasn’t the problem at all. His mistake was that he thought he could bring LA back to the level he remembered in his day (and they were great days). But you didn’t want to give the kid a chance that he deserved. There was a reason the Kiki Mendoza (your first choice) said thanks but no thanks. So you have no one to blame but yourselves for the current situation. You are stuck with someone who has no ties to the LA Glory days. I don’t see it getting better anytime soon. In my league rankings from the beginning of the season I had Los Altos finishing 7th and Diamond Bar finishing 6th. It’s starting to look more and more like that’s exactly what is going to happen.
No-DBar is just a notch above LA. Another school with past glory. But another school where the bloggers are roasting the head coach. I’ve seen No-DBar this year. They had to be the most overrated team in the SGV. The funny thing is the DB people are so arrogant that they thought they were lowering themselves by coming into the Hacienda League, and that they were going to dominate. They had no respect for the other schools in the league. (and yes Fred you and Steve drinking the DB Kool-Aide to) They have been exposed in the Hacienda League. Both of these teams have the same issue from what I see. Not big enough, not fast enough, not strong enough. Here is the test for those 2 coaches. Can they get their teams to play hard in the games they have left to finish out the season. They both need to circle each other on their calenders. That game will be for the O’fer League Plaque.

    SGV430 Ouuut!!!

  5. Chino Hills quit complaining about refs. You have benefited from poor calls as well as every other team that has ever played the game. It’s always easy to point the finger when your team chokes. There couldn’t have been that many flagrant officiating blunders to allow a 21 point comeback. You lost deal with it.

  6. SGV for 30

You are absolutely correct about F.A.
Jim Arellanes lost 10 at NV another 10 at LA
Is there any way he can take some more sleeping pills on Fridays. I think the AD is also taking these during the week and the Principal may have joined in. It is absolutely a circus at LA JA do not dress up as a clown it is unnecessary.

  7. AHSFBfan,
I can see your point of view but it truly was ridiculous. It wasn’t just that we were penalized 16 times to their 4, It was the spotting of the ball after the penalties and the uncertainty of the officials. On one of Claremont’s drives there were 5 penalties called against us only 2 of them legit. You are correct, we did blow a 21 point lead but you as well as any other football fan knows that officials can change the momentum of the game big time. Still, hats of to Claremont for keeping their composure and battling back. I hated to see #2 get injured, he is a great athlete.

  8. Dennis Rufus is the most explosive player in the Valley.. Santiago has one of the best arms in the Valley, still coming into his own in terms of making the right reads and knowing where to put the ball…

That said, I’d say CO upends Claremont.. Only to lose to Chino Hills.. While Claremont slips up to either Damien or South Hills AND CO/CH go undefeated the rest of the way to finish in first place tie..

  9. AHSFBfan,
You really want to get on here and run off at the mouth after the A$$ whoopin you got last Friday……..54-7….are you kidding me???? What was your excuse this time…”you kicker had the wrong cleats”, “The relative humidity was to high – making the air too dense for your QB to throw”…….you had excuses for your loss last week too. So, how does that 4-0 start against those weak teams look now???? …..Oh Tommy Inglima is a piece of work….a legend in his own mind. Bulldog way my A$$….If sleeping with a married booster club member’s wife is the example you want to send, go ahead. He’s a hypocrite.

  10. DId coach Inglima (the self proclaimed defensive guru) really give up 54 points???? 42 in the 1st half? You really want to come on here and bag on anyone? I liked Chino Hills getting beat too, but damn…to come on here and talk smack when you got biotch slapped last Friday. You sound like a bitter ex girlfriend telling people to stop whining….trying to take the heat off of your beloved Bulldogs? We (Damien) can’t wait to play you guys You better hope you beat So. Hills because if not, you will 0-5 in league.

  11. Wow or Whoever you really are:

Here is my post about our loss from another thread. Maybe you missed it. No excuses made. Just kept it real:

    AHSFBfan said:
    Congrats to Charter Oak.
They completely dismantled our Bulldogs last night in every facet of the game. That was the best game anyone has played against us in all the years I can remember watching Ayala play. Charter Oak coaches definitely put together a great game plan. If C.O. keeps playing like last night they may be Sierra champs this year. They have a good size line and awesome receiver corps. I would pick C.O. over Claremont or Chino Hills
As for Ayala, they played very flat and lifeless. From what I have heard they had a very emotional week after it was learned that the head coaches mother passed away. No excuses for the loss, just a contributing factor maybe. Time for them to pick it up and show what they are really capable of next week or their season will end in four weeks. What a tough league.

