I wish I understood too, they re-pooled and already have decided the weekend schedule, I’m just passing it along. If it were up to me, all tournaments would play bracket tournaments instead of round-robins

Why does your schedule at the bottom say (Championship: Damien vs West Covina, 7 p.m.

  • huh

I don’t get the story and the pairings you have listed.

    Fred,
It should be a great game. Amat has no bigs to cover Reyes in the post but Damien has no one to stop Rodriguez. Damien needs to control the tempo and feed their big monster inside. Amat goes as far as Rodriguez takes them. Damien needs to take the ball out of his hands. He rebounds and pushes the ball up the court making him hard to defend. I see Damien pulling it out in a close game. Fred what do you think?

  • depends

If the Bishop Amat girls play at the same time in the Arroyo Tournament – Damien wins big. If not and Coach Wiard is able to be on the Amat boys bench to provide some semblance of coaching adjustments then Amat has a chance. We know the brains behind that operation – and it absolutely isn’t the head coach.

  • wth?

How is that fair for being a “tournament” if both CO. Amat, and Damien are all 2-0 in the tourney but Bishop and Damien just get picked to play in the finals? How is that fair?

  • I heard

Damien and CO did not want to play each other because they are in the same league, so i think that is how it is now, BA and Damien in the final.

i played travel ball with danny rodriguez since his freshman year. he’s gonna dominate on saturday. but idk if it’ll be enough to beat damien.

Ryan Tatera and JP Chakbazof of Damien are each better then Rodriguez, that game should be a sold 15-20pt game like all of Damien’s games except for Brea Olinda was. They are up to 11 in the times, an easy win to move into the top 10.

having seen both teams play more than a couple times each….i have actually seen Damien a few more times…I believe Sparky that you must first realize that this is early in the season and both of these teams are tuning up for eventual league competition…I would hope that would be your take too as the Damien team and the Amat Team are both far from this GOAL based on what I have seen to date. I believe that the time for now is to work to find that rhythm that both team will need to survive their respective leagues and clearing Amat will have a higher mountain to climb…having to deal with the likes of Serra and Bishop Montgomery. For now boys play and work hard and have some fun….I am sure your respective coaches would want the same from you.
