Wrestling: Davis, Scharbrough, Betancourt go to final four

BAKERSFIELD -- Santa Fe High School's Joey Davis has thought
about it since losing in the finals last March.
Glendora's Haydn Scharbrough and Arroyo's Christian Betancourt had
only recently put it on their radar. But it all points to same goal
-- win a California wrestling title, and the trio put themselves to
live up to the billing Friday, winning quarterfinal matches at the
CIF State championships at Rabobank Arena.
Davis, the top-ranked competitor at 152 pounds; Scharbrough (145)
and Betancourt (112) face semifinal bouts this morning for a shot at
tonight's matches, scheduled for 7.

They are South Hills' Vincent Herrera (119) and Thomas Morales (130)

This isnt SPAM I myself used to wrestle in highschool and I came across this trailer for movie coming out this week with Paul Giamatti about High School Wrestling! Its called Win Win!
http://bit.ly/fwCSDq
why was he disqualified by the CIF doctor? The only thing I can think of is a visible and active skin condition or did he have an injury that the doctor deemed potentially dangerous to your son? He had to have some reason to dq him.
Its disappointing when your son works hard all season, gives it his all to earn his spot at State, just to have it taken away from some "CIF" Physcian. My son came to Bakersfield with the required and verifiable CIF doctors release and followed the CIF guidelines just to have his chance taken from him. What's the point of bringing in the Doctors release if it can be "overruled" and shouldn't all the Wrestlers have to follow the same guidelines?
Regardless, Kyle had an exceptional season and I'm proud of him! Good luck to the other Wrestlers out there representing the San Gabriel Valley.
