Los Altos’ Joe Munoz going to San Diego State

Los Altos junior infielder Joe Munoz has given a verbal commitment to San Diego State on a baseball scholarship. Munoz is a 6-3 junior who will play shortstop and pitch for the Conquerors this season. Last year he was named first-team All-Miramonte after hitting .381 with three homers and 21 RBIs.

Has anyone else noticed how many underclassman “verbally committ” to SDSU? They must have a squad the size of a football team.

  • Maribel Muoz

Congratulation Lil’ Joe ! Continue with your PLAN and everything is possible. You continue to make us PROUD!!

  • S Cazares

I’ve never been that impressed w/ Munoz…but good for him…hope he does well at SDSU.

S CAZARES SAYS HE HAS NEVER BEEN IMPRESSED WITH MUNOZ,,,THIS MUST BE A COMMENT FROM A JEALOUS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT. OH YEAH MISTER OR MISS S CAZARES, IF YOU ARE AN ADULT, WELL THEN SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR DARK SOUL. GOOD FOR YOU JOE MUNOZ AND MAY GOD WATCH OVER YOU ALWAYS. DON’T LET THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS GET TO YOU. I’VE SEEN YOU PLAY BASEBALL AND YOUR PASSION FOR THE GAME. ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS THAT YOU HAVE PLAYED BASEBALL WITH HAVE SAID GOOD FOR YOU.

Congratulations to the Munoz Family for a great accomplishment. We are all credited to an opinion just as Arakawa and Cazares but lets face it the kid is still raw in some aspects of the game. If I remember correctly some scouts have said he has attitude outbursts at times. There is a good upside, his height and athleticism. I wonder what position he will play at the next level??

  • Random

Good for you Munoz, Great Athlete. Attitude needs to stop though college coaches wont care how good you are they will send you packing.

    Joe.
I hear the all positions are wide open at Bonita, if you want a chance at a CIF ring; you have to make the move!
Good luck at SDSU lots of baseball players have verbally committed there, be careful!

Good for Gano, Joe, good lead for you to follow!
Get out while you still can!

  • grow up

Steve Cazares…grow up and get out of high school! I’m impressed for a Jr. student committing to a 4 year University and getting a education. It is impressive seeing his talent pay off for a life time of hard work. However, what I’m not impressed of is a grown up man opinionating on young kid’s decision for their future. Geeze…who stays at the same freaking high school to stay the popular wanna be? Grow a pair and enter the real working force you hyped up ASB member.

nobody at bonita would except that kid over here,
    he knows why.
he popped off every game we played them then finnally he came in to pitch at are park.we scored 12 runs in 2 innings,3 hr bonita players were fighting at the bat rack to get some swings in,
he has a few tools, his best tools this mouth.
he wouldnot make bonita starting team,.facts are facts jack, thats why you dont burn the bridge you cross…

STAY AT LOS ALTOS JOE MUNOZ. YOUR SKILLS AND HARD WORK WILL GET YOU NOTICED. YOU DON’T NEED TO GO TO OTHER SCHOOLS. THERE IS SOME GOOD TALENT AROUND YOU, SUCH AS STEVEN CAMBEROS AND CHRIS CORONA. KEEP YOUR HEAD HIGH AND IGNORE THE NEGATIVE POSTS. IT’S NOTHING MORE THAN IGNORANCE AND JEALOUSY. IF YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE PROUD OF YOU, THEN THAT’S WHAT YOU SHOULD CARE ABOUT.
