The South El Monte-Arroyo game was moved to Thursday night, listen to Aram and I discuss it on the two-minute drill. Tomorrow we’ll discuss Covina vs. San Dimas.

Actually in MVL play, every year there is at least one game where it is played on a Thursday night, it is not uncommon, it just happens to be this big game. Plus, you’re YouTube description states it was recorded on September 16, 2011, I don’t think you guys would have known the records of both teams that early ;)

Sounds like a setting on the flip camera that gets uploaded with the video.

the 2nd to last time SEMHS played at Arroyo, 2009 was a blowout loss (under “RJ Hernandez” supreme skill set as coach).

I wonder if SEMHS pulls out a victory, what will Jim Singiser say this time, cause I remember you, Fred, interviewing him, and in so many words, he blamed the assistant coaches, referring to the 2007 game.

(i know this is all irrelevant because most if not all the players have since graduated both schools, but I thought it might still be interesting to bring up, since it is archived in this very blog)

Remember guys that Arroyo had to play way to hard against La Canada and only came out with a 2 point 4th quarter victory so I do believe that South El Monte is going to give them a much harder time than La Canada so be prepared for the so-called upset.

My math was off. Combined record of Arroyo’s wins are: 6-24. I left off the Mountain View win.

Aram I think you may be off because I counted there opponents have a combined 11 wins. (source Cal Preps).

ObservantCat, what are you talking about, South El Monte had to escape an upset at Gabrielino this past friday. 13-10 is not a great way to start off league play and think you are going to rock Arroyo. SEM needed a complete meltdown from temple city before they scored and came back with the lead, while I recall Arroyo had that game over pretty quick with very few mistakes on both teams.
