And a special thanks to all of you for contributing to the blogs and making the San Gabriel Valley a fun high school sports experience. Merry Christmas
I am sure I speak for everyone in the blogging world. I know you do it for the “love of (covering) the game”, but thank you and all at the newspaper for the time(countless hours)you spend above and beyond the normal working day to cover all the prep sports in this area.

(With apologies to Clement Clarke Moore )

Twas the night after Christmas and all through the blog,
were quiet little bloggers, Princes all, not one single frog.
Sweet and still they were and for good reason too,
to a man and woman they knew old St. Nick was not through.

Now the kiddies were asleep, knocked out in their racks,
dreaming about the Christmas haul, sporting goods, toys, and pj’s all unpacked.
Mama was dozing, Pops too was abed,
with credit card rates swirling all round his head.

When out in the den there came such a noise,
that Papa sprang up thinking, those kids, blasted electronic toys.
Playing that Madden again or shreddin with Hawk,
I’ll fix there lil wagons when I unplug that damn box.

But the only light shining came from Pop’s old PC,
flickering and glimmering like a 60′s TV.
How can it be, thought Dad, the sleep-saver’s running,
this thing can’t be on, I’m being tricked, somebodies funning.

But right there on the screen, printing quick as a wink,
was a message for all, typing quicker ‘n’ you could think.
Printing on a background so green, as green as a frog, was a message for all,
Holy Moley, thought Dad, this thing’s on the blog.

Merry Christmas to all, Hanukkah is still going hearty,
if you like, Kwanzaa’s fine, celebrate life, be safe not the death of the party .

Pop thought it was done, thought there would be nothing more,
but when the ‘puter kept typing, he thought he’d fall right through the floor.

    Now Bulldogs! Now Lancers!
It read, now Chargers and Bearcats!
    On Tartans! On Saints!
    On Huskies and Wildcats!

    Now Spartans! Now Aztecs!
    Now Colts and Apaches!
    On Panthers! On ‘Stangs!
    On Wolfpack and Knights!
You all are champions, always fun on Friday night.

Happy New Year to all, and to all, a good night.

Thanks to all for the Holiday wishes and Merry Christmas to all.

    .

  • Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas ::: Even to:

    a) Football Jones – even though we hope he just shows up at the Wilson Badmiton competitions

    b) 12th Man – who unless you are an Aggie from Texas A&M you shouldnt be using their trademark which they started in 1927

    c) tcbruin – who doesnt realize that there are actually 8 state championship games in Texas – and is very very uninformed if he thinks you can buy your way to the All American week at Charleston SC

    d) Amat 73

    e) Colt 74

    f) Los Altos AD – who maybe is only a Grinch 364 days a year

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to Fred, Aram, Steve, Tom & the rest of the trib staff, also to all bloggers out their. Weather we agree or disagree its fun having an outlet like this to vent our opinions, not very many places like this for the avaerage highschool sports fan, there is a few nice message boards out there but unless your one of the football farms there won’t be much about your team on there.

    "another enormous crowd Fred" Tesoro,
    Context please.
That game was for a state championship for the ENTIRE state of Texas and held at a professional[much larger] venue.

Amat/Tesoro was one of about 150 games in CIF SS ALONE THAT night.

IF Amat/Tesoro had been for a championship the crowd would have been MUCH bigger.

Ok, 8 games vs 150 games. I still stand by what I wrote.

Question: was that 40k a cumulative total for the ENTIRE 8 games? If so, that would make the AVERAGE crowd per game 5k. You ARE a math teacher in the HLPUSD, right?

    P.S. to Football Jones,

Only ‘requirement’ for NUC participation appears to be to pay a fee. WOW!

Why go all the way to SC when the an NUC is coming to LA end of 2/11? Answer THIS question.

Well I went to the NUC webpage and went thru the steps of signing a player up. All the process appears to require IS to pay a fee. IF this is incorrect, please advise how the process[nominations/eligibility] DOES work.

  • And There They Go!

Off to Santa Anita today! Need a little fun watching the ponies.

    Peace to all…

  • kh

    fred clause
can you correct the name on damein
    all leaguer,punter/kicker .
    its donny hageman/
    not denny hageman/
    hes a sr.
    not a jr.
thats all for now, heading to santa anita for openning day at the races.

  • NUC – then let’s move on

All participants must receive a invitation from NUC itself – There are only 4 ways to get to the NUC All World Week which starts tomorrow Dec 27:

    1) be recommended by the coaches who performed the 5 regional and 1 national combines during the combine season

    2) be recommended by the sports television network covering the events

3 & 4) be recommended by one of the top two college football player ranking and recruiting groups

those are the only ways to get there – instead of complaining and putting the athletes down- just support the ones that were invited and in attendance – in fact the starting QB for the West at Friday’s televised all star game is Micheal Eubanks – the QB from Corona Centential