  12. AHS fan……you shouldnt even be here posting….you got crushed!!!! not by one point or any bad calls, you guys played a bunch of pop warner teams for pre season and now you face the big dogs, you will be lucky to win another game…

  13. LA and famous head coach Jim Arellanes may get lucky the West Covina JAA Jr Midgets may dress up. Good Luck I will be betting on the Jr midgets.

  14. COSteelCurtain, I had doubts before that jcaz or another Amat honk was the BEST but after this Im thinking that maybe youre right. One thing is for certain, its an AMAT honk because theyre the only one with motive. Hey Joe Amat and AMAT 73, this clown is representing your schoolnice image, isnt it?
I am NOT sgv’sbestjerk or non-sense1995! I am a lone gunman, and although I can go over the top on occassion, I prefer to stay positive. My 2 cents- I believe the imposter “COChargerFan” is responsible for all of these posts…”imposter COChargerFan,Nonsense1995 and “supposedly original” COChargerfan (answering himself). If CO is registered then anything without the “Mark” is bogus.
just a question for anyone who can explain said:
If there is anyone with the knowledge that can tell me, the correct answer, on how the Wild Card works in the Valley Vista League? Thanks for any help.
Gano has had tremendous talent, but it’s not like he just let’s those players go out there and play with no structure. He gets the most out of talented kids. They have a good system on both sides of the ball and nobody is bigger than the program. The kids all like playing for him which is a tribute to him, especially when you are talking about tremendous athletes. No, he won’t be at La Verne and that’s La Verne’s loss. It’s not like he’s beat up on bad teams for 10 years. He has scheduled the best teams around and beat most of them. What he has done the last 10 years makes him more than just a “good” high school coach. Those people that know him know that he understands X’s and O’s as well as anyone.

  15. I’ve said before we do not all operate by the same standard and Who really cares what you think about who is who on the Blog, Shut up loser. By the way where is your registered name icon? EXACTLY! Nice try, “SGV’schargerFan1995”.

  16. Fred,
I would hope you delete unsubstantiated posts that are personal attacks against a coach or player. I don’t know if the accusations are true or not, but some anonymous poster should not get the satisfaction of assassinating someones character. It may be a slanderous comment by some dweeb whose kid did not get to play. That’s just not fair to the coach. If the guy has a problem with a coach, maybe he should man up and confront him; not get the cowardly satisfaction of posting it here.

  17. At it again eh Curtain Rods ?

Didn’t COFAN just say that he posts only between 4-6 am ?

Man pretty soon your even going to make my mother think i’m the queen of England !

The only problem with that is that i’ve got a set, but she don’t, and neither do you…..

Dude, is that the best you can do ?

    Ha ha ha

    Classic….

  18. What is with you, AHSfbfan, here your calling foul on OLD CHINO, for complaining, and now your complaining to Fred about your feelings.

    “Fred,

Can you say bad timing and I think your a little lost by being on here, after getting,” They completely dismantled our Bulldogs”

  19. Hey Fred, who is the only un-beaten tem in the southeast division? The answer is Bonita. And when they get their QB completely healthy watch out! Their QB has only played in parts of their last two games and has six touchdown passes in just three quarters played. When he gets 100% healed they will be tough to beat.

  20. Hi Fred-

What’s wrong with Andrew Campa’s Blog?
Your blog is almost ‘real time’ and
Mr. Campa’s is over a week old. You’ve got
the best blog going with pictures and even
streaming updates from the games. We get week
old information that is really useless.

Roger Murray wasn’t very timely with the technology but this is unreal. Andrew is not that
    old!! Haha!

Help us out in the Whittier area. Please!
    Thanks.

