Whittier Breaking News: La Mirada football coach Mike Moschetti out with pneumonia

La Mirada football coach Mike Moschetti could miss up to a month after being diagnosed with pneumonia over the weekend. La Mirada football coach Mike Moschetti, who guided the Matadores to a CIF-Southern Section title in 2009, it’s first since the early 1990s, is out of action after being diagnosed with pneumonia over the weekend. He was hospitalized one night for observation, but is now resting at home.
La Mirada offensive coordinator Armando Rivas, who is interim coach in Moschetti’s absence, said the Mats coach could be out from a week to a month.
The Matadores, one of the few Whittier area teams to begin fall practice, have gone undefeated in the Suburban League the past two seasons and won the CIF-SS Southern Division title in 2009.

First, hope Coach M gets well soon.

Second, we have 2 guys covering football in the Whittier Area and we get nothing on the teams who have started practice?

Is the level of coverage the Whittier is going to get?

    We need Mr.Murry back….

Whittier Fan, a few teams started practicing Monday, the rest start later. Steve Ramirez will have daily updates from here on out and the Whittier preview football magazine comes out on Aug. 30. With Andrew leaving suddenly, it has taken a few weeks for us to reorganize, especially with our commitment to the prep preview magazine. Believe me, you will read more blog post here on Whittier than you probably did in all years combined on the previous Whittier blog threads…Patience my friend, it’s only Aug. 9. By the time football starts, Whittier will finally have a blog with updated stories four or five times a week, not once or twice a month.

Appreciate the response. Looking forward to the coverage by Steve and his team.

Do me a favor though….let Aram know that Colima does go over the hill into the Whittier Area. Maybe, he’ll finally make a trip over the hill and discover that we do play football over here.

    Whittier Fan,
Growing up in the Whittier area I like reading on the Whittier schools too, but the truth is, a lot of the blame for the lack of blog coverage in your’s and other area’s has to be on the bloggers from those area’s, you guys don’t post much down there. Look at the small numbers of responces on just about every thread on the Whitter blogs.
Now it looks like Fred Aram and Steve are going to do their part on increasing the coverage in the Whittier area but will the bloggers do their part by putting up a decent numbers of post?

    Whittier Area Fan,
Just let Aram know about a few choice eating spots such as Los Sanchez or Chris and Pitts and a few others and you will get more coverage than you ever thought was possible.

Thanks for the idea. Probably the best advice I ever received on any blog I’ve been on. Simple to do and actionable!
