Breaking News: Bishop Amat and Bonita will square off in Baseball on Monday, April 25

Bishop Amat has taken on Northview and South Hills in huge nonleague baseball games the past two years. This year Amat coach Andy Nieto says they have finalized a game with Bonita on Monday, April 25, which will probably be played at Mt. SAC under the lights.

  • amat is in trouble

Amat has no pitching so the only way they can win is to outscore their opponents. They do have some bats though.

  • Witness

No trouble with Amats pitching and the bats are loaded.

  • joemama

amat is in trouble aka whitey

  • Amat is in trouble

They basically had 2 pitchers last year and they are both gone. The cupboard looks bare.

  • Amat69

Amat will trash the Bearcats, Wallace Gonzalez, Jay Anderson, Rio Ruiz, Jordan McCraney, Seby Zavala, just to name a few. The finale score will look a lot like a football game we would have had against Bonita.
Bonita is weak this year, all their best players have moved on. Bonitas got some pitching, but no defense and a weak batting order and no speed for the upcoming season.
I imagine this game will shut kh and the Bearcats up for good!!
    Go Big Blue!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Curioustoknow

Just called Bonita to confirm game with AD and he knows nothing about the game and no contract. Also called Mt. SAC and they have no game for that date on their schedule.

  • Amat69

Dont forget about Adrian Franco, at 1b.
    CF Jay Anderson,
    RF Jordan McCraney
    LF Wallace Gonzalez
This represents the best OF, in high school sports, fastest, most power, best arms,
Rio Ruiz (the Big River) SS, P. Hit .528 last season. Maybe 3B this year
    Adrian Franco 1B,
The big Z Zavala at 3B, Maybe SS
    Camron Cartwright C
    Jon Velasquez Hoover 2B
This represents this years starting lineup and batting order that will destroy the lowly Bearcats!
Oh yea! Lots of pitching coming back this year, including the young flame thrower, Eric Vega!
Good luck to the ladies on the Bonitas varsity baseball team.

  • Amat is in trouble

No one doubts that line up, but what pitching coming back? Eric Vega? Is that the ace? Did he even pitch last year? Let’s face it, amat has to replace 2 quality pitchers from that awesome quarterfinalist team from last year.

  • Amat69

Just Spoke to Andy, GAME ON! Besides Fred wouldnt say it if it werent so would he? Whats so great about the mighty Bearcats???? A little pitching a little speed no arms no bats, who you got? Is it a secret? Amat is in trouble, you make me laugh! I hear a lot of yappin, and I gave you our lineup and batting order that will drag the field with you, again I ask; who you got?
    Good luck Ladycats!
Fred, who do you like in this game?

  • Don

It must be mighty embarrassing to those Amat fans who have shown exhibited grace and class over the years to have guys like this anot69 guy com on here, posting three times in a couple hours all about how his Lancers are going to mop up the field with any opponent.

Lemme guess, this is the guy who printed up the ‘Amat Nation’ t shirts, right? Or maybe what used to be Amat boosting is now confused with boasting.

  • jcaz

I think KH finally got his wish…

  • Amat69

    Don,
Interesting how nobodys coming to Bonitas defense here! All the really top players are gone from last years CIF second place finish, is it because Bonitas fans have too much class to comment? I done thin so Lucy! kh and other Bohi bloggers has been running their mouths for years. This is a great day for us because its going to be settled on the field and not in khs vapid little mind.

  • DugOut

Here’s the deal! Bonita has Mcreery(6’8″ LHP) on the mound and if he can go the distance they will win. If he falters its over. Bonita does not have bats to generate big noise, but they do have solid fielding. Amat on the other hand has a bunch of overrated ball players. Anderson made a mistake to leave football. Gonzalez can’t hit an offspeed pitch and McCraney is a liability in the OF and strikes out more than he hits. Amat has no pitching.

    I predict Bonita will win.

  • Amat69

    Dug Out,
The only player on Bonita according to you is Mcreery (6’8″ LHP) you better pray he can go the distance, talk about overrated, whats so great about this guy? Sounds like you have a one man wannabe team. Anderson is a stud! Youll see him in the bigs some day, and hes better than anyone Bonita has. I dont even think youre a Bohi fan your argument is so weak!

AMAT played agianst PCC yestarday without rio or wallace && they looked good. they ended up winning the game but thats besides the point. i saw it for myself and the fact is that AMAT does have pitching and its good pitching. i mean its no PAEZ but i like to think that a couple of these guys have the potential to be greater then MCNITT ever was. there’s this kid named JAVY INICUEZ or INIGUEZ or something like that but anyways i personally think we should keep an eye on him this year. this kids got a nice frame and throws the ball well. he hits his spots and has a nice presence on the mound. ZAMORA looked a little shackie but he did well on the mound last year as a sophomore. I can really see BERG in a closing role and AMAT had a bunch of other guys that know hom to throw the ball too. everyone is saying that AMAT has no pitching but the truth is that these kids havent had a chance to prove themselves these past few years because they’ve had D1 bound guys like PAEZ ZUNIGA and MCNITT on the mound. COACH BECK knows whats he’s doing over there. BONITA stands no shot..

