Arroyo RB Peter Aholoka gets the job done

Any fears about Arroyo's running game taking a hit with the graduation of 1,000-yard rusher Mikey Vasquez have been somewhat calmed since the Knights put the pads on and junior Peter Aholoka has been running wild in practice. Aholoka showed signs that he was going to be a good ball carrier throughout the offseason and has driven the point home since the Knights got into full gear.

"I don't know if there's a dropoff, it might be a lateral move," Arroyo coach Jim Singiser said. "Mike could do stuff Peter can't do. He had the ability to make four or five moves in a short amount of time. But Peter can take a 2- or 3-yard gain and turn it into an 80-yard touchdown."

Finding a good ground game to complement quarterback Steven Rivera and the passing game is key for Arroyo if it wants to avoid being one-dimensional and putting all the pressure on Rivera.

Arroyo opens the season on Sept. 2 against Ontario.

Nice, that's great news, we can always count on someone stepping up. I hope to get to see the Knights a few times this year, go out and play hard. Go Knights