  21. SGV FOR 30,

If you have not seen DB go watch on Friday for yourself. This old timer has watched many games throughout my days and have seen both LA and DB this season. I live off the 60 and pick and choose games. I’m will not attend LA or Wilson games because of the drama they bring to the stands. LA fans whipper and all you hear in is that the coaching staff favors kids and don’t play kids that are able to give the team some what of a chance to win. On the Wilson side all you hear is about their QB’s blablabla. DB fans both parents and kids have been a class act as I witnessed this season. Both teams may be undersized BUT watch the game for yourself before you comment on a team you have not seen. Both staffs are bad pal. Thats why it will be the game of the weak lol.

  22. Ive been reading this thread for amusement because Im not into mythical whose better comparisons and note you Amat honks narcissistic attacks on your new enemy SGV FOOTBALL, but couldn’t overlook commenting upon AMAT 73s hilarious statement that “I also don’t think anyone of us has ever written we are the best of the SGV.” Come on, Amat honks have written this maybe 100 times over the past yearwhat exactly does Amats claim to being FAR, FAR, FAR SUPERIOR to the SGV teams mean to you? And Geez Lance Amat, you need some serious psyche counseling for that paranoia because the whole world is not a hater that is out to get you. Stop looking over your shoulder pal because no one is really following youits all in your head. Do you ever find yourself typing over and over the words All work and no play makes LANCE AMAT a dull boy?
If Amat and CO played, no doubt that Amat would lose! Impossible that CO could win? It could happen Amat honks, couldnt it?
Congratulations youve got a bunch of classless, obnoxious kids on your team. Does Hags teach this behavior? Way to represent your values.

  23. Fake COCF – I’m pretty sure that anyone of those 100 times what you read was FAR, FAR, FAR SUPERIOR level of play when talking about the Pac-5

  24. Oh yeah CH husky fan…because all of those penalties were undeserved…jumping off sides hitting the qb late and grabbing receivers in the secondary. All of those are undeserved? But a premature whistle that almost ended claremonts last td drive as it took points off the board, and those false starts on the qb chavez that went uncalled and the number of holding on ch center that went uncalled were? we can sit here all day and complain about the calls…but the fact of the matter is that ch still lost. now i know it may be an unfamiliar feeling but just suck up ur pride and quit making excuses. i do wish ch and the very best in league tho and honestly think they wont lose another game

  25. Fa…Fa…Far Superior…? What is this Far Superior that you speak of…? What is this…? Pra…pra…Practice…?

FACT: BishopNation has NOT won anything for 16 long and suffering years…!

FACT: The PAC 5 playoffs hands them their A** every year…!

Is this not TRUE…? Tell me I’m wrong…!

C’mon Keeblers…! What world do you live in…? BishopNation is a .500 football program for the past 10 years. Lets not forget the 3 – 7 season in 2007!

Amat Honk, You are NO In N Out Burger…!

    TacoNazo…??? Maybe. Definately not In N Out…!

    Not in 2010 Either!

  26. Early morning so the real COCF is backI see that the poser continues with his childish game. Whats your point pal as everyone is on to your stupid game? If you want to pose as me, then youd better set the alarm clock for 4-6 am.

You know, after thinking about it some more, this idiot could be anyone who just wants to stir the pot so jcaz I had no right to implicate youso I apologizealthough I disagree that youre not smart enough to pull it off and certainly you have admitted using different screen names for fun so it isnt that far-fetched that some folks might consider you as a suspect.

Fred J should ask his IT Dept to cross reference this posers IP Address to all the screen names used by that computer for the past month and then provide everyone on the blog with a listing of the pseudonymsheck, do it for me (I only use one name so Ive got nothing to hide) and all the other regularsnow that would be a reality check for some of the big mouth wise guys that hide behind anonymityand maybe a 300 hit thread would follow as the insults would really fly. Fred J, this could even be a regular end of the month special thread.

And Ive never been registered before but at one time did have the mark but dont know why. Anyway, I did register last night so lets see if it works.

  27. I saw Chavez play the kid is not good! if they really want to win then they need to find someone else.. they have all that talent and a crappy QB.