  • Don

The thing I have a problem with is how does Bishop Amat, with so much to be proud of, so much history and so much success still manage to find parents who are happy only in denigrating other programs. Be happy with how well things are going in football, let the boys play their games and leave the chest thumping to the guys with the horny hats at those Raider’s tailgate parties.

As far as comparing the two teams from last season:

Bonita lost the Championship Game by a run, in Division 3.

Bishop Amat lost the Quarterfinal contest by four runs, in Division 4.

Bonita retained from that team their starting Catcher, Center Fielder, Right Fielder, and a middle infielder along with a LHP that carried a 2.35 era over more than 60 innings. They also return, another half dozen kids who shared over 200 Varsity AB’s, 40 runs, and 35 rbi’s.

Amat returns only one Pitcher with more than 10 Varsity innings, Zamora. He has talent, but will he be a McNitt, an Olivares, a Zuniga, a Paez or an Chris Eusebio? Big shoes, and a lot of innings to fill. They retained most of the offense, graduating only Joe Eusebio and JMac among the everyday players. That is huge but what will be more important will be how they fill the 150 innings McNitt and PP threw last season.

  • Reality

Ok all you haters. Amat still has time to get some pitchers ready for 2011. Hoppy will figure it out. As to returning offense well the jury is still out. They were like a water faucet hot then cold. Hopefullly half pint can teach his players to hit the off speed if not they are in for a long season. Pitching staff will develope it is the leadership. Who will lead this team of great players hmmmmmm. Because like we all know there will be errors and a lot of them. It is the Amat way. Can they win or not. They will brezee through regular season. How will they do against quality teams. Really no Paez on the mound big void. No Jmac to catch. Lets not leave out McNitt I mean huge shoes to fill good luck. And oh yeah no more rolled bats shave bats the famous blue bat that just poof it disappeared lets not forget what happen last year at Amat. Before you says they did not have those bats then you are blind and those players were using them. That is a fact. So good luck Amat. Remember cheaters never win. “Blue Bats”

  • just sayin’

Don – the same way other schools in the valley manage to find parents who revel in any Amat failure and predict before every season and every game that it is an impending failure. which comes first – the chicken or the egg?

  • Amat69

Rolled bats shave bats and the famous blue bat, Ive never heard so much crap! Now you Bonita fans have hit a new low, whats next, steroids? So what if Bonita has their starting Catcher, Center Fielder, Right Fielder, and a middle infielder. Need I remind you we are better in every position up and down the lineup and, all but Gonzalez are returning players.
    Amat,
    1) CF Jay Anderson, hit 340
    2) RF Jordan McCraney, hit 333
    3) LF Wallace Gonzalez, skys the limit.
    4) SS Rio Ruiz, hit 528 need I say more?
    5) 1B Adrian Franco, hit 334
    6) 3B Zavala hit 317
    7) C Camron Cartwright, hit 333
    8) 2B Jon Velasquez hit 260, sucks a little with the bat, only hole in the batting order.
    Bonita Bearkittens,
    1) CF M. Gelalich, hit 494
    2) RF Kc Huth, hit 316
    3) 2B R Mier hit 435
    4) C M Lindsay hit 317
    5) 1B M Rodriguez hit 304
    6) LF T Castro hit 280
    7) SS J Garza hit 261
    8) 3B A Rojas hit 231
Cliff Lee couldnt make that lineup work for Bonita, YOU GIRLS ARE LIKE THE LITTLE TRAIN THAT COULD.

  • AMAT 73

    Don,
You have yours and we have ours. The problem is how do you really know who is behind what post unless you see the little registration mark by their screen name . It could be anyone posting so to make a statement like that is kind of off the wall . The main problem is there are so many real or fake AMAT bloggers it’s hard to keep track of who’s real and who’s not . It’s not like there are only 3 of us in here posting like there is with Bonita . No slam, but after you , kh , Aaron and maybe JFR ocassionally but he’s really a CO honk, I can’t recall any other real Bonita honks.

  • Amat69

    Amat 73,
What do you think about this big game coming up?
Other than the 1st and 3rd hitters, nothing to worry about, whats your opinion on the upcoming game?

  • AMAT 73

    AMAT69,
In case you haven’t noticed we are on a great run in football right now . Alemany this Friday and then on to CIF . Not thinking too much about a baseball game in April at this moment. I will have to wait on that because right now it’s way to early to tell but I do know Bonita always fields very good teams and they are not to be overlooked. It should be a very competitive game with much of the SGV looking on . I am glad the game is on as we will see plenty of talk as we get closer to the date and we will finally put an end to kh’s talk on Bonita baseball vs AMAT as it will be settled on the field and not on the blog. Now back to football, AMAT WILL SHINE FRIDAY NIGHT !!!!!!!!!

  • Reality

We sent our JV team to play Bonita Saturday while the Varsity played at PCC, its true the leadoff hitter CF, crushed the ball and the third hitter 2B, hit the ball hard too, other than that, nothing, a big drop-off, a couple of fly balls got mixed up with the light poll in right field that was in play. They barely beat our JV team.

