You missed on week 7..Alemany coming to BA will be for the Serra league title..Not to mention the Lancers are out for revenge from last year’s loss..

  • Fred Robledo

San Dimas, Covina is probably for the Valle Vista League title that night too ..

  • player

Thanks for posting all games thats great.

  • Colt74

THANK-YOU very much Fred! Printed out and ready to go!

  • dbar

Db@ayala week 0 is on friday not thursday

  • SaintsR4real

WEEK 1, 9/09 should be Glendora @ Monrovia. Anaheim a little too far for non- die hard Amat fans.

The Tartan, Billycat game will set the tone for both teams for rest of season.

  • FredJ

When readers pick up the Tribune on Saturday morning, will there be more interest in Glendora-Monrovia or Amat at Servite?

  • Living Legend

Freddy, Freddy, Freddy-How is the game week zero featuring two teams that are in your top 5 not the game of the week?

  • just sayin’

L & L – becaus ethat other game is not on Friday. Read the post!

  • FredJ

Living Legend … these are friday games only

  • AMAT 73

    Fred J ,
I think with all the lip flapping by the cats it just may be the Glendora vs Monrovia game . I know for me it will be but of course I will have been at the Servite game.

  • sarcasm

This post is just additional proof that you seek to promote Bishop Amat! Seriously, you place Amat in two games of the week! Yes, I notice other schools like West Covina, South Hills, Diamond Bar, and Bonita each are featured two games a piece as well but we all know it’s an attempt to hide your unabashed love for the blue and gold!

  • No Way

LaPuente vs Azusa? There has to be a better game to cover than that.

  • Best massacre Predictions

    Week 0 Pomona over Garey
    Week 1 Covina over Gladstone
Week 2 Wilson over Los Altos
Week 3 Rancho Al over Ganesha
Week 4 B Amat over Cathedral
Week 5 San Dimas over Nogales
    Week 6 Walnut over Rowland
Week 7 Bonita over Los Altos
Week 8 West Covina over Los altos
    Week 9 Arroyo over Gabrielino
Week 10 Rosemead over S El Monte

  • Sierra League Fan

FRED! week 10….La Puente vs Azusa…REALLY? How about a little game between Charter Oak & Chino Hills for the Sierra league title?????? WOW! You probably still go to Dodger games too don’t you?

  • Coach

    Best massacre Predictions,

Someone doesn’t like Los Altos, I will say they have more talent this year than last. I believe they have more talent than Wilson, but I also agree that Wilson will destory them. Wilson has one of the best coaching staffs in the SGV and Los Altos has one of the worse. Who would have ever thought that their would be a day that you would say that Los Altos has the weakest coaching staff in the Hacienda La Puente School District (Wilson, La Puente, Workman, and Los Altos), and it isn’t even close.

Here is my prediction, Los Altos will end up 1-9 this season, their only win will be Rowland. This years Rowland team is going to be terrible.

  • SaintsR4real

FYI…La Puente @ Azusa @ Citrus College is on Thursday, Nov. 10.

  • Wrong Rancho Team!

    Best Massacre Predictions,

Week 3 won’t be Rancho Alamitos over Ganesha, both are equally bad. The worst beating of week 3 will be Rancho Cucamonga over Charter Oak. RC’s starting qb from last year is returning and though they are losing an excellent rusher in Finau, Papacek should fill in nicely at the rb position, especially with that massive o-line they have. They also have many key players returning on defense. Glendora will be the sleeper of the SGV next season. They will have one of the best rb duos in the SGV, one of the best fullbacks, and probably the best tight end in the SGV along with a strong o-line. Glendora will also be returning some key players on defense. RC vs Glendora will be the best game of week 9. C.O., get through the likes of Rancho Cucamonga and Glendora before you start talking about taking on Bishop Amat!

Fred, tell these people how many Montview games(AZUSA), you have watched and they don’t disappoint! You get your $5.00 WORTH BELIEVE THAT!

I’ve seen Fred at a few GAMES OF THE WEEK and playoff games few years back, and I’ll say this to watch those games again at Citrus College, PRICELESS.

SO SIERRA FAN AND NO WAY, don’t come in here with your nose up in the air and your silver spoon in your mouth.

  • Nothing honey

Wrong Rancho Team! You have to be a dad because you evaluation of Glendora is way off. the sleeper of the valley and week 9….OMG. Your season was way over in week 9 last year and it will be worse this year. It is true you have a great RB duo but for the rest of your comment they are all unproven. Even if it was true your deffense is not going to stop a lick. The defense your running is pass first and you dont have the coverage guys to run it. Every team in baseline will spread you out and run all over you.

  • WOW…

Looks like a tough game for Bishop Amat week #1… that game going to let them know that they don’t belong in Pac-5…they need to move down to Division 4 with Serra (Gardena)…

  • eastsider

@Wow,you must be another Amat hater.just because you lose against 2 year defending pac 5 champs does not mean you dont belong in the Pac 5. if you consistly lose against Pac 5 teams buy a big margin ,then you dont belong. Amat competes at a high level and when they lose they always in the game till the end.there are many teams in the pac 5 that lose in the playoffs and have not won a championship in many years,do they not belong also?

  • WOW…

    no eastsider.

im being a realist. Bishop Amat cant compete in pac 5 with teams like Tesoro, Mission Viejo, Long Beach Poly, Lakewood, San Clemente, and Edison..these teams dont have to rebuild like Bishop Amat they just RELOAD.