  28. Chavez is bad? Haha obvious hater, good enough to beat Tesoro, REV, and Claremont……everyone is entitled to their opinions im sure your kid is just as bad….poser

  29. Anonymous,
You are going to sit here and tell me that the roughing the passer call was legit?????? This isn’t the NFL….the QB was pushed (barely) as he threw the ball…total continuation play. The in advertant whistle was bizzare, I’ll give you that…that is just another example of how clueless this officiating crew was. Our QB about got his head torn off on a facemask call behind the line of scrimmage….The zebras called a personal foul and marched off the penalty from the spot of the foul!!!! costing Claremont a whole 4 yards. We did make lots of stupid mistakes like jumping offsides but come on….. How about the blatant block in the back on our last punt for the whole world to see?….non call. I know excuses are like A-holes everyone has them and they all stink, but the refs played way to big a role in that game.
I also said take nothing away from Claremont, they did what they needed to do to win. They kept their composure and fought back. That is the sign of a well coached team. Good luck the rest of the year. Hopefully we’ll meet again in the playoffs!

  30. Footballer

Playing favorites is a known recipe to lose games Jim Arellanes LA head coach is a loser. The best kid the team had #2 left his senior year during the season. If a senior can pick up and leave to another highschool half way thru the season this should tell a 17 year old figured out this 40 year old wants to lose. There is no person in two cities that wants to lose. This is purely Jim Arellanes coaching standards. Tall Lanky Loser.
This man has no business coaching.I would say go watch for yourself but the scores represent him good enough . DONT WASTE YOUR TIME THE LEADRERSHIP IS AWFUL. WC 80 LA 6

  31. Anomymous, by the way i heard the Claremont game was insured …….by Cessler insurance! i bet the boys in stripes got full coverage and uninsured motorist just incase they fall behind!!

  32. COCF, Great idea, youd probably have a lot of our fellow Bloggers squirming.
I work with 150+ other employees, I go to Starbucks in the morning before work and I occasionally Blog from either spot as do many others, I have a family of Five with 3 teenage kids Two in high school that are involved in high school sports. All family members have their own laptops and Im sure they share their computers with their buddies when they come over.
COCF, I think you know were Im going with this.
I accidentally used your Moniker about Five months ago, I was new to the Blogosphere and didnt know it was taken, however it never stopped you from not accepting my apology after you called me a Moron and an idiot.
I for one think some of your shadows posts are funny! And you do present a target onto yourself. Ill be willing to bet this is someone that knows and dislikes you; sorry Im sure that doesnt narrow it down much.

  33. COChargerfan,

I suggest you just register and get the little icon next to your name.

  34. SGV FOOTBALL,
As far back as I can remember COCF has always been registered since Fred started the regristration proccess. Either way this guys a fraud as you can see some of these post are totally out of COCF’s character. I don’t even believe the 4-6 guy is him . He made the statement about those hours so why does he announce it’s the real COCF at that hour . This is just some creep haave a laugh on the blog . No problem just let him go for it . I am sure the real COCF will stand up one day and settle this joke . On another point SGV FOOTBALL is someone attacking you on here . I looked but couldn’t see any attacks.

  35. Chavez has struggled this season as a first year starter. He played good enough last week to win. What really hurt us is that Ifo has a separated shoulder and couldn’t play offense. He is our biggest threat on “O”. Our offense played good enough to win but the fumble late in the game hurt us. If we had Verdugo back from last year, we’d be very dangerous.

  38. C.H.Fans,
Got a question for you. How can you be sure that you saw all those fouls by Claremont that you insist the refs did not see? The game was fast paced, kids moving everywhere…Case in point:
At the top of this blog is a picture of Claremont QB Kessler. It’s a photo. It’s not moving. His name is on his back…clearly. Now in the post about Claremont buying insurance ( Cessler )..you misspelled his name.
If you can’t even get a name right, AND it’s posted on a PHOTO( not moving )and less than 3 feet away from you…how can you insist you saw things in a football game, from at least 40 yards away, and while they were moving?

    ( That’s all the questions I have for this witness..YOUR HONOR )

  39. notsincesgvbestjerk1995,
Hey fool why don’t you at least get with the times. You have to go back 10 years to get those numbers on Amat . You always speak of Amat living in the past so whay don’t you adhere to you own gripes. Why dont you go back 5 years or 3 years. Is it because the basis for your trash talking has changed in recent years. What’a Amats winng percentage in the last 3-4 years . Come jack it’s 2010 get with the times fool. I bet you still wear your 95 lettermans jacket on Friday nights .

