Inland Division Prediction: This is easy, Corona Centennial will cruise to the championship

For the first time in years, don’t expect the Chargers to be practicing on Thanksgiving, not with a first-round game at No. 2 Vista Murrieta.

Fred’s explanation: A lot of folks will tell you that with all due respect to Pac-5 powers Mission Viejo and Servite, Corona Centennial is the best team in the Southland with a no-huddle that’s unstoppable because of their giant, mobile, offensive line and QB Michael Eubank. That means you can eliminate whoever stands in their way, like Upland in round two and Redlands East Valley in the semifinals. That’s right, I’m taking Redlands Easy Valley to eliminate the Huskies in round two for a couple reasons. One, Redlands East Valley would have the home game and two, Chino Hills beat them on the road in October, 14-3, and I’m sure a return trip won’t be as kind. For Claremont and Charter Oak, I’m afraid the road ends in the first round, though Claremont has a realistic chance of advancing while the Chargers is a long shot.

1. Corona Centennial (10-0), 2. Vista Murrieta (9-1), 3. Rancho Cucamonga (9-1), 4. Chino Hills (8-2).

    Fred ..

What people don`t seem to understand this is HS football…Last year Grant, ranked eighth in the nation by ESPNRISE.com and the defending California state champion was steam rolling teams averaging 50 points a game and giving up only 3…they had SEVEN shutouts in ten games…And according to everyone they would be the State Bowl Representative…well they lost in the semis to a Rocklin finishing their season 12-1.

    Fred…

One more thing…I think CO has a VERY good chance to take this game…I know for a fact VM coaches were not to happy with this draw..

  • 12th man

Quit squirming it doesnt fancy you!~ Like i said one & done!~ No rematch this year buddy!..You can play out 1000 times in your head, each time differently but your going to get the same result! Thats called “Insanity” you keep doing the same thing over & over & expect different results lol..Hats off to your team they had a great season see you in 2011..No hard feelings Norco!!~

    Inland Division: CHAMPION!!
    CORONA CENTENNIAL

Fred, there is no way REV beats CH. Nice try with the redemtion factor, but I’m not having it. They have no passing game and the first game would have not been close if it were for all the penalties the Homers, I mean refs, had called on CH. Our O-line beat down their D-1 (ha ha) D-line prospects over 3 quarters to the point they cramped up in the 4th. Chino Hills did it without there number one offensive threat Ekpre-Olumo for half the game. We will play them in their house again, but hopefully CIF will hire an officiating crew not living in the orange groves of redlands.

As for VM, they will get into the 2nd round but they will fall. They’ve played no one and will drop.

Upland will give Cent a scare. They are traditionally tough on D, but they are playing the #1 team in CA. Here are my semi and final predictions.

    Semi’s:

CC over CH (prove me wrong boys)

    RC over Norco

    Finals:

    CC over RC

    Go CH Huskies!

  • Norco

    Red Barron…

officials will be from Orange County …and sorry RC does not get by Roosevelt & if they do…they will lose to Norco…

  • there

There is no way rc advances to semis they might not even advance first round. They almost lost to glendora. all baseline and sierra will lose first round.

Clean it up, kids. No need for this, support is what this forum is all about.

    Chino Hills!

  • RCcougars

RC almost lost to Glendora, so they lose in the first round. What an idiot!! We had only 2 starting O-line men play, we had already clinched Baseline league and thought we would just show up and win. We spotted them 28 in the first half. Gave up 0 in second half when we decided to start playing.

I like the Red Baron’s picks they sound good to me. Nobody gonna beat Centeniel, we are all playing for second place.

Norco barely beats Corona 21 to 14. I guess you all lose in the first round. 0 to 0 half time you cant tell me that the kids sometimes look ahead and do not always put that ‘A’ effort out there.

