It would be awesome to see 3 Hacienda in the Semis.

It happened yrs. ago in the old Sierra league.

  • CO Bro

Come on Freddy you know where you need to be next week! Biggest game of the year will be in Upland!

  • Fred Robledo

Yeah, I already told Aram that’s my game…If Charter Oak can pull this off, and they’ve got a shot, I think it goes down as one of their biggest, if not biggest wins ever. Look, area coaches and ADs voted Charter Oak out of the Southeast Division because they didn’t want to face them, and wanted to see the Chargers humbled in the Inland …Well, they weren’t humbled at all Friday, they were as good as advertised. And a win over Upland would certainly quiet the Inland doubters and send shockwaves throughout football in the Southland. I was on with Beto Duran on ESPN last night, and he was asking about Charter Oak and their chances….I said, don’t count them out, they got a shot, no matter how great Upland has looked for 11 weeks.

  • shfan

I wouldn’t be surprised if Fred decides to sit in the stands at Bishop Amat crying about what could have been.

  • http://uplandfan@yahoo.com upland fan

I’m glad we are playing CO, now we get the tribune covering our game. If Upland brings its A game, there is no way CO will upset us. I will admit that was a HUGE statement CO made with their win over Santiago.

They couldn’t beat Rancho and the won’t beat Upland.

  • Fred Robledo

Is that was you did this week shfan?

  • Fred Robledo

Upland, compare scores all you want, Rancho needed a miracle to beat Chino Hills, the same team Charter Oak worked the week before. It’s all about how you’re playing now, not in Week 1, not in Week 7, now….And yes, we’ll be there, and trying to convince the Inland Insider and Mike the Cousin to join me…And since its Friday and most are off, we’ll probably all be there….Can’t wait.

  • http://uplandfan@yahoo.com upland fan

Fred, your doing the same. Don’t compare the Rancho win over Chino Hills and compare that to us. The way Rancho played against Chino Hills has no meaning to Upland. Our team is getting stronger each week

Upland finally opened up its offense now that its CIF and the game was over in the 1st qtr. Our defense is playing great and I don’t see Charter Oak giving us much problems.

I agree CO is much improved and are a lot better than the team who almost lost to Glendora…

  • football fan

It is very hard to compare scores to judge your opponent, It took a miracle for RC to beat Chino Hills. We played like we read the headlines and predictions cant do that.

I think CO has steadily improved all year and looks really good right now. Early season games mean nothing I like what one blogger said, It only matters how you are playing this week not week 2 or 3..

Upland is very good, and to beat them you need to play a perfect game, meaning no turnovers or penalties and even then you might not beat them.
Upland can run and pass and play good dee when needed. I am very interested in this matchup.
I think it will be one heck of a game..

  • http://rgd2626 rgd2626

    Fred,
I know i will not get much support but Los Altos deserves for Mike to be there. You talk about a (story).Any other team we could of said, well maybe, well they have a chance, but not LA.Zero including myself thought they could do what they have done.
P.S.- Can you say coach of the year?

  • patrick gabb

dont forget the always unpredictable wildcard of wildcards Diamond Ranch…They always seem to fight their way into the hunt

  • Chino hills husky

Thanks tribune staff: We went out on top with our best game yet unfortunatly it took 10 games and 1quitting RB and 2injured RBs to figure out we can throw the ball ,but our boys came out and couldnt beat the referees and the broken time clock. I guess RC prayed harder then us. Lol Thanks for covering us this season we appreciate all your staff improving every year! Its hard to say this but go CO, do some damage and dont leave any opportunity for the referees to beat you. the inland referees are pretty suspect just watch our game film and see. I just ask for anyone who knows out there? Question: with 6.3 seconds left and RC has the ball with no time outs, they get called for offsides….shouldnt the game be over? But instead they added 3 seconds to the clock 6.9. After the offensive offsides…the referees held the ball and waited for the qb to get under center and let him spike then stopped clock? I just need some clarification please….go smash the U!