  40. My question to the coaches, why do you start #12 in the Covina game, pull him quick go to #7. If #12 is your qb then use #12 and sit #7. The perception is that you go with #12, then when it doesn’t look good you go running to #7 with your tail tucked between legs asking him to get you out of your mess. If #12 is your quarterback stick him and prove everyone wrong. Keep going back to #7 makes your staff looks like they are clueless. We are going with #12 at Nogales this week that is for sure. Now lets see who your real quarterback is in the Baldwin Park game, like we found out in the Covina and Diamond Bar game. Where your balls I double dare you not to play #7 in the Baldwin Park game. Don’t be a coward and go running to the blogs and asking them to delete this entry, man up and sleep in the bed you made.

  41. Colt 74,
I know the Spelling of “Kessler’s” name was not directed at me, however, I can address the penalty part of your post. I was at the game and have watched the video of the game a couple of times just to confirm my opinions on the officiating. We did make some obvious penalties like jumping offsides, facemasking, and a couple of pass interferences. There were some calls against us that were bogus…..the late hit out of bounds – the kids was still inbounds when he was hit (official was blocked by players and “thought” he was out of bounds) being called for pass interference on a screen play where the RB was hit “BEHIND” the line of scrimmage where he is open game, the other plays I have previously mentioned as well….the officials were a joke. The back judge was so eager to be involved in the game that he blew the play dead when a Claremont player was going in to score. I saw the game live and re watched it to confirm my views. I am not blaming the loss on the officials, but they were horrible.

  44. To Smolt 44…. I can spell…dont want to be sued by a insurance company genious….i can also spell Payed or but hurt referees! Who do you play next week?? Nice!

  45. Spectator,
What’s the matter? Everything will be alright. Go back home…put your big girl panties on…have another up of coffee… and see if you can start the day without a wedgie.

    CH Husky fan,
I was not at the game and my post was for entertainment purposes only. Every team has had to deal with bad refs although in your case it sounds like a little over the top. Your coach can send films to CIF and file a protest. Hopefully, that has already been done. I know it hurts more than normal because of the closeness of the game and the league standings. If it was so blatant you guys owe it to all of the other teams to get those refs removed/suspended IF that is warranted.
Be realistic though, unless something is so blatantly obvious that even Stevie Wonder could have seen it nothing is going to come from an appeal/protest.
I got you beat though….I was called for lining up off-sides at tackle twice (2) in a game ( way way back )on offense in a game against Edgewood. I only played Defensive End that game. Doo Doo happens.

  46. Wilson Parent,
It’s clear to see that in the Card Game of Life you got dealt 4 Jokers. I KNOW this is a BS post just to see if you can snag someone with 2 pound test….but even the Amat haters are sitting back and going “WTF????”

I don’t know why..but this line from Star Wars just popped into my head…

“Hold your fire. There’s no life forms. It must have short-circuited.”……

  47. COChargerfan,

Seems to me that your always apologizing for something you said, did, wrote, or maybe even dreampt about…..

Look, I got no problem with what you or anyone else says in here, but at least be consistent about it.

Sure, I have a little fun every now and then, but the gig was up when Dan figured it out. BTW, that was fun….

So, if Curtain Rods wants to post as SGVBest, and then come in here and act like a fool then let him, because he’s finally coming out of the closet.

But for you to share time with him in there is a little bit puzzling to me dude ?

  48. COchargerfan,
Either you are both #1and #2 or neither. The Blog at 8:00pm last night is 100% your style, the real COCF is back seems a little arrogant even for you! And I disagree with AMAT73, the 4-6 guy is you!
So, my pick is you are both #1 and #2, this allows you to be the Good guy, Jester, and the Prick, I also believe you are posing as a whole cast of characters on this and other Blog sites like, sugarballs it seemed to start with the San Dimas Girls Volleyball posts
I personally dont care if you keep on posting under all these different names, its kinda funny! And we all probably pay more attention to them than youre more serious blogs, theyre certainly better written.