  • Amat69

    AMAT 73,
I have noticed we are on a great run in football right now! AMAT 73 you cant think of two sports this time of year? I can! But In case you haven’t noticed the header on this thread says; Breaking News: Bishop Amat and Bonita will square off in Baseball on Monday, April 25.
I respect your opinion, thats why I asked for it! I personally think we have a better baseball team than football, I know thats hard to believe because our football team is so good this year, aside from the boys expected to sign at D1 schools on full ride scholarships, we have at least four baseball players that will probably be drafted in the next two years, I can think of two on the football team. And yes, AMAT 73, as always AMAT WILL SHINE FRIDAY NIGHT!!!
P.S. Didnt know till now our jv baseball team was that good.

  • AMAT 73

    AMAT69,
Yes I can think about 2 sports but choose to focus on football . It is scary to think our baseball team will be better than our football team . You know we measure our greatness in the fact of hanging banners in the gym . It seems these last 2 years should have produced the banners but I am just not sure Nieto can lead us there. You must admit he has pulled some boneheaded moves these last 2 seasons in the playoffs and needs to atone for them . Hopefully he has learned by his mistakes and does a better job of managing the team . It’s one thing to have D-1 and draft prospects and it’s another to bring them together and play as a team and do an equally as good a job managing those prospects. As far as prospects on the football team , that is what so great about them , but that another story so that’s my take on the baseball team as of now . Do you know if we will be in the Classic again this year ?

  • Amat69

    AMAT 73,
Yes I believe we are back in the classic again, as for Nieto, I believe he wins in spite of himself, and he tends to be too controlling and arrogant and at times, just doesnt always show the class weve all come to expect at Amat! I just cant believe he would be that way being an SC grad. Go figure! I think this years baseball team is foolproof, at least I hope so, and if we dont go all the way Nieto should go away.
Coach Hagerty has much more respect given to him by his players and staff than Nieto, everyone knows that.
Back to football, this Fridays game is the game of the year; my prediction is we win by 2pts. But win or lose in football we do it with class!
Happy Veterans Day to all the Amat alums. And everyone else who has served our country.

  • Don

You’re right 73, it’s just that I have higher expectations from schools like Amat, and St. Frannies, and Loyola. Probably just that St. Gregory’s education rearing up again. And who from Bonita puts nasty names like ladykittens or bearkittens or calls the other team ladies, and really, besides kh and Aaron, where ARE all of these Bonita posters who have been bragging here for years? If anything, the two that are there, ARE THERE, using there own names right out in the open unlike most who choose to hide behind one or more pen names.

I’ve written here about kh and Aaron before. Aaron is a Bonita kid from a Bonita family, always has been, always will be. They could burn the school down and he’d still be honkin for the Bearcats. As for kh, look at the post he made a couple weeks ago regarding the goals he had his kid draw up during the summer. Every one of them was a TEAM goal but the last, and THAT was an ACADEMIC goal.

If a Lancer can’t appreciate that kind of parent, who can.

And reality . . . you still there? The CF who crushed the ball? That kid was Henley, not even in your pundit #69′s lineup though I suspect he will be come April. You see, this is winterball and all you got was a look at the kids Coach Knott is looking at because that is what winterball is for. Call your own JV’s, (bet you made a lot of new friends with that one), or whatever you like but you aren’t seeing spring lineups in La Verne at a Saturday game in November.

  • Get the facts

Unless Cartwright has decided to comeback to baseball, he will not catch for Amat. Unfortunately he quit the team at end of last season.
Line up is deep with alot of solid players looking for an oppurtunity also. Havent seen Wallace play at all so dont know what he brings to the table hope Nieto doesnt go on a hunch, seen that before.
Pitching is mature, 5 senoirs to lead the way along with Zamora. Vega?
    Positions open:
    P
    3b
    LF

  • Bearcat fan

    69 and 73,
Stop your bitchen about your baseball coach, the problem with your baseball program is threefold, 1st, you dont play in a competitive division D4. So your not used to stepping it up youre always playing down so when the big came comes around you have a tendency to choke! Grow a pair and move up a division. 2nd youre players are overrated, your just not as good as you think you are. Baseball takes skill and smarts up and down the entire lineup. 3rd it takes Heart to win. Heart includes teamwork. This is an area where you are truly lacking!!!!!
Bonita has all of these characteristics, so we will always have a real chance at winning

  • Witness

    @bearcat fan.
Play up? we do and will always play up.
Here’s a list of up play:
    Palm desert
    Mater Dei
    Capo Valley
    Olu
    Chatsworth
    Royal
    SalPointe (AZ)
    LB WIlson
    Lakewood
    South hills
    Edison
    to name a few…

  • AMAT 73

Well Don like I said , you have yours and we have ours. Bearcat fan believe me if we could move up by choice we would shoot straight for D-1 , if your going to move up, go for it all . As far as not stepping it up why don’t you look at AMAT’s schedules from the 2 previous seasons then get back to me . For you to come on here and spew the shiat you just did proves you don’t know shiat about AMAT baseball and there’s no need to come on here and belittle our players on lacking heart and that they have a tendency to choke .Didn’t you see Don’s post on how people from Bonita don’t do that . I stated my feelings on our coach and that’s it . Your statement of grow a pair and move up just proves how big of an idiot you truely are because any fool knows moving a team up is solely done by CIF . Why don’t you just crawl back in your hole and shut your azzhole because that is from where you speak until April 25th and quit embarrassing Don and others from Bonita . But then again you might not be a Bonita honk since you don’t have the ballz to register your name as a know Bonita blogger or is it because you are ashamed of that fact .

