Bassett High School head coach Aubrey Duncan is also the head coach of The Los Angeles Amazons women's professional football team, which started in 2002 and are winners of three straight women's professional league football titles with a combined record of 23-1 since 2007.
The Amazons are conducting open tryouts for the 2010 season on Saturday and Dec. 18 at Kelby Park in Covina, located at 815 N. Barranca Ave. Both tryouts start at 9 a.m.
The Amazons are asking that players bring their own workout clothes, plus pay a $25 tryout fee.

These guys... sorry, gals... have been around for a long time - right around the corner. Bassett used to be their home stadium. In fact, their coach is now the Bassett HS coach.
