Never underestimate the heart of a champion. The San Dimas High School girls soccer team had to come from behind to knock off first-place Northview 2-1 in a Valle Vista League showdown Tuesday. The three-time defending champion Saints (14-2-2, 9-1) moved into a first-place tie with the Vikings (17-4. 9-1) with two games left in the regular season.

The Vikings, who never have won a league championship, won the season's first meeting, 3-2, in overtime last month.
Senior defender Audrey Vasquez got the winning goal in the 47th minute on a rebound off a corner kick by Daisy Duran.
"Audrey's good at getting those surprise goals," Saints coach Kelly Kocalis said. "That second half was the longest ever, but but we played really tight as as a team and I was really happy with my defensive line today."
The Vikings scored first on a goal by Khalalah Todd in the 15th minute. Todd, who will sign with New Mexico State University today, was assisted by Kendahl Anderson.
The Saints came right back with a goal by senior Shannon McKee in the 20th minute when she scored on a crossing pass from Maribel Duran.
"That goal was really exhilarating," McKee said. "I think that first game (against Northview) kind of helped us today. We've won league since I was a freshman and we just decided to win this for each other."
Todd, who is the state's leading scorer with 42 goals, had a free kick from five yards outside the penalty area. Saints goalie Rachel Jones caught it on what turned out to be the final play of the game.
"I knew there wasn't much time," Todd said. "But I don't pay any attention to that. There was no pressure. It just didn't go in."
