San Gabriel Valley All-Star softball game Tuesday at Mt. San Antonio, 6:30

All-Star Preview: The annual San Gabriel Valley Senior All-Star Game is today at 6:30 p.m. at Mt. San Antonio College. Bishop Amat softball coach Jesse Mendez will coach the South team and Monrovia’s Randy Medina and Bonita’s Ken Carlson will coach the North in a game that will honor late Wilson softball and basketball coach Ed Bruyninckx, who died last year.

The San Gabriel Valley senior all-star softball game is set for Tuesday at Mt. San Antonio College. Bishop Amat’s Jesse Mendez will coach the South, and Monrovia’s Randy Medina and Bonita’s Ken Carlson will coach the North. The game will start at 6:30 p.m., and parking is $2. It’s still undecided whether there will be a fee for admission. The game will honor late Wilson softball and basketball coach Ed Bruyninckx, who passed away last year. Bruyninckx’s daughter, Lindsay Schatzman, who replaced Bruyninckx as Wilson’s softball coach, will coach the top of the first inning at first base in honor of her dad. Bruyninckx’s 3-year-old grandson will throw out the first pitch, accompanied by Bruyninckx’s widow, Joyce.

    Good hitting exhibiton by the north team. South didn’t have much pitching. Sanchez looked tired and wasn’t at her best. Dakota did a good job.Loren and Carly were imprerssive on the mound for the North. Defense was horrible by the left side of the south defense. Dufus dad from bonita was giving the Bonita coach the same as the regular season from the stands thinking he was being funny. All in all, the players represented their schools and SGV wwell.