  • Saturday’s game

was meaningless. BA sent their JV team. Bonita pitched 3 guys with no varsity pitching experience. The starter hadn’t pitched in 2 years and that was JV. He was a bit wild and gave up some runs in the first. The other lefty was JV last year and shut you guys out for 4 innings. No great accomplishmment since it was your JV team. Finished up with a junior who hadn’t pitched since freshman year. Bonita was missing Garza, huth, rojas and gelelich and was batting guys who you wont see in 4/25 game. you didn’t see their top 3 pitchers Amac, Garza, and Murfett. This game had absolutely no meaning except to get some ABs and pitching time for kids trying to make varsity. Let’s not read anything into it. 4/25 should be a great game. Great pitching and defense against one of the best lineups in the valley. SHould be fun.

  • Bearcat Fan

    Amat 73,
Do you really believe your rant reeks of class? You always find a way to disappoint! Youre the only blogger to come on this thread and use swearing in blogspelling to try and make a point. I was trying to decide who has less class you or Amat69, you win! Don has more class in his little pinky toe than you do in youre entire soul, so stop trying to ride shotgun in his classmobile.
Well Don like I said, you have yours and we have ours. Thats demeaning to Don, so stop it; youre not even close to being in his league! As for choking? We have been honest enough to say it about ourselves, right kh?
Everyone plays tough teams out of league, the difference is youre bragging about it, and now you show a list of teams youve played; it just shows how desperate you are. Man up and get CIF to move you up, Im sure someone in the archdiocese has some clout dont they?
You know whats weak? When one of yours comes on here bragging about barely losing to our winterball team while you sent your varsity to play elsewhere, yeah, truth hurts, grow some!!

  • Aaron

    73,

What’s there to come to defense for. We’re talking about winter ball here. A lot of kids that play winter ball are the ones wanting to be Varsity, some of them already are but there’s a lot of guys practicing and playing inside Glenn Davis Stadium.

As far as Don is concerned…is he a Bonita Honk…I’d say no, is he a fan, well yes. What he says about me is completely true. Over the years you’ll notice he rarely talked about his oldest who was, if anything can be said was the model consummate team player on both the football and baseball teams. As far as registering screen names, you can ask Fred to pull up all the Aaron’s from the last year and a half and the email address should be mine which also bears my last name.

Back to the subject at hand, we’re bickering over a winter ball game that means almost nothing…or is it two winter ball games that equate to zilch in the wins and losses columns. Because if I recall correctly this is the second time the Amat Varsity did not trek up to the foothills of the San Gabriel Range. Now it’s not the big of a deal in the end. However, not giving John Knott everything you’ve got is, well, utterly disrespectful.

Both football teams are on great runs right now and why this is even a discussion makes little sense to me. Good luck against Bishop Alemany.

  • clean up the foul mouth Amat 73

As a female, I have to agree with you Bearcat fan. Amat 73 uses profanity too many times. He should clean up his act or at lest realize that there are women who also read these bloggs.

  • wanna find out how good wallace is?

go to youtube type in his name….look at the video of him at maverik. his swing is TRASHHH!
long, fly’s open, throw the kid a duce and buckles like its the first one he saw. He will be a disapointment come febuary, in the big games against the decent pitching he’s cutting you down to 18outs….and dnt plan on rio hitting another “blast” out of sac. considering that bat wnt be there when they play…its a fact cause its came from someone from the team. guess some bad habtits stick w/u huh?(little league)its funny cause neto knew itwas rolled and still allowed it to be brought? =O i got bonita in this game…..but the one player i dnt think is overated is anderson, the kid can play.

  • you’re right

Wow, youre right, I looked at the you tube videos, Wallace sucks. Hell be lucky to get any playing time at Amat. No wonder Glendoras glad to see him go from their baseball team, hes an out waiting to happen. Wallace, stick with football!!!Why are there so many vides of you? did your dad take these? How Humiliating! Youre also right about Jay Anderson, Ive seen him play and he is the real deal and comes from a great family here in Claremont, loads of class here and he has made the right decision, and looks good playing baseball. Didnt he make the Rays scout team?

  • AMAT 73

    Aaron,
First off I am lost on the meaning of your first sentence. I was posting in regards to Bearcat fan calling our players chokers and that they lack heart. Also a couple of other things on not stepping up and moving up . My main problem was with him calling the boys chokers and no heart which I am sure if someone wrote that about Bonita you would also defend the players to the wall as you have done for the football team . I have nothing but respect for you ,Don , and our beloved kh. My using the term honk to me means a stout fan of a certain school so maybe that will clear it up for you and I meant no harm by that term . People can say anything they want about me but when they come on here and knock our kids or our school with lies and bs I will defend them each and every time . What you wrote about disrespect to Knott is sort of the things I mean when I say Nieto does some boneheaded moves not only during games but in situations like that. As I wrote to 69 Bonita has a fine baseball program and they should not be overlooked as a sure win.
    Bearcat fan,
Never wrote anything about my post being classy at all .You got what you deserved for calling our team chokers and heartless plain and simple . And if the line, you have your and we have ours was so demeaning to Don why did he reply ” you’re right 73″. Then you chime in and proved my point.By the way you have some nerve writing about class with the posting you did knocking high school players as chokers and heartless. Did that make you feel like a man or give you some other joy or do you just hate AMAT that much.

