South Hills loses to eventual champ Long Beach Poly; Bishop Amat hosting 11v11 on Tuesday

South Hills performed well over the weekend at Edison High School’s prestigious “Battle of the Beach,” passing tournament. South Hills defeated San Clemente, La Habra, and missed a game-winning two-point conversion in a loss to Edison (28-27) to close out pool play. In the first-round of the Gold Division playoff bracket, South Hills lost to eventual champion Long Beach Poly, 14-13. On Tuesday, South Hills and Monrovia will be at Glendora for a three-way passing scrimmage that starts at 5 p.m.

Bishop Amat is looking for a fourth team for an 11 vs. 11 passing scrimmage on Tuesday at Bishop Amat. J.W. North, Upland and Bishop Amat will start at 5 p.m. Any teams interested in being part of it should contact coach Steve Hagerty at 626-962-2495 ext. 6001.

Even though it is a scrimmage I would have loved to see it also. Unfortunately Monrovia is already at Glendora on Tuesday.

Wow SaintsR4real you really want to see what Mtown has to offer, you may not have to wait 4 long because this team is getting its reps in this summer before going out in the fall and doing what it has set out to do and that’s to reclaim the Mid-Valley championship trophy. Maddox and Co. are all about business this season. You will get a first hand look at some of the offensive firepower along with DeShawn Ramirez welcome back party. Maddox and Monrovia are not predicating their season on summer scrimmages, they are mainly to get our QB’s some reps and some footwork in. During the regular season this will all pay off and San Dimas will be at Monrovia High School this fall to get a first hand look at all the work that the Monrovia staff has done to prepare these kids for another great run for the Rings. • Where are the Spartans

Damien High School is no where to be found at these passing leagues and no one is reporting this.

It isn’t from a lack of talent either. The Spartans may have acquired the largest pool of transfers in the area and they are disturbingly quiet. They are doing passing leagues in San Diego and from inside the camp, they are inviting Division I teams to their house to do their own passing league week after week.

The questions remain, have all the CIF transfers been given clearance? Is this Gano’s final stand to show he can do something at Damien with 20 + transfers?