  49. CH Husky Fan:
I was not at the game, but overheard from some parents that Bub kind of cost us the game? He came running out on the field a couple times (or once?) warranted an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty? I played for Bub and loved his passion because it inspired me and my teammates, but sometimes I wish one of the assistant coaches (like Whetzel or someone he respects) would tell him to control his emotions during such a tight game.

  50. Colt74

Dude, you need to get out of the house a little more often than just Friday nights. And, lay off the classic 1970’s dvds. It’s starting to get a little weird…

  51. Dr.Phil,
Tell you what..I’ll get out Thursday night this week….
Oh..and Oprah wants me to remind you that she still has not received the last 4 checks for getting you on the air and also wants to know if you got the case of head wax she sent? Call her.

  52. Colt45…very funny! You hit the nail right on the head! “Wilson Parent” is really Mr. Schreimen trying to use this blog again to get some playing time for #7! The guy is running out of ideas! OUR Quarterback is and will be #12!

  53. To CHHS Alumni
I was at the game and the times that Coach Bubb came out on the field were times that the stripes seem confused on what penalty to call and/or how many yards to mark off or where the mark off should start from (spot of foul or line of scrimmage). To the best of my recall there were no penalties marked off based upon the actions of Coach Bubb. He may have riled up the stripes by calling them on their lack knowledge on how to apply the rules. Once again Claremont fought back and held their composure and that along with questionable calls from the stripes led to their victory, but nonetheless it was still a victory and in a little more than 48-hrs the events of Oct. 15th will be old news and the blogs will be about the results of the games played on Oct. 22nd. Good luck to all.

  54. “Funny”

Starting “your” qb #12 will keep Wilson out of the playoff race for this and next year. They don’t have the o-line talent or rb talent next year to be a run first team. Wilson is currently loaded with jr wr talent, which is why they spent the entire spring and summer running a shotgun/spread type offense while keeping Mo Vega in the backfield as a run threat. IRONICALLY the most hated cross town rival LA has lead to the Wilson qb controversy, and their recent downfall. The game after #7 injures his hand against DB happens to be LA. The worst team on Wilson’s schedule this year.

    And who gets the start???

    Your #12

    And what does #12 do?

Lights up LA like a xmas tree.

Now the Wilson coaching staff thinks because #12 can roast the worst team in the SGV he can do it on a weekly basis. WRONG !!

But being that the Wilson OC is a run first kind of guy and apparently of a lower wattage they continue the attempt at run run run.

Now all the pass oriented parents (and a few of Zavala’s broken promises parents) from Wilson are up in arms and verbally blowing up the head coach after practice and it looks like there’s going to be a fair amount of players looking for greener pastures come semester end or summer.

    not M.S.

  55. COCF,

I’ve had people post using JFR and it’s no big deal, this is a high school football blog and nothing more. I just got back from the desert enjoying a cold one catching up on the blog, sit back and read other posts and have a good laugh. I was once anal like you but finally figured it out, this blog is stress relief for me now. CHEERS.

Coach Mooneys dismissal had nothing to do with football, much deeper.

  56. Wildcats : A Few Bad Apples

Wow, some of these Wilson bloggers (parents?) are delusional.

They somehow see Wilson as a football powerhouse loaded with D1 talent.

I like Wilson and attended most of their gamesI see a 500 team.

Sorry, but this team has a poor defense.

If Wildcats win 5 in 2010 it would be a huge step forward from 09.

Rather than support their HC, many just spew their idiotic amateur advice on this Blog.

The most ignorant comments come from the screamers sitting at the 50 yard line.

    Do us all a favor…SHUT UP !!!!

  57. “A”

I totally agree with you “A”. I was wondering what happened to #2 from LA. #2 was something else, the boy could hit and run. when put into the game 3rd and long the boy would get a first down. Then he was pulled. Too many coaches play that awful game by playing their favorites rather than the better player.
By the way did #2 leave LA?

  58. CHHS Alum,
Bub did not get any penalties. Just like Old man in Chino said, Bub was ticked off because the white hat had no clue what he was doing. They didn’t know where to march off the penalty from….couldn’t make decisions…it was a joke. Did you know Whetzel is Coaching Varsity now….coaching the D line…looks like the CHHS freshmen dynasty is over…lol. The CHHS Freshmen are 3-3 I think…. 1-0 in league…they look like they have some good kids.