  • Amat Honk

Wow ’73 looks like the blog nation is mighty upset with you? I don’t think your post is all that bad but it does cross the line, IN SOME INSTANCES, with regard to appropriate level of response to a weak argument. Maybe too much caffine that day? Eitherway, I don’t think the indignation and appallment (is that a word?) expressed by “Mom” is on an even keel either…BUT HEY! What about this other clown with the sentence long names??? Is nobody APPALLED, SHOCKED or DISTRESSED by this idiots “Blatant personal attack and attempt at perpetuating a continued character assassination of a High School Athlete on here???? OBVIOUSLY both posts were from the same LOSER. I would think that as a blog nation this type of attack would stir more outrage than a grown up using a few psuedo cuss words to heatedly challenge another blogger on this fine forum of respect and accountability. Where is the call for protection of the student athlete? What if this were your kid? What if it was a player from your team? Is it allowable because others have drug this kid through the mudd on here before? I say NO!!! And to the, person/COWARD/IDIOT who does feel it is OK to come on here and bash kids, ANY KIDS, I say take your SLIMEY A$$ elsewhere!!! This is a forum to pass knowledge, information and opinions NOT a forum for you to launch a PERSONAL ATTACK against ANY coach, player, administrator or person for that matter. C’mon people, ACT LIKE ADULTS or if that is too hard how about civilized, semi-educated and semi-intelligent people????

  • AMAT 73

    AMAT Honk,
Like I said bloggers can say what they want about me but when they try to put down our players they have crossed the line with me and I WILL PUT THEM ON BLAST !!!!Maybe next time I will use terms more in the medical field such as excrement and other terms . It is strange they knock me for a couple of words when Bearcat comes on bold as hell (opps there I go again ) and calls our kids heartless and chokers and then another idiot as you put it calls out WG’s swing as trash and a follower write WG sucks. These are high school kids, but I guess in their feeble minds it’s ok to talk shiat ( opps there it is again ) about kids playing for fun because they love the game . And to the female who agrees with Bearcat , do you also agree with his calling out our Lancer baseball players as chokers and heartless which is why I wrote that reply to him in the first place. I will wait for your reply to that question since you entered into the mix .

  • Bearcat Fan

    Amat Honks,
You are a funny little breed arent you? Your comment; C’mon people, ACT LIKE ADULTS or if that is too hard how about civilized, semi-educated and semi-intelligent people to the WG comments, looks and smells like an inside job, for you semi-educated and semi-intelligent Amat folk, look at your own.
73, what about those banners in the Gym you were talking about? Bishop Amat lost the Quarterfinal contest by four runs, in Division 4. last year with a great team. What do you call that? Honestly, we call it choking, you just blame the coach. When you call something what it is than youre able to correct it.
Bearcat mom, youre absolutely right, Amat Honk and 73, probably the same guy, maybe even the same blasting WG, should have his big mouth washed out with soap and vinegar and then, WATERBOARDED!

  • AMAT 73

    Bearcat,
So you call it choking that we lost in the quarters . So by that statement what did you call it when you lost in the finals ? Fair question don’t you think . And speaking of me being all these posters how do you know the female is a Bearcat mom , she never mentioned any of that only that I use too many cuss words. Could that be your feminine side coming out on the blog. Strange bearcat fan / bearcat mom hmmmmmmmmm.

  • Amat Honk

Bearcat fan – I could careless who you think I am or what your opinion of my opinion is and since I believe that you are not a player, coach or administrator…let me be one of probably many people that have met you in the past and join them in proclaiming YOU TO BE AN IDIOT! While I do sometimes take a wrong turn in my posts and I am definately no stranger to digression and tangents, I do not nor will I ever condone the bashing of players/kids/athletes on this blog! The way you are deflecting my posts it would not strike me in any way odd if YOU turned out to be the MORON who posted the entries on young mister Wallace. Stick to the subject at hand meatball! Do not use this blog to ridicule, downgrade, put down, trash, belittle or otherwise slander the hard efforts of OUR high school athletes!!! NOW…either your with that or against that? THAT IS MY POINT CLOWN!!!! (Amat 73 is a big boy and he can defend his own honor).

  • Don

    Amat73,

I have no idea who Bearcat fan is but he sure doesn’t give up much passion to anyone. FTR, I didn’t say BoHi fans didn’t use nasty words, I just wondered WHO it was doing all of that posting here. Personally, I have found La Verne a lot like Home on the Range, you know the line, seldom is heard a discouraging word. I will say that calling out WG Jr is wrong and assuming the Glendora baseball organization was happy to have him leave is even more so. Always better to leave that personal stuff out of print, IMO. OK to name names if it’s a positive, but no 15, 16, 17 year old kid needs his/her name drug through the mud.