  • Fred Robledo

Here is something to think about, semifinal coin flips already on CIF website. The two big games we’re anticipating should they occur, would be West Covina-Arcadia and Covina-Monrovia….Both games would be in Tribland, West Covina and Covina would have the home games….

  • SGV FOOTBALL

    Fred,

You know where to send Mike the Cousin! No one will play a game of this magnitude in the Valley this year and have a very good chance at winning. There are many people that have become believers. I have a feeling that our crowd will be the same size if not bigger than the Upland crowd…

  • Fred Robledo

I agree, Mike the Cousin, Tom Kiss and myself will all be at Upland. Both already have confirmed with me….Aram will be at Arroyo-San Gabriel….

  • Go Scots

There should be no question as to what the game of the week should be. Upland – Charter Oak hands down. It’s the match up the SGV has been waiting for. To all the CO bloggers we can talk trash all week long on the blogs or just let the kids settle it on the field. I’ll let you decide, ether way we will be ready for you.

  • 12th man

    Fred,
Can we get the stats from Arroyo game (Rivera)?? Is he closing in on 40 TD’s????

  • JMO

    Chino Hills Husky,
CO has also been jobbed by the RC time keeper, if there is a hall of fame he is in it for sure. I was told that they ran nine plays with 36 seconds and no time outs on the last drive, Bill Walsh just rose from the dead to get that playbook errrrrrr time keeper.

  • Conq’76

Sure, I understand Charter Oak v. Upland, love to be there myself, and W. Covina Arcadia, but will SOMEBODY from the Trib be covering LA v. La Serna live?

  • http://rgd2626 rgd2626

    O’well I tried !!!

  • chino hills husky

jmo : it was pretty bad 30 seconds lasted 15 mins…the tried running out of bounds and we stopped them twice and referees stopped clock for them any way to let them get in stance for spike. total BS and after the hail mary pass their QB rushed our sideline talking trash like it takes skill to close your eyes and throw the ball on the air? lol…no class! i got one thing to say REV!

  • JMO

    Chino Hills Fan,

I played college ball with REVS head coach and he is geared up for them, their D will punish the cocky QB.

  • http://rgd2626 rgd2626

    Fred
Go ask Lou if he wins friday if that would be his biggest win, telling you now, the answer is no!!!
    CIF championships are more important.

  • Fred Robledo

I agree that CIF titles are more important on the resume, but in terms of big picture, or what those outside the fishbowl think of SGV football, you don’t think that defeating undefeated Upland is bigger than beating Diamond Ranch back-to-back in title games, a Diamond Ranch team that hovered around .500?

  • Fish Bowl NON FAN

Fred…I see you’re falling into the same trap so many do when discussing, or is dismissing, Diamond Ranch’s back to back Finals run. They beat a very athletic Muir team who beat them earlier, if I’m not mistaken, beat a South Hills team with Deen, Bowden and other very storied players for South Hills Beat a West Covina team that had the blue print for what is now the possible “next” back to back Finals winner and along the way were underdogs game after game after game. And then did it again the next year “without their D1 studs!!! Not getting in coaching philosophies or right or wrong coaching decisions but DR “earned” every one respect as Bonita did last year and West Covina has this year…W/L records notwithstanding.

As far as what the bloggers in the Fish Bowl (a term I coined), believe that has more to do with the “writers” than the fans, players or schools than any thing else. I should know a Fish Bowl seeing as I KNEW why I was using that term.

In “typical” grandiose, or aggrandising, fashion you’re saying CO, who’s put on an offensive display of epic proportions, would accomplish something “outside” itself (hence the Fish Bowl assertion) if it beat a team that just happens to be further East of an “imaginary” boundary (I.E.)….wow if that isn’t Fish Bowl think I don’t know what is.

I jsut read where you also said “local coaches and ADs voted CO out so they would be humbled”..not really…most area coaches (again with the Fish Bowl mentality) thought CO had out grown the division…or did area ADs/Coaches also want SH to get a slice of that Humble Pie? Hey you have to sell papers right? The irony is almost all coaches and ADs respect and admire each other on professional and personal levels.

