Baseball: Damien sweeps Charter Oak, blanks Chargers 3-0

| | Comments (4) |

After Damien beat Charter Oak 8-2 on Monday, the Chargers' playoff hopes took a big hit in the rematch, Damien moving into sole possession of third in the Sierra League with a 3-0 win over Charter Oak on Tuesday. Chad Lee threw a 3-hitter and went the distance for the Spartans, who are now 9-10 and 7-5 in league. The Chargers are two games back of third with four to play, but those four are Chino Hills twice next week, and two with South Hills to end the season. Unless the Chargers make a dramatic turnaround, they won't be playing in the postseason.

Damien Who????? Well, first of all, apparently Fred thought La Puente is good, as he ranked them #8 a few days ago..... secondly, my only issue was that the scores were being reported incorrectly. I don't think I was "pounding my chest", as many of you do on this page! And to answer your question of where have I been? Some of us have a life and don't need to live it vicariously through our sons. I just wanted to put the record straight. Is there a problem with that? GO SPARTA!!!

You guys are pounding your chest beating LP? If you make playoffs, one and done. Sounds like there's some weak teams in this tourney.

Green and Gold: What woke you up? Where were you when the losses were pilling up? Your team chokes against big boys.

Correction Please said:

Damien swept CO! On Monday the Spartans beat CO 8-2. Granados and Segat were 2 for 4, with Segat adding a towering HR. On the mound Gonzales went six with 9K and giving up four hits. Tonite, Damien does it again by beating La Puente 10-0. Granados hits two triples and on the mound Hedges goes the distance. Tomorrow the Spartans take on West Covina 2 Chino HS.