Any assertion that Amat plays at a lower level than that at higher divisions is incorrect, the quality of play among the best teams at the top four or five divisions is all pretty high. Really, the best teams in any of the top four D’s fare much better against each other than any other boys sport. The best in D4, Palm Desert and Amat could have played with nearly anyone.

Division 1 has more top teams, 12 to 15, than the others who may only have two or three but the old on any given day rule is at play with those top teams like nowhere else. Last season D1 champ Mater Dei lost to Amat and St. Paul from D4, South Hills from D3, and Peninsula from the D2.

As far as the Lancers choking’ in the quarters last year, I would suggest Bearcat fans not dip too deeply into that well. I have my own opinions as to what happened and why against Torrance last May but it isn’t for the blog, just my opinion. I would also like to believe most thinking fans would rather measure success of a prep team by the way they played and carried themselves all year and not by one game, won or lost, even if it is in the finals.

Calling a team losers or worse, loosers, just because they didn’t get a ring is just ignorant. Just like calling a team you never played “kittens”, just plain ignorance, which is always sadder than just being stupid because ignorance can be corrected. Mostly.

Now Im sure that Amat Honk and 73 share the same bed. I think you protest too much. I have never and will never bash a kid on any of my posts. If you cant see that the WG bashing is an inside job, look in the mirror at the Clown faced Moronic Idiot!
As for our runner up finish last year; we were very critical of some loafing and lack of hustle, but you should know that Amat 73 since you were on that very same thread posting.
The real difference the way I see it, and remember this is an opinion Blog, is that; Amat had a great ballclub last year and we had a good ballclub last year. We competed in a higher Division than you and went to the final game and lost by 1 run, you failed to make it out of the quarter finals as the overwhelming heavy favorite in a lower Division, what would you call it?
For my opinion of WG? Hes a good baseball player, probably better at football; he used to play over here in Glendora so Ive seen him play several times, I think if he was going out for baseball at Bonita he may have a shot at 1st base as a starter.
You can try and rattle me all you want, but it seems like you are the only one getting upset here!
I am having fun with the facts and you still havent maned up and told me why your boys lost by 4 runs to an inferior team?

  • Amat Honk

Protest to much? Just giving you the facts Ma’am, just the facts. And by your post,”Clown faced Moronic Idiot!” I can see that there is definately no shortage of mirrors in your house. I wont explain the purpose of my post to you again so I will leave it at that. As far as Baseball, don’t really care. Amat plays top-notch baseball. PERIOD. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. We can’t always be winners but we will never stop trying. Play the game. That’s where bragging rights are earned and taken away. To be on here arguing statistics, comparative scoring and trading insults with you is a waste of time. Talk to me on April 26th. Amat Lancers!!!

  • Bearcat Fan

Your rhetoric is startling, still cant man up? No disrespect intended, but now I can see why, Amat 73 has them in his man purse!

  • clean up the foul mouth Amat 73

Amat 73, I am not the same person as is Bearcat, and no, I am not a bearcat mom, but what I am is a person who is sick of your foul mouth. Your name, Amat 73 sugests that you may have attended school at around that time. If that is so, then please act like a grown man instead of an immature infant.

  • AMAT 73

    Bearcat Fan,
Yes we were the favorite and we lost plain and simple. I stated that Nieto made a few bad moves in my earlier post and that’s my opinion. That’s why you play the game because things happen especially in baseball .By the way on PBS they are showing a great program on the history of the game called Baseball and a sportswriter had a great explaination on what makes a baseball game so great and it covered all intangibles that are involved in one game that make a difference on the outcome and how it’s anybody ballgame when it is played. Now I don’t know about this inferior team but they beat us plain and simple. As far as you proding me into saying we choked forget it because that will never happen . That is a term you care to use and I don’t , now if we are talking pros who get paid to do a job then yes I would consider they choke when losing but with young kids who do it for pride and love of the game never. Either way you look at it our teams failed in their pursuit of the championship . Not rattled nor trying to rattle you because like my pal Jcaz always says this blog is mainly for shitzs and giggles so let’s just agree to disagree and put this on hold until our chosen teams meet on the 25th of April . Fair enough ? Truthfully I am not AMAT Honk and I would never not use all capitals when writing anything about AMAT but that’s just how I feel about it.
    Don ,
Very nice post as you always come thru showing a lot of class.

  • just sayin’

bearcatfan – I think your buddy Don said it best

Division 1 has more top teams, 12 to 15, than the others who may only have two or three but the old on any given day rule is at play with those top teams like nowhere else. Last season D1 champ Mater Dei lost to Amat and St. Paul from D4, South Hills from D3, and Peninsula from the D2.”

Amat hit one of those “any given days”

  • Bearcat Fan

Yeah, just sayin, you’re right. But it sure was a fun discussion right?

  • Amat69

    Amat Honk, Amat73,
Did you just get youre butts kicked by a Bearcat?

  • just sayin’

not really – it just proved you’re an obnoxious SOB

  • AMAT 73

    female blogger,
You must read many of my posts inorder for you to make a statement like you just did . And yes I did graduate in 1973 from AMAT so there is no may have on that subject . If it really bothers you that much just scroll past any post you see with AMAT 73 and things should be fine . You still haven’t answered my quetion to you on how you feel about bloggers who call out student athletes by name and sometimes by the numbers on a jersey and berate them saying things as they suck or are trash and the list goes on and on . I think that is a greater injustice then you seeing a word or two like shiat or biatch which many other bloggers consistantly use on this blog. Does AMAT in my screen name have anything to do with your issue me, because lady there are bloggers far worse on here then me in that catagory.

