Mike "The Cousin" Robledo recaps his year on Coveritlive -- Join him in the season finale on Friday when West Covina meets Bonita for the Southeast title at 7 p.m.

By Mike Robledo
It was a great ride this season covering the SGV on Coveritlive. This being my first full year riding shotgun as your host on Coveritlive, I got to cover 18 different teams over the course of a 15-week season. I covered games from the stands (Dominguez & Alemany), the roof of a press box (Ganesha High) and nearly froze to death on a 50-foot platform at Muir High. With the exception of a school I will not name, each and every school was gracious in allowing me to bring you Coveritlive.
A very special thanks to all the readers who logged on and participated. We certainly gained momentum in viewership and participation as the playoffs progressed. During last weekend's dual Coveritlive with Fred and myself, we peaked at over 2000 comments during the course of the evening.
A final thanks to Fred for having the faith to send his little cousin to bring you these games. There were more than a few occasions when Fred (and even Aram) would upset the masses with a blog post or an opinion in a column, then readers would spot me in the press box and let me have it, thinking I was Fred. Your passion comes through not only here on Fred's blog, but at the games as well. It's what High School sports is all about.
Entering the final weekend of the 2010 football season, here are some of my memorable (and not so memorable) moments this football year on Coveritlive: (To continue, click thread)
Best Game: Crespi vs Bishop Amat
This was the opening game in the brutal Serra league and not only didn't disappoint, but more than lived up to the hype. The Lancers saw a 17-0 lead disappear and even trailed late in the 3rd quarter 21-17 before rallying to defeat the Celts 31-28 behind the running of Jalen Moore, which brings us to...
Best Individual Performance: Jalen Moore vs Crespi
Moore rushed for 263 yards on 32 carries, breaking one for 51 in the process. Moore would go on to be named Serra League Offensive Player of Year.
Biggest Blowout: Diamond Bar vs Diamond Ranch
Dubbed the battle of the "Diamonds," this was the opener in the newly created Hacienda League. Diamond Ranch entered this game with a 1-3 record and appeared ripe for the picking for Diamond Bar, who came in with a 4-0 record. What I'll remember from this 41-0 blowout the Panthers laid on the Brahmas was a reader tracking the Bishop Amat score, cleverly commenting, "Who will score more points, Bishop Amat or Diamond Ranch"?
Biggest Letdown: West Covina vs Bonita I
Bonita entered this matchup undefeated, while West Covina was rolling opponents after suffering a Week Zero loss to Covina. For me personally, this was a game I was anxious to cover, believing the winner would seal the Hacienda title. Well, the game turned into another Bulldogs blowout, crushing the Bearcats 55-21. While the result was a letdown, I again anxiously await their re-match in the CIF Southeast final Friday night @ Walnut High School.
Best Finish: Covina vs San Dimas
Trailing 23-6 at halftime, the Colts furiously rallied in the 2nd half while not allowing the Saints to score. The Saints, trying to put the game away, turned the ball over on downs and the Colts drove it 75 yards for the game winning score when Billy Livingston connected with Andrew Carrillo with :28 left, giving the Colts an improbable 27-23 victory and clinching the Valle Vista title outright.
Looking forward to coming back in 2011!

There's clearly some bundle for you to identify concerning this. I just assume you've made various attractive issues inside attributes likewise.
Oh yeah i almost forgot to ask you, have you ever considdered drawing Lucifer? As in before he fell from glory. While he was still beautiful and perfect according to the descriptions given of him in Ezekiel 28v12 & Isaiah 14v12. Those verses gives some insight on what the prince of darkness used to look like while still in service to God in heaven.
I tend not to understand until the end of that which is written here, because I do not know English so well. You may write it more appears? Check Best way to lose weight.
Samp. But if you do, sir, am for you. I serve as good a man as you.
I enjoy your wp layout, where did you get a hold of it?
If you're still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you'll know which is right for you.
I'm not convinced of that...
Keep working ,great job!
Your place is valueble for me. Thanks!…
I am impressed, I have to say. Very seldom do I discovered a blog thats both educational and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your opinion is outstanding; the issue is something that not a lot of people are talking intelligently about. I'm really happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to it.
Nice Job Mike.
Nice Hat Mike!
Go Bearcats!
Nice job this season Mike. You did an outstanding job and handled the coveritlive quite well .I have got to say some of the posts on there were unbelievebly funny. Great banter and give and take. Having you at the away games was great as there was virtually none of the hater and putdown bs we see on the blog everyday which made coverit much more enjoyable. And so many people posting in scores from other games was great also. As Joe put it with a slight spin, you can please all of the bloggers some of time and some of the bloggers all of the time but you pleased all of the LANCERS all of the time. Great job and looking forward to this Friday's feed .
Thank you,
AMAT 73
Mike,
Nice meeting you at the West Co Bonita game, didn't ever get a chance to post on cover it live but I would read it whenever I got home from the games on Friday nights, I agree with Joe, Cover it live along with the video's Tom Kiss does is a nice enhancement to the blog.
Fred, Aram, Steve, your work on these blogs is much appreciated.
Another very special thanks to Mike!
I do have to second Aram's comments about you and Tom adding to the quality of coverage. Freddy, Steve, & AT do a great job in taking care of the valley (even though it is thankless in many ways) SO don't listen to anybody and you just do what you do.
Remember - "You can please all the bloggers some of the time, and some of the bloggers all the time, but you cannot please all the bloggers all the time." (so with that being said, just settle for pleasing the Lancers ;-)
and Mike... that was very classy of you not to mention Alemany! Would expect nothing less form a fellow Lancer... ooops -didn't let the cat outta the bag - did I?
Great season guys!
Mike,
I think you became everybody in the Valley's cousin this year. Thanks for the great job you did. What you and Chino Hills Tom brought to the table helped us continue to be the prep sports coverage in the Southland.
Mike,
Great year huh? Thank you for tolerating us at times. You did an outstanding job!
Can't wait for next year and I'll see you at the Saints press box!!
Mike,
Thank you for the coverage. The Bonita vs. La Serna game was followed live by my mother, sister & niece in Singapore! They thoroughly enjoyed following along via the web this "very exciting!" game.
Keep up the good work!
GO BEARCATS!!!!

West Covina vs Walnut??? What happened Bonita take a pass on thier biggest game of the season?
What up Fred?
Thank you Mike, for your work this season!
Mike,
You did a heck-of-a-job this season. From freezing to fighting off Freds lynch mobs. I enjoyed every one of the Coveritlives and some of the "spitited" conversations on there. Thanks for the great job you did this year and for all the upcoming games in advance.
Who knows, with all the money that the Trib and associates are pulling in they may get you a "Hollywood Hotel" setup like they have in NASCAR. Buffet table...Cappuccino Machine...and a Heater.
And if they don't throw in the heated,7 speed, Swedish massage chair...steal the one out of Freds office! You're BIG LEAGUE now!
You were great mike, you have to come back next year, I didn't comment a lot but I checked in all the time, especially when Amat is playing. I couldn't get to any games but I felt the passion reading all the comments and it made my friday nights at work much more enjoyable.
