West Covina tournament: Charter Oak High School’s boys basketball team overcame an 18-point halftime deficit to knock off San Dimas 52-47 in the opening game of the West Covina Tournament on Monday.

Boys Hoops highlights: Damien and Bishop Amat both won round-robin games in the West Covina tournament, Damien beating Nogales 81-41 behind 13 points from Chris Reyes and J.P Chakbazof, and Amat crushing Don Lugo 74-51 behind 20 from Daniel Rodriguez.
Girls Hoops highlights: Bishop Amat and Sierra Vista are off to quick starts again, and will meet in the second round of the Arroyo tournament on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Bishop Amat improved to 6-1 with a 61-18 win over San Marino while Sierra Vista improved to 5-1 with a 47-13 win over Mountain View.