  • Amat Honk

69′er – Re-read the thread and then tell me what you think? My answer would be…Nah.

  • Amat69

    Amat 73,
I re-read the thread and I have to say; more Amat Honk than you got it handed to him by Bearcat, I will say you never got into the name calling like he did which means he got upset therefore losing, while you remained relatively cool, so I stand corrected, thanks for pointing that out. I am no fan of bearcat, but you have to agree some of these posts are cleaver.
Meanwhile, I am really looking forward to the game Friday.
    Go Big Blue!

  • clean up the foul mouth Amat 73

Mr Amat73, You seem to want to flatter yourself. I could care less if you name had Amat in it or if it had hustler magazine attached to it. All I see is a foul mouthed man who needs to grow up. Please stop trying to deflect the issue by putting the blame on other people who blog. It is you who should be accountable for what you do or say not others, and it should be you who should be ashamed of your gross statements.

  • AMAT 73

    female blogger,
Well maam I guess we have hit a stalemate here. Like I said if you are bothered by it just scroll on by my posts. But if you see nothing wrong with bashing high school athletes which is why I replied with the words you find so offensive to Bearcat fan the way I did in the first place then you are worse shape than I am with my blog speak cuss words.

    amat vs bonita
    great match-up
hopefully we wont choke like two weeks ago in football.
amats his a really good team,no dount about it.
bonita has a holes to fill.
again pride could stop the team from winning the cif ring again.
saw danny tesson last night at his girlfriends signing party, great job brea s. her parents are so proud,me too.
back to t-bone,hes about 6-3 218 now my god he looks great.
told me he played in the b squad game yesterday against the so called a unit.
    s.o. 12 hitters with 1 walk.
our 1-2 big mac then t-bone hands down
as we know in h.s. the coaching steff holds all the cards.
the kid will make the varsity this year,or they should fire the whole staff.
how long can you beat down a wounded dog.
it a new season boys and lets get ready to rumble.
last season what they did to k.c. was the biggest joke ive ever seen, broke his pride of being a leader on the field,if your not the leader type of player`when you played, thats your business, but to take the sole and heart out of a nature leader, thats sucks.k.c. has played s.s. his whole life, starting at bonita his fressmen year.the sohp. gio. then jr.year tutle,
so this year i will see him standing in the outfield again which,i can give a rats ass,he is the starting s.s. and 3b for the twins scouting team right now,i guess bonita coaching staff knows more the pros scouts.
this will all come to pass my friends,
just like the year and two months of clean living, boy i fill and look great.
    go bearcats

  • attaboy KH

Way to come on here and slam the baseball coaches. Thought you never did that. Listen, Coach Knott knows what he is doing and does not need your input on the blogs or anywhere else. If KC plays RF, that is where he will help the team the most. He is an awesome outfielder and you should just accept that. I am sure he would be a fine infielder too, but he helps the team more in RF. He and Gelalich saved the Downey games with their defense last year. So much for those “team” goals that Don was talking about. With you, it’s not about the team at all….it’s all about KC and, if the team does well, then great. If not, it wasn’t KC. It was where he was batting in the lineup or where he plays defense. GO AWAY!!!!!!

  • Amat69

    kh,
Didnt that Tesson, T-Bone as you call him pitch on the So Cal Cardinal Blue team? Our Amat guys tore him up this winter. If he is part of a big 1-2 pitching duo, youre in trouble as I see it, whats more troubling is that he struck out 12 of your best so called a unit, yeah, yeah, I know the great kc wasnt there to save the day along with your other football player, but come on kh, you have to admit, thats a really weak team you all have there! Sounds to me like your coaches dont have a clue about lineups and where your boy belongs in it?
This doesnt seem like its going to be much of a match up after all.

  • kh

    amat 69.
    your talking about scouting league,.
where they hand pick the best kids from numbers of try-outers right, they the amat kids are good hitters, but my friend in h.s. there not all stars.couple god hitters pure team.
t-bone will get the start against amat i fill it,been pretty close too filling alot of bonita baseball over the year.nobody but myself ,thats hands down said we would be playing for the ring ,which we did last season, the coaching staff even thaught it was a rebiulding year, they told mr. rod we should compete.
real baseball poeple look thru the bars not at the bars…
we will be strong this season with t-bone on the mound, people laugh at me,it seem i always get the last laugh my friend, not ever talking crap about the coaching staff,i said if t-bone dosnt make the team, the whole staff should find a hole and jump into it.
t-bones dads a 6 degree black belt in kung fu .
how much would you take if you were him,hes the nicest man ive ever met, even god punhishes the sinner.danny was the best all around player on the jv last season, was the m.v.p. but for some reason they didnt have the award last year,,,,,
people need to be held for the actions.
i took a new job and dont even get off intell 400 then 1 1/2 ride home,so at this pace,i will miss alot of the games.boo woo
got burned out, still fill the same way about up coming season,in my heart i support the players, but on the field, its awhole another game..go bearcats

