Covina’s Remontay McClain wins back-to-back titles in 100 and 200; Price second in 100

State finals wrap-up: McClain ran a 10.39 in the 100 and 20.95 in the 200 to win back-to-back state titles, becoming only the second in history to do it. Clovis’ Jenna Prandini edged Bishop Amat’s Kylie Price in the 100 final, winning in 11.69 to Price’s 11.72.

    Congratulations to Remontay, I second the motion Paul, back to back state titles is very impressive. A great athlete he is.
    Also congratulations to B.J. Lee for
    being third in the state in the 200, that also is
    pretty impressive, had B.J. not had a false start in the prelims for the 100 he would have been Remontays closest competition with a second in the state time of 10.36 in that race, B.J. had improved steadily over the season getting faster times each week, its too bad that a kid can be scratched out of cif for one false start. When your dealing with the top kids in the state, the kids should at least get a second chance if they fase start, why make it so easy for a technicality to knock a top runner out of cif or state competitions.
