  • Respect is Earned

Don’t get to excited about Amats wins here, they haven’t played anybody and they consistently leave thier starters in games to pad stats.
I don’t find anything wrong with a score of 7-0 but when your star player is in for 5 of the 7 goals and the other team has maybe 2 shots on goal, you have no competition. The only reason to play these games is to pad certain players stats.

DIV 3 will be tougher this year, play a tougher schedule before you get my respect.

  • 12th man

I think you typed an error…You put the the Glendora boys soccer team is 6-0 after beating Kennedy 56-53 in overtime in round-robin play..(Sounds like alot of Goals for soccer 56-53) lol..

  • We will see where Amat is after next week. There next 4 games are South Hills, Ayala, La Serna, and Los Altos. Ayala and Los Altos are currently in the top 10 of the division 3 rankings. Amat has a 3-2 win against division 1 Villa Park.

  • T-Shirt?

What the heck is that kid’s t-shirt supposed to mean?

  • Haha!

    Do your Research,

Were you trying ot impress us with saying Amat played and beat Villa Park? Div. 1? So the hell what? They’re 0-4 and freakin’ lost to BELLFLOWER who has only won ONE GAME!

I’m not saying Amat isn’t good. I’ve seen them play and they are VERY good. But honestly, you need to schedule up Lancers! I agree 100% with “Respect is Earned”. They are just trying to pad stats! No wonder you had a 25-0 record last year and lost in the semis!

  • White Fang

First, you nuts bashed Amt’s Football Team; now

your after the girl’s soccer team. Why not

include the basketball teams and wrestling team

as well. Don’y you boys (girls) have any

homework? Oops, I forgot, you people do not take

    college prep courses!

  • Due to the situation with the Amat coach that occurred a couple months ago, Amat really wasn’t able to “schedule up.”

  • tim

hey 12th man, that is basketball and it is in the basketball section. dont be saying fred is wrong unless you thoroughly check cuhz he is good

  • high school spots lover

where’s the rest of the box scores? I watching some games at the El Rancho tournament and saw some good games. Some strong teams like J.W. North and Bonita. Most impressive was that Johnson kid from Northview dropped over 30 again. I would watch out for him.

  • soccer for life

It is nice to know that there are people outside of Bishop Amat who are into our girls soccer program. They know who we played, who we should of played, who we didn’t played, who scored, who didn’t score, who wanted to score, our stats etc etc. etc. It is flattering Thanks.

  • Respect is Earned

Do Your Research and other Amat faithful you’ll did not address the Stat padding. What say you?
The schedule does get more challenging but I still want to hear your opinion on leaving starters in games that the outcome is clearly decided in the first 30 minutes.
Why does such an esteemed coach and school have to win so ugly?

Please drop the Artesia and Bellflower tournaments they are a JOKE!! Stay home and play locally, there are far more challenging games to be had in the hood…

  • lancersoc

Nice game by Amat yesterday. The girls played good solid soccer, nice passing and cutting. The local opponent played kickball.

  • Most of what you mention is supprisingly accurate and that makes me ponder why I hadn’t looked at this in this light previously. Your piece really did switch the light on for me as far as this particular subject goes. Nonetheless at this time there is actually just one factor I am not too cozy with so while I attempt to reconcile that with the core idea of your point, let me observe exactly what the rest of your readers have to point out.Nicely done.

  • Terrific post but I was wondering if you could write a litte more on this topic? I’d be very thankful if you could elaborate a little bit further. Thank you!

  • The very heart of your writing whilst appearing agreeable originally, did not sit properly with me personally after some time. Someplace within the sentences you actually were able to make me a believer unfortunately just for a while. I still have a problem with your jumps in logic and you would do well to fill in those gaps. When you can accomplish that, I will undoubtedly be impressed.

  • FYI – Respect is Earned

Amat apparently played somebody yesterday and got pasted 6-2. Interesting

  • Yikes!

    Hey soccer for life…

Are you flattered by the fact that we all know that you guys got smoked 6-2 yesterday?

Like we all said. Play someone decent and then see what happens. The scary thing is that Ayala is in your division now!

  • Together with every little thing which appears to be developing throughout this subject matter, all your points of view are very stimulating. However, I appologize, but I do not subscribe to your whole suggestion, all be it radical none the less. It seems to everyone that your remarks are generally not totally justified and in simple fact you are yourself not even wholly certain of the argument. In any event I did enjoy examining it.

  • Together with the whole thing that appears to be developing throughout this specific subject matter, many of your viewpoints are quite exciting. Nevertheless, I beg your pardon, but I do not subscribe to your entire theory, all be it exciting none the less. It would seem to me that your commentary are not completely justified and in simple fact you are generally your self not even wholly certain of the point. In any event I did appreciate looking at it.

  • The root of your writing while appearing agreeable originally, did not work perfectly with me personally after some time. Someplace within the paragraphs you actually managed to make me a believer unfortunately just for a short while. I still have got a problem with your leaps in logic and you would do well to fill in all those breaks. In the event that you actually can accomplish that, I could definitely end up being impressed.

  • Together with the whole thing that appears to be developing inside this particular subject matter, all your viewpoints are actually rather refreshing. Even so, I am sorry, but I can not give credence to your whole idea, all be it exhilarating none the less. It seems to everyone that your commentary are not totally justified and in fact you are yourself not fully convinced of your argument. In any case I did enjoy examining it.

Yes, Amat did lose 6-2, but they were missing 2 defenders because of illness. So, other players were not playing their normal positions. Had they had all their girls healthy and playing, I guarantee it would have been a different game.

  • soccer lvr

Losing because a team is missing two players is no excuse. The other players need to step it up. That is one reason I don’t like players who are “specialized.” I have heard, “That is not my position,” so many times.

Last year, in the first rounds of CIF Lizbeth Rodriguez was out for the season. Sierra Vista continued and won CIF. Mindful that Lizbeth was part of our leading forward duo with Vanessa Carlos. The coach has always said that no one player makes the team. If a player is down, then the rest of the team needs to step it up. And they did. Jasmine Loera plays middle, but when she is needed she can play any position, being a strong defensive player. In a game last year, the sweeper was carded. Jasmine was able to step in and did a great job covering for the sweeper. I believe that players need to learn more than one position. Yes, excell in one, but learn how to play another position. That will make you a more valuable player.

  • soccer for life

yikes! my opinion dosen’t change whether we win or lose, and about our lost, we will move on just like every other team does, I am sure your know about that. As for your comment regarding them being in the same division, hey I do hope we get to play them in the future, but this time with our 2 missing player, our sweeper and our solid defender.Trust me, I have no worries about that.

  • well done!nice job!

  • Along with every thing which appears to be developing within this specific area, all your perspectives happen to be somewhat radical. However, I beg your pardon, because I can not subscribe to your entire suggestion, all be it exhilarating none the less. It appears to everybody that your remarks are not totally validated and in fact you are yourself not even completely certain of your assertion. In any case I did enjoy reading through it.