  • Amat69

    kh,
You said, your talking about scouting league,
where they hand pick the best kids from numbers of try-outers right, Well we have Jay Anderson, Rays, Rio Ruiz a junior, Wallace Gonzalez, SGV Arsenal, Franco Adrian, Jordan McCraney, So Cal Sox.Five hand picked kids!
You have a whopping Three on scout teams, your boy kc, Twins as you say, Tesson, a jv player, it makes sense to me now, and Robert Mier So Cal sox with McCraney and six other Damien kids.you really have only two kids from your varsity that made these hand picked scouting league teams from numbers of try-outers.
So it seems Bonitas not even the best High School team in La Verne.
Oh, by the way the coaches always hold all the cards my friend!

  • BHS fan

    kh,
I dont understand what youre saying. Could you re-phrase in English please?

  • kh

we have a couple jr. and soph. playing on world series teams my friend, did you forget our 6-7 lefty who made the area code team big a-mac, jr. henley plays for the t- rangers scouting team too,you guys are good, good luck div-4 play-offs

  • Amat69

    kh,
Congrats on your win tonight, we lost a tuff one.
It seems like you really like this Tasson kid, I guess the question I have is; if you were a pro scout would you put him in the draft and then try to sign him? You did say he was part of the big 1-2 combo at Bonita this year. My sources tell me your #1 may be drafted after this season if all goes well.
    Good luck in CIF.

  • kh

    amat 69
anwsering your ? about putting t-bone on the pro draft list..
no hes 4 years away from minor league ball.
    just like are big lefty,
i didnt say t-bone will be the 1-2 punch,he has to be the best pitcher at bohi just to make the team,
when all the dust clear he will have the best record on the team, not taking away from any other pitchers, but history sometimes repeats it self, and if it dose danny tesson has always had a better record then all off are pitcher going back to l.l.he was the allstar pitcher ever year,in my eyes he still is,i took a team over there last summer and played johns bohi bandits and spanked them 8-3,same team that went to cif championship game,t-bone went 5 inns.for the win and another kid conner v closed them out, both kids only played jv both could of started on all teams in the league,
that god k.c. is alittle above some kids in around talent or he would of been on jv to last season, see some of us parents just dont fit the coaching staffs mode, which i think sucks the big one.connor is as good as any sophmore john had on the team last season, kids been allstar every year,he can pitch with all these guys anyday.
kc throws harder then anybody on the team,he was another kid who would close all of our all star games.but at bohi he will never see the mound, there lost.
would love to make you a line up for bohi.
its a small close town so never mind.
    1-kc s.s -3b
    2-m.g. c.f
    3-r.m 2b
    4-m.r. rf
    5-a.m -a.r- 1b
    6-m.l c
    7-n.h lf
    8-c.v. 3b
    9-garza p-s.s. lf
    10-castro d-h rf
john will have fun this season he has alot of athletes.
that means guys can play any where..

  • Amat baseball

The pitching for Amat has actually been strong this fall. The varsity is undefeated beating: La Serna, Los Altos, El Rancho, Cal, Southeast and PCC. The pitching staff might not have an ace but it definitely has depth.

  • Amat69

    Amat baseball
Wouldnt you admit: La Serna, Los Altos, El Rancho, Cal, Southeast and PCC, are all easy targets? We ducked Bonita baseball twice this winter, I think a couple of games with Quality opponents like Bonita, Glendora, Cal Lutheran and So Hills would have given us a better idea where were at as a potential team. Only two football guys missing, but then thats the case with most of the teams I just mentioned.
I did a little checking on that line up of kh put up,
    1-kc s.s -3b Twins scout team
2-m.g. c.f SGV Arsenal scout team
3-r.m 2b So Cal Sox scout team
    4-m.r. rf ?
    5-a.m -a.r- 1b Angels scout team
    6-m.l c ?
    7-n.h lf Rays scout team
    8-c.v. 3b ?
    9-garza p-s.s. lf ?
    10-castro d-h rf ?
A few of these kids can really play and they seem to have pitching. Looking at it after a little research, we could be in trouble!

  • kh

    amat69
i dont think andy dodged bonita that day.
he did what he did, nobody cares about winter league.
wrong as a coach, thats my bread and better.
get a close look at the future little guys, during the season head coaches never get to see lower games,
back to the line up amat
madgog rodrigus, plays on one of the bomber teams,
mark l the cather plays on a good travel ball team for years,
castro and garza went to the world series on the covia pony team.with the other power hitting catcher big hessler.
t-bone plays for the st louis cards scouting team and twins team too/
we have a s.s. justin who i think made the jr.national team last season hes only a soph.
we have a red headed lefty who can hit and pitch.theres no lack of talent at bonita.
conner vissey will be the slepper,i hope he buckles down and makes the team,he played for me two summers now like what he brings to the table, should be # 4 pitcher behind murph t-bone a-mac.
but first i have a cif football game to worry about.
the only way alot of the exart kids will play is if k.c. locks down one of the inf. spots.
we could have a senior up the middle which would be hugh.
good luck we still have plently of time.
dame i can here the batting cage in the back yard getting excited,
    later amat69
