Breaking News: La Verne Lutheran expected to go independent, will leave Arrowhead League

The La Verne Lutheran Boys Basketball team, the two-time defending state champions, are expected to leave the Arrowhead League, according to sources, and will go independent. A decision is expected soon, I’m told. This is great for Lutheran, who was too powerful for the Arrowhead, and good for the Arrowhead, who will have more competitive games now that Lutheran is gone. Lutheran be able to play in more showcase games, and will be able to set up key marquee non-league games, which means the Valley may finally get a Lutheran-Damien game next season, which is huge next year with both big men (Chris Reyes and Grant Jerrett) back. Lutheran, I’m told, is also willing and would schedule any area teams the first two weeks of December that would wants a game, so I’m waiting for Bishop Amat, Bonita, Glendora, and perhaps Los Altos or Walnut to step up and welcome it. You want competition, here it is, all you have to do is make the calls…..