Now if they move down to Divison 4 with teams like St. Paul, Santa Monica, St. Francis, Cathedral, Serra (gardena), Dominguez, Gahr, and Downey…at this level they can compete and win not only division titles but the state title also. Make sense now does it eastsider..

  • Joe Amat

The ignorance on this board sometimes makes me chuckle. You give examples of ” Tesoro, Mission Viejo, Long Beach Poly, Lakewood, San Clemente, and Edison”.

Amat took the 4700+ student LB Poly (they better be able to reload) to the final minute when they were the best in the Nation and Hags was in his 1st year, Tesoro is too new to predict if they run the course of typical new schools, Edison hasn’t won a title outright since 1980, San Clemente lost their only final in 1979, Mission Viejo has yet to win in D1 or the Pac 5, and Lakewood has NEVER won a championship!

THESE are your examples of why last years #4 seed and the 09 Serra Champion needs to drop Divisions?

    Realist? No … senseless!

  • AMAT 73

I will ask you one question before we go any further with your typical AMAT hater post. What school do you rep. The reason I ask this of many of the haters is because that will tell a lot of why you have this perspective of AMAT . Maybe because your school has been on the receiving end of many losses at the hands of AMAT .Could be you are from an SGV school and would like to see us dropped so you can come on the blog and rant and rave to the tune of , AMAT got dropped because they can’t hang in the PAC-5 . The reason I ask this of you is why the drop to D-4 . Of the 8 teams you’ve listed we have A , regularly beaten the slime who bowed out of games with us ( do you really think they want us in their division ). B , we’ve beaten Cathedral last season to the tune of 50 something to I really can’t remember but it was 7 I think , C, St Francis who the last couple of times we’ve beaten much to the sadness of many SGV fans who put a lot of hope on them, and finally D , Dominguez who we beat 2 times in our recent games. Why not a drop to D-2 or is that where your team toils and it would just make you miserable to see AMAT right in your face each season come playoff time. Because whether we fail to compete in the PAC-5 according to you because I do know better than that we do make the playoffs even in the PAC-5 . So who is it you root for so we can put this into the proper perspective on where it is you are exactly coming from with this bullshiat. But seeing as you post as “wow” perhaps because of some embarrasment to admit just who your team is I really doubt I will see an answer from you because you just can’t muster up enough courage to make a stand in the name of who you stand by . Also your reason for dropping us just to be able to win titles and state championships says a lot about you and your character. If you can’t win among the best go down to where you know you can dominate and win every year . Hum, sounds kind of familiar don’t you think ??????

  • WOW…

i represent Bishop Amat i graduate class of 94. When Bishop Amat was the best in California in football now they are a first round get knocked out…Elias Zertuche the name look me up..

    enough said im out…

  • Joe Amat

That was a good run for us for sure. I bet you send a thank you card to Rodney, Daylon, Kory, and Ramogi every September. If you don;t – you should (although you made your contributions too – Linebacker if I remember – correct? )

However, your senior year sure didn’t end on a happy note – did it? What do you think is more heartwrenching – A #4 seed losing to Tesoro or the undefeated #1 team in the state losing to Antelope Valley? I’m sure both teams would like to forget… or even better – never forget.

You see Elias that’s what makes us better – not forgetting that it happened – but remembering it could and working even harder to make sure it doesn’t. Dropping down and avoiding competition doesn’t accomplish that at all.

What’s ironic is you should remember Zach’s years very well. He had a 1st round loss top Eisenhower, and a 2nd round exit – then the following year lost to those pesky Antelopes again. 1st Round, 2nd Round, 1st Round… JUST like the last 3 seasons.

What if Amat had dropped divisions then? YOU would never have gathered all the memories you did. NO Reebok Bowl. THAT was reserved for the D1 winner. Then after you were gone your former teammates would not have learned they could bounce back form the disappointing loss to the ‘Lopes and make it to the finals the next year – as heartwrenching as the loss to Mater Dei was (still think they should have run the Hook & Ladder on the final play instead of the Hail Mary in the end zone) The to bounce back and win it all the next year must have been exhilarating. And it NEVER would have happened if we had dropped.

Unfortunately, we wouldn’t be in quite this situation if we didn’t take SUCH a big step back during your former teammates stint as a head coach. You see what I sense a little in what you wrote is a) these guys aren’t as good as we were and b) you’re still a little bitter about how that era ended. See, if I remember you were blindly supportive back in those days and it’s understandably clouding your judgment today.

And you didn’t answer me about how you came up with those examples of Pac5 dominance. They were awful. Care to rebut with something better?

  • AMAT 73

    Joe AMAT,
Now that was a “WOW” post. I would add my 2 cents but I really think it is not needed.

  • Amat Nation is back.

All this talk for a team that hasn’t won a title since 1995? Football season must be around the corner because Amat Nation is running smack already.

  • just askin’

Please list what statements you see that you;s consider “running smack”?

  • WOW…

all im sayin is my alma mater has not lived up to my expectation since coach parades left campus.. i live in the O.C. and have here it all the time how Bishop Amat cant hang with the big boys from the O.C.

  • just askin’

WOW – did you hear that from the Orange Lutheran crowd in 08 or the Mater Dei crowd in 09? They’re still in the OC -aren’t they?
