Tribskin Pick'em, your predictions and ours
This year's Tribskin Pick'em will match Aram and I going head-to-head picking games throughout the season, with the loser owing the winner dinner in December. I went head-to-head with Ramirez the previous four years, going 3-1 against him. Aram's the next victim, and the first weekend is here. If you think you can do better, keep your own running total and compare against ours.
This week: Aram, in kind of a shocker, took Covina over West Covina in Saturday's standing-room only game at the District. I think it will be closer than I first thought, but I still give the edge to West Covina. We also disagree on the Smudge, Aram taking Bonita while I'm going with San Dimas. We both agree that Charter Oak will take care of Glendora.

NonSense,
Apparently the "analogy" of the short rims and avoiding competition was lost on you so I won't help explain. Seems you not only played on the short rims at school - but took the short bus to get there.
Teams are built with 3, sometimes four classes. Some years you have a lot of seniors and some years you don't. Sometimes your players are multiple sport guys who go on to play at the next level in another sport - and sometimes they sign a major league contract like Wallace Gonzales.
What I will do, is challenge you to match this list of players who played at the next level last season with the numbers of players from any other school in the SGV. In fact, I'd bet you could take any 4 year period over the last 40+ years and compare the number of players playing at the next level with any school in the area

Notsince1995, for a guy who professes to work in facts, you don't follow along too well...regardless of what the other blogger wrote, you took that as an opportunity to belittle and mock the continuing educational goals of student athletes. You're a jerk. If you want to play cat and mouse with other grown men and women on the blog by all means do so, but don't do it at the expense of High School Athletes who play for fun and play to hopefully further their education (no matter at what level). Be a MAN and ACT LIKE ONE!

When an idiot like Obi Wan writes this, then he's gonna get called out and challenged:
"That's right. Stay in your little valley and pretend your "winning". Play on the short rims instead of the court with the big guys so you look "good". Take easy classes to improve your GPA. Ask that band girl to the Prom - she'll say yes -you wouldn't want to risk talking to the Homecoming Queen. Go to Cal Poly - not Harvard - you wouldn't want to challenge yourself. And pick an easy major -We all know employers would rather hire someone that got good grades at a State school than anyone that got B's at an Ivy League school."
.
.
By the way anon y. mous, Obi Wan hasn't had the pair to respond, so I'll do it for him:

Mount San Antonio Community College...!

That's not even close to Cal Poly and certainly not in the same breath as Harvard. Is it...anon y. mous?

Gutless NoSense never learned you don't answer a question with a question. C'mon coward - address the comments directed to you. What? You can't?
Notsince1995 - Which ever SCHOOL they went on to it's apparently farther than you ever got. Are you really on a Blog belittleing student athletes because they didn't go on to play major college football like 85-90% of all student athlete football players? You're a real piece of work Mr. nonsense. What a JERK!
Obi Wan The HUT
.
Where did your 2010 Defensive Player of the Year go to school this fall...? Wasn't even good enough for Cal Poly, was he? A State school...!
.
Where did any of your 2010 Pac 5 "participating" players go to play ball at after they finished at Amat...?...Where...?
C'mon...You know where...! Tell everyone else where they're at! What...? Louder, Obi Wan...! Spell it out: Name and School. Lets see that proud Amat list...

A local San Gabriel Valley Man is in intensive care this afternoon after what doctors called a freak accident during a normal corrective surgery.
The man only identified as NOTSINCE1995 had gone into the Ronald McDonald School Of Drive Thru Surgery for treatment of excessive hemorrhoids when the accident occurred. The doctors are still trying to piece together what exactly happened but from statements given it appears that during the hemorrhoid removal he was given a labotomy. The stunned lead surgeon was quoted as saying " In the history of medicine he has to be the only one with his brain in there ! "
More information will be reported as it becomes available...
Cupcake? Garfield was Eastern League champions and undefeated at 6-0. Orange Lutheran didn't think they were cupcakes when they found themselves in a 10-3 battle at halftime. The same Orange Lutheran team that beat CIF Champs La Habra the week before. Kennedy got smacked 42-14 by that cupcake in the City Playoffs and Kennedy's no cupcake - they were on the mighty Servite Friars schedule, and we know they play no cupcakes after their 25 year wait for a championship - right? I know Carson didn't think Garfield was a cupcake when they found themselves down in the next round before winning 29-13, not exactly a blowout by the mighty Carson Colts, who also beat Mater Dei and Taft. For sure Time Warner doesn't think they are cupcakes - after all they chose to televise one of their games.
No, teams like Gardena, University, and Pioneer now they are cupcakes , LA Times said so, when talking about one of our favorite Fish Bowl Tournament "champions" pre-league schedule. LOL!
BlahBlahBlahsince1995-I feel like I just read your very first post, probably because they are all the same! You truly are the class clown.

Poor, poor Ayala fans!!! Cant stand to see anybody look down on your mutts!! What we ALL problably want to know is" Whats gonna be your excuse or smacktalk when Ayala does lose"? Cause i know several of the people on this board who are VERY credible bloggers who have actually SEEN Diamond Bar !
Wait! realstenchsince1995 picked Amat to lose? What a shocker! What insight this guy has? This is truly a guy who knows his stuff! You are the pundit of the century "real stench since1995"! We can always count on you for fresh, new and insightful postings!!!

.
The CUPCAKE GAME OF THE WEEK (don't forget your Blue Cups all you tailgaters!):
Garfield at the BishopNation: Garfield to gain 200 yards rushing, keeps the ball away from the Lanceritos offense and upsets the Lanceritos by 7. I predict 28 - 21 Garfield HS Bulldogs. If I'm wrong, I still win cus its a CUPCAKE game...!

.
Lanceritos, don't dehydrate chasing the Bulldogs around on that thing you call a football field...

@bigdog
agreed. Diamond Bar will show their true colors - losing
28-21
That uniform rule is a CITY Section rule...not a SOUTHERN Section rule - so they could wear pink if they wanted to (as Cathedral did vs Amat last year)
Fred,
My upset of the week is Ayala over Diamond Bar. After this game your going to see how over rated DB has been all summer. The BIGDOG knows. Follow the BIGDOG
Hope those uni's are actual team colors. Shame to see the this happen again:
-- L.A. school gets probation for illegal uniforms donated by Nike. (LA Times)

http://rivals.yahoo.com/highschool/blog/prep_rally/post/L-A-school-gets-probation-for-illegal-uniforms-?urn=highschool-291846
Call to all Covina fans for Saturday we are bringing out our new uniforms for this battle and the attire for the night is to wear something black. Support Covina!!!!
Football season kicks off this week, let the games begin. I actually agree with Fred's picks.
Agree with most of Aram's takes. In a close game you look at special teams. Bonita has been exceptional there in the last several years and then there is their kicking game!!!! Because of that edge to BoHi.
