Friday’s games and predictions
Story: Bishop Amat 28, Damien 7 — It was a 7-7 game at half, then the Lancers scored three second-half touchdowns and picked Spartans quarterback Gage Pucci three times. Jalen Moore rushed for 191 yards and Rio Ruiz threw for 142 yards and three touchdowns.
Story: Rancho Cucamonga 21, Charter Oak 13– For all those who kept saying the Chargers would get blown out, they showed they can compete with the Inland’s best. Nothing to be ashamed of. They didn’t win their step up, but they didn’t take a step back either.
Story: Covina 42, Walnut 6 — Colts keep on rolling, but there is bad news. Quarterback Billy Livingston suffered a shoulder injury and left for the hospital. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that he’s OK.
Story: West Covina 20, Glendora 19 — The Tartans missed a 25-yard field goal with five seconds left that would have won it. What is that, three times the Bulldogs have escaped in the final minute? Either it’s a pattern or that’s what champs do — just win baby.
Story: San Dimas 31, Monrovia 14 — With or without McCarthy, this is a big win for the Saints at MTown, beating the defending champs in their own backyard. Plus, the Saints won without Dillon Corona, so both teams missed star players. For those keeping score, San Dimas leads the overall series 3-2 dating back to 2009.

Bonita 50, Marshall 22 — Nice win for the Cats’ after a couple close losses. Maybe they’re Hacienda contenders after all.
Claremont 30, Rowland 20 — Raiders made a game of it, but the bottom line is the Wolfpack are 4-0.
Brea Olinda 34, Diamond Bar 6 — Yes, this was a step-up game for the Bahamas, but you wish they would have competed better. See Charter Oak if you don’t know what I mean.
Sierra Vista 21, Keppel 14 –– A competitive game for both teams, and a must-needed win for the Dons going into the Montview.
South El Monte 28, Nogales 16 — Someone reported back that the Tribune isn’t showing the Eagles any love or respect for their early season wins. Like everyone else, we didn’t see it coming.
Baldwin Park 26, San Gabriel 22 — Braves win again, but have a long way to go to compete with the big boys of the Valle Vista.
Chino Hills 37, Pomona 6 — I heard the score could have been much worse, but I get it, the Huskies were ready to beat up on someone after losing the way they did to Tesoro.
La Puente 28, Wilson 13 — Let’s be clear, the Warriors, not the Aztecs, are the Montview League favorites.
Los Altos 21, Ayala 17 — You wanted proof, here it is, over a Sierra League and Inland team. Yes folks, the Conquerors are back.
El Monte 35, Gladstone 0 – Mark my words, the Lions will be a contender in the Mission Valley.
Rosemead 23, San Marino 14 — Panthers hand San Marino its first loss. With Rosemead, Arroyo, El Monte and South El Monte, the MVL is legit. Now when’s the last time I wrote that?
Hart 42, Arroyo 17 — Knights lose a game that was delayed more than an hour because of lighting. SGV teams never fare well in that other Valley.
Don Lugo 30, Azusa 14 — Stepping up the schedule hasn’t worked out for the Aztecs.
Chino 23, Northview 0 — Vikings have a rough time on the road, but Chino’s good, real good.
Rancho Alamitos 43, Ganesha 7 –– Giants are no match.
