Bonita rolls in La Canada tourney: Bonita High School’s boys basketball team dealt St. Francis a 50-41 defeat in Pool B round-robin play during the Holiday Classic at La Caada High on Wednesday.

Boys Hoops: West Covina tourney set, Bishop Amat and Damien will meet in Saturday’s finale

The West Covina tournament was re-pooled after round-robin play and the weekend schedule is set, with Bishop Amat and Damien meeting in a highly anticipated finale on Saturday night at 7 p.m.

Chris Reyes pours in 27 points: Damien High School’s boys basketball team remained undefeated after a 63-49 victory over Monrovia in a pool-play game of the West Covina Tournament.

Lisa Fernandez at Bishop Amat on Saturday

One of the most celebrated softball pitchers ever, four-time Olympic gold medal winner Lisa Fernandez, will be the -guest speaker at Bishop Amat’s “A Cut Above,” softball clinic at Bishop Amat high school on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
Because of the strong possibility of rain the clinic has been moved to the school’s gym and will include instruction on hitting, fielding, base running, lunch and a question and answer session with Fernandez.
Pre-registration is $55 and $65 the day of the event. For more information, call 626-430-8443.
Hit and Hustle
Bishop Amat’s annual “Hit and Hustle,” football camp with Lancers coach Steve Hagerty will be held on January 15 from 9-3 p.m., for kids in third through eighth grade.
The $75 fee includes lunch, certificate of participation, t-shirt a group picture and instruction from the Bishop amat football staff.
