San Gabriel Valley shootout on Saturday; South Hills at Walnut Thursday and "Batttle at the Beach" at Edison High on Saturday

Arroyo High School's annual San Gabriel Valley Shootout is on Saturday at 9 a.m., with the semifinals at 4:25 and the championship at 5:15 p.m. South Hills will visit Walnut for a passing scrimmage Thursday at 5 p.m., then head to Saturday's 13th annual "Battle at the Beach," at Edison High in Huntington Beach starting at 9 a.m. South Hills is in a tough pool that includes Edison, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame and San Clemente. There are many other prominent teams in the 16-team tourney, which include La Habra, Long Beach Poly, Mater Dei, Oaks Christian, Los Alamitos and Tesoro. Tournament playoff games start at 1 p.m., with the Championship game at 3 p.m. If you know other passing scrimmages or tournaments, post them here.

Pool E: Monrovia, Baldwin Park, San Gabriel, La Puente
Pool F: Bonita, Nogales, Alhambra, Whittier Christian