  • Norco

    RC Cougars…

When Norco/Corona play records go out the door…This is a true rivalry game that dates back to the dates back to the early 70`s…As far as anybody beating CC…I guess thats the difference between Norco & all the other schools…Norco dont think that way & is not scared of CC…never have ..never will… Hell we were down 14-0 with 3 min remaining in the first half, we had first and goal at the 5 & got called for three consecutive penalties which pushed the ball back to the 35… subsequently we missed a field go & that 11 play 75yd drive was for nothing…who knows if we score what happens… probably end the half down 14-7 with us getting the ball back to start the half…I guess you can say coulda, shoulda, woulda…but we didn`t and got our arses handed to us…

    From Been There, Done That

This is to recognize all of the “dweeb” parents and their sons who supported all of the fundraisers for the last 4 years….so that the team their son played on could among other expenses have new uniforms this year. Thank all of you, Community Businesses, Neighbors, School Staff, and even the other Students for your support of your son’s program, not sure it made them play better but the “Superstars” (Coaches Favorites) looked good. Congratulations to all of the young men who played their last high school game this past week. You were truly taught “Thanks for playing but life goes on,” when your were told on November 15th to transfer out of football there’s no room in the class for you; you don’t even get to show Football on your transcript for your senior year or that final A for your efforts. Good luck to all of you and be thankful for Assistant Coaches that try to help those who want to play at the next level because most Head Coaches say it’s not their job. All Parents know Head Coaches true colors, but they never say anything because of their sons…Turn in all your stuff and dont let Coaches door hit you on the way out.

  • Chino Hills

    Freddie,
Where do I start ?. The teams that fear playing CC are one and done. The Uplands, RC, Norco, Eastvale, REV, CO, Chino Hills don’t fear anyone. These football teams don’t fear playing talent, they look forward to it, they train all year for it, when it comes they embrace the challenge and revel in it. Playing the best is what it’s all about. We want to play Servite, Mission Viejo, LB Poly, Grant, De La Salle. We don’t care we want to play the best because thats what its all about, bring on CC. When you smirk and write all theses teams off, telling us we don’t have chance, you do these young men a big disservice. I don’t see REV getting by Etiwanda, if they do, Chino Hills will just finish what they started. Remember Freddie “Football is a violent sport played by very violent people” no fear, be careful on those sidelines, you might get some blood on sweater.

  • Centennial all the way

The inland division is tough, what separates Corona Centennial from all the other teams is Micheal Eubanks! No one has a player like him. He may be the best qb in socal next year. 6-6 230 4.7 speed…It’s going CO is a few years away from getting adjusted to this level. Honestly Bishop Amat could not beat CC. They may be the best team in all division this year. They will be in the state bowl. Any how. Hopefully the SGV can make some noise.

  • VMBronco

VM will make it to the Championship game. But of course I am a little biased. But here are the facts: They have a monster D. Their Special Teams is #1 in the IE. They have an All American Punter who is also their D-1 (Utah) quarterback. One running back is going to USC on a track scholarship and the second is blossoming at the right time..VM is not tops in any one area simply because they have so many different weapons to use to rely on. They don’t have to go to any one man . Everyone is a playmaker……But as usual (As you can tell from some of the Big VIII comments) VM is continuously underestimated…But I think they like it that way. The CO/VM game should be a good one. Looking forward to Friday.

  • IE TOWN

Its going to be fun and competitive!

Hey little KH, I guess the cows milk out here isn’t too bad. Remember your words early in the season? Try lining up against this field of teams. LOL

Still waiting for the little cat’s milk to schedule us!

  • RCcougars

    Hey Norco,

You crack me up, rival game. All league games are much different than playing out of conference games. Corona beat only the 3 bottom feeders of ur division. THey lost to the top four teams. They are lucky to be in the playoffs (Corona). That is what I was saying earlier you can not judge one game to another totally. You have rivals, penalties, turnovers and sometimes the kids take a bit go get into action.

Especially funny how you think 1st and goal 3 penalties can not score, could of been 14 to 7 at the half. Almost had them only lost 45 to 0.. Maybe you will get them next time.
Thanks for the laughs, I need some tissue for the tears rolling down my face from all that laughter, oh now my side hurts. Thanks again Norco.

Good post. I study something more challenging on different blogs everyday. It will always be stimulating to learn content from other writers and follow somewhat something from their store. I’d choose to make use of some with the content on my weblog whether or not you don’t mind. Natually I’ll offer you a hyperlink on your web blog. Thanks for sharing.
