Girls Volleyball: St. Lucy’s and Chino Hills lead the way in CIF-SS postseason awards

St. Lucy’s senior Deanna Dalton was named the CIF-SS Division 2AA volleyball Player of the Year on Tuesday, and St. Lucy’s coach Sean Douglas was named Coach of the Year after leading the Regents to their first CIF championship in school history. Dalton, who finished with 242 kills and 250 digs, helped St. Lucy’s win the CIF-SS Division 2AA title on Nov. 20 and the CIF State tournament Southern California final on Nov. 30. Senior middle blocker Alissa Young and junior setter Jackie Macy of St. Lucy’s were named first-team all-CIF. (To continue, click thread).


Senior Jordyn Siko and junior Heather Trueman of the Chino Hills team that lost the CIF final to St. Lucy’s also were named first-team all-CIF.

Los Osos (and University of Georgia- bound) middle blocker Jasmine Eatmon, league MVP with 255 kills and 43 blocks for the Baseline League champions, was the lone local player named to the all-CIF first team in Division 1A.

Kathleen Torres, a junior outside hitter from Diamond Bar, was selected first-team all-CIF with a whopping 329 kills and 240 digs for the Brahmas, who finished fourth in the Hacienda League but reached the quarterfinals.

Nicole Ellis, senior outside hitter from Valle Vista League champ and Division 3A No. 2 seed San Dimas, was named first-team all-CIF after compiling 199 kills and 170 digs.

Summit’s Lashay Cason was selected to the Division 4AA all-CIF first team with 189 kills on the season.