  61. Hey “GET WITH THE TIMES” (aka Burro Pentheho)

You asked: Why dont you go back 5 years or 3 years?

Ok – Lets go back 5 years:
    2005: A Very Average 6 – 4. Member Servite…?
2006: A Very Horrible 5 – 5. Notre Dame and Crespi beat you with your own Chancla…Member…?
2007: Hah…Hah…Hah…! It was a Laugher at 3 – 7…! Everybody took their turn on you in 2007…Member Olu, Hart, Alemany, Crespi and even Notre Dame…beat you like a “Red Head Alter Boy” late for his meeting with the priest…!
2008: Another Very Average 7 – 4. Finally made playoffs. Only to get your A** handed to you by LONG BEACH POLY…!
    2009: Finally…! Hags and his illegal recruiters deliver a decent 10 – 2. Oh, but wait…Can you say Lakewood…THE WOOD…! So sorry…try again next year…!
    2010: “Cup…Cake” 7 – 0…!

Come Jack it’s 2010 get with the times fool.

    Not in 2010 Either…!

    Sincerely,
    Your Conscience

  62. All this talk about this #2 kid from Los Altos…Is this the same kid who played with the Phantoms till he was 15? Maybe someone should wonder why a 15 year old who is that good is still playing Pop Warner when he should be playing high school football.

  63. Funny (aka Los Altos Parent),

If you were a true Wilson Supporter you would know what parent is hitting the bloggers hard, he makes it common knowledge that he is the one, guess what it isn’t M.S. So you LA guys can go back to your losing ways. I hear your going to have a fun one this Friday, what West Covina. Rumor is West Covina is bring up a some of their JAA players to play against you guys.

I just came from practice and have to say their was a group of about ten parents watching the practice. Nine of them were talking mad crap about the coaching staff, the only one that wasn’t was #12’s dad.

  64. Hopefully CIF gets their act together come playoff time at least! Ya I heard Whetzel was on the sideline, but didn’t know he coached D-line? I take it Coach Smith is gone? Dude was a beast in the weight room. Sad to hear if he is =(, and for the freshman dynasty. Thats the foundation for our program and Whetzel was a great coach for us too

  65. LA Parent,

Why don’t you drop it, #2 was one of your best players, he’s gone. Yes #2 transferred to Diamond Bar. Personally I see a law suite based on the comments made by Coach Arellanes to this young man. Now Los Altos is crying Athletically Motivated Move. If my sons head coach called my son guy, I would have done a little more than transfer him out.

For the record he played Pop Warner till he was 14 year old, based on the way he was playing at LA this year looks like it was a good decision since at the time he was getting no playing time on the LA freshmen team. Which once again brings up the question why is it that such a talented player was getting no playing time at LA.

  66. Nonsense95-
2005 – I remember Mater Dei, Loyola (CIF Champs) and I remember DESTROYING Charter Oak 34-7, Glendora 31-6, and Damien 31-3. I remember ChOak begging out of the final year of the contract. If Amat was”Very Average” – what were they?

2006 I remember Rancho Cucamonga who beat South Hills and St Francis who beat Los Altos. If Amat was “Very Horrible” – hate to describe the Huskies and the Conqs.

2007 I remember Rancho again, who doubled up West Covina that year. Are they even more laughable? I also remember St Paul who was the D3 Champion. And poor Loyola – we own them even when we’re down.

2008 I remember the comeback against OLu. I remember running the table against the locals like West Covina, Damien, and Diamond Ranch by a total score of 106-36. “Very Average”? WestCo was the San Antonio champs and DR went to the finals. That must make the Southeast – “Below Average”? I remember Poly being the #1 team in the nation needing a TD in the final minutes to win. Being a minute away from beating #1 isn’t “getting your asses handed to you” OR “Very Average”

2009 Recruiters? 10-2 was done with players who had been there.

So it seems if Amat was “down” during that time and they come out ahead of ChOak, Shills, WestCo, Glendora, Damien, Los Altos, DRanch – what does that say about the rest of the valley?

    Who do you support again?

  67. To CHHS Alum,

Coach Smith is still at Chino Hills, he is the O-Line Coach and shares Offensive play calling with Coach Lou Randall.

