What a great start for SGV girls volleyball, both the Sierra and Montview Leagues swept through the first round, both going 4-0. You might expect that from the Sierra, but the Montview? Great stuff. In fact, in 17 matches, we have 14 teams moving on.

Bishop Amat wins: The South Pasadena High School volleyball team was on the verge of taking control of Tuesday’s CIF-Southern Section Division 2AA first-round playoff match against Bishop Amat. Not once, but twice. But the Lancers, the second-place team from the Del Rey League, responded with a pair of runs and scored a three-game sweep, 25-22, 25-19, 25-15
San Dimas wins: Good teams find a way to win, even on an off-night. San Dimas High School proved that by beating Rosemead 21-25, 25-14, 25-13, 25-22 in an opening-round game of the CIF-Southern Section Division 3A volleyball playoffs at The University of La Verne on Tuesday.
