1. Bishop Amat (20-2) — The Lancers are no longer worried about winning league, but going undefeated and keeping the top-ranking in D-3. They hope to put the finishing touches against La Salle today and St. Joseph on Thursday at home.
2. Bonita (18-4) – Just when you think they might be No. 1, they lose back-to-back to Diamond Bar and Los Altos. They might even lose the Hacienda, falling a game behind West Covina, who they will host on Friday.
3. Chino Hills (17-5) — They did what they had to do, get a split against South Hills to remain a game ahead of SHills in the Sierra standings.
4. South Hills (15-6) — After a 4-3 win over Chino Hills the Huskies get clobbered in the rematch later in the week, 11-1. Still, they’re No. 3 in D-3, just behind Bishop Amat and Oaks Christian.
5. West Covina (13-6) — The Bulldogs are the most disrespected team in Division 2. The Dogs are still not ranked even theough they lead the Hacienda by a game over Bonita, ranked No. 2 in D-2, and well ahead of fourth place Los Altos, ranked No. 7 in D-2. They also beat Los Altos 6-3 in their only head-to-head meeting.
6. Glendora (12-9) — The Tartans’ playoff hopes took a big hit with a pair of losses last week. They’re two games out of third with four to play. Not a good situation to be in, especially in the Baseline.
7. Los Altos (12-5) — A huge 4-2 statement win over Bonita, but they must continue to prove they belong by beating teams they’re supposed to beat, which is sometimes harder than pulling an upset.
8. Duarte (16-2) — Falcons in a class by themselves and ranked No. 2 in Division 5, just behind La Canada. They still don’t have a standout win on the resume, but 16-2 always looks good.
9. San Dimas (16-7) — Thoroughly dominating the Valle Vista with a 9-0 league record. The VVL is way down, however, only San Dimas and Northview have overall winning records.
10. Diamond Bar (12-9) — The Brahmas are in the thick of the Hacienda race and have a sweet schedule to close it out with a game against West Covina in the league finale. If the Brahmas win out, they can do no worse that a tie for the title.