    Go Huskies

  68. Get a Life: Let me see if I have this one straight. This #2 kid from Loss Altos has tranfered to Diamond Bar……to me you have just put the LA mentality into perspective. This parent thinks DB will be better? Does he read the paper?
Wilson Parents: You guys are brutal. If I were to believe you, Wilson should be clearing off that wall space in the office for their CIF Championship plaque. Here is the truth, I’ve seen Wilson play this year. I wasn’t at all impressed. Their QB was an ok athlete but he spent the night running for his life. The defense was pretty bad to. They struggled to move the ball against Diamond Bar who is not known for their defense. (DB has given up 41pts, 53pts, and 34pts in League) and DB lit up the scoreboard against Wilson. But all you guys do is blame the coaches. Hey if you are making soup and it turns out bad. You need to get a new chef. If the new chef takes the same receipe and the soup still turns out bad, maybe it’s not the chef.

    SGV430 Ouuuttt!!!

  69. SGV For 30 Years,

You just proved the parents right, you change the receipt. Who changes the receipt, the chef.

Just for the record when Hoyd was here in 08′ we don’t have the same players in ’10. Well a few of them they were freshmen and sophomres playing varsity.

In 07′ with Coach O we went to the playoffs and lost in the second round. A couple years before that we lost to OL in the semis.

The HUGE difference is we are now in the VVL. Moving from division 7 to division 10 you would expect an improvment in the quality of the game. Sorry but Northview had no business competing with this Wilson team, and they beat us! The coaches viewed this Northview team as a warmup game, didn’t think we had a chance of lossing that game. The same approach they are taking to the Nogales game tomorrow.

We arent talking CIF title we are talking competing with top tier teams in the VVL, we are competing with the lower tie teams in the VVL, we haven’t won a league game yet.

  70. Be careful Wilsonfans. Shrieman will bring u down, he has 9 followers, so he says, so far, 12’s dadstay away”

  71. Wilson can still shake up the VVL by beating SD and BP. A 3 way VVL champion might not be the 3 teams everyone is talking about.

  72. VVL,
And Southern California could have the big earthquake and Covina, Baldwin Park, and San Dimas fall into a giant sink hole …but just like your scenario…what are the odds? šŸ™‚

  73. VVL,
You are right…I’ll go back to work and leave you to your bong and your fantasy. In the cupboard over the fridge is a bag of Fritos you’ll probably be needing them here real quick….

  74. Believe it or not Wilson will win out. VVL knows what hes’s talking about. He has the inside scoop of Wilsons next four game plans. Actualy we all know already, they will run the tripple option because it cant be stopped “O.C.” And everyone is correct, 12 is their QB. But, I say but, if the OC needs to go to 7 in any of these games because his gameplan with 12 doesnt work, 7,his dad, and everyone out here in the valley will know that Z made a horrible mistake going with 12 not 7 and intrusting W with what little he inherited. You are double dared to stick with your starting QB (barring injury or grade issues) the way the rest of the coaches and teams do. Ill repeat it. If u need to go to 7 due to lack of productivity by W’s offense with12, you will be admitting to all, that you messed this team up by not having 7 your QB.

  75. The NV game was the first time I got to see Wilson this year and I was impress with both QB’s as well as the team. I would not sell this team short against the remainder of the season. If your not happy with the play calling and Coaches decisions your not alone, a lot of schools have that. Winning makes it easier to accept. Good luck starting this Friday

A rat (notsince) a snake (COChargerfan) a toad (sgvsbestjerk ) and a few other animals. He is only looking for a nut . So if nuts don’t feed the monkey eventually he will learn to eat the crow that he is now receiving a steady diet of every Friday night . Another helping tonight is coming monkey so please no rattling the bars of your cage because you will be fed tonight.

LA AND DB COACHES ARE BAD. ADD HOT SAUCE TO ANY SOUP AND THE SOUP WILL TAIST BETTER. THESE SCHOOLS NEED MORE THAN HOT SAUSE THEY NEED NEW COACHES. COACHES THAT KNOW THE WAY TO WIN NOT COACHES THAT SIT ON THEIR THUMBS AND COLLECT THEIR CHECK. I BET YOU LA VS DB WILL END UP A TIE. 0-O