The way I see the Upland game is simple…Santiago is being looked at by a Pac 12 school in UCLA, as are a few players if the rumors are true, so why would CO go in at any disadvantage? Win or lose the CO athletes/Coaches are on an even playing field as CO’s history has shown recently…10-1 coming out of the Sierra League…come on now!

To be clear the Fish Bowl label has taken on an unintended use as more and more Bishop bloggers are dismissing our local teams but the Fish Bowl concept is all about the perception that all that matters, good or bad, is what “we (Fred /Aram) want us to think/know and subscribe to.

To paraphrase an idiot liar of God-like abilities to twist the truth to suit his needs…

“there are knowns we know, knowns we don’t know, don’t knowns we don’t know about and don’t know abouts we know…in other words…we are the caretakers of the knows and unknows…the Fish Bowl makers and the Fish Bowl breakers.

No disrespect to the Bishop Qb but while we were fawning all over him Santiago. I’m sorry “DOS” and Rivera. opps “DIEZ”, might be playing their last game.

All in all I hope this breaks up the Fish Bowl-centric “writers block” you guys suffer from.

Any one can write…having something to say is difficult.

  • http://www.insidesocal.com/tribpreps/2011/11/cif-ss-quarterf.html#comments DAY OF RECKONING has ARRIVED for CO and its fans–

Ya’ll can say what you want, compare stats etc etc but throw it all out the window…….. Just plain get ready for the butt whooping to shut all the nay sayers in the SGV that Charter Oak is just a cast off out of our INLAND EMPIRE DYNASTY !!! UPLAND not only will win but they will win big !!! ENJOY the view from the ground boys– ALL NIGHT LONG

  • football fan

    Chino Hills,

You can cry all you want about the clock, but on a first down the clock stops untill they set the ball. Talking about RC timekeeper do the same to CO is hilarious, we played at covina this year and we were up at the end of the game last year and did not need the clock..

You Chino Hills fans can cry all you want, but bottom line we gift wrapped that game for you and you did not accept the gift, so we took it back. Sore losers now have to root for REV, because you could not do the job..

Our QB is class less and played a horrible game and had one lucky throw and he thinks he is all that..He is embarrasing, because the rest of the boys do not have his bad attitude. He will have to learn the hard way I guess.

  • Panther Fan

My predictions for the Southeast Division

For the first round I was 6 wins 2 losses
    missing Pasadena over California
    and Arcadia over Bonita

    This week my picks are

    West Covina over Pasadena
    La Mirada over Arcadia
    Los Altos over La Serna
    Diamond Ranch over Muir

  • Ed

C’mon Fred, throw the Conq’s a bone. I get the let’s jump on the charger wagon. I get it! But those kids are just as deserving if not more. A simple shout out on Arams show is just not good enough. Or are we waiting for the “And the Coach of the Year goes to Ziola” blog. Spread the love Fred! Go SGV Football!!!

  • the Inland fan

Fred is correct.this is charter oaks biggest game. this is there first crack at an undefeated contender.at the moment it is hard to tell how good they really are.the teams they beat are not even near the level of corona centenial , vista murrietta ,upland and Rev. winning this game would put them up with the elite and would be good for sgv football.

  • Lions and Tigers and Scots…OH MY !!!

“Fred is correct”…stop right there! Is it common for teams to put up 50 points in a Sierra league game? How about 60 in the playoffs? How about 60 in the Inland Division playoffs? Is it common for teams that score almost at will to be afraid of any one? So I trust Upland has done the same thing? If CO loses it will no different than Loyola losing or Covina beating the invincible West Covina last year. Now when Upland gets pushed up the Pac 5 and faces Servite will that be an equal challenge and step up game? Seriously now, CO will show up and play and it should be a good game, hopefully a great game. Nothing else needs to be said that borders on Davis and Goliath-isms.

Santiago is mobile, has a cannon for an arm, is a three year starter and has options galore to hand off to and throw to…why is this so out of reach for CO.

Some of the things people say on here really lack make you wonder. Next thing you’ll say is Upland will petition CIF to enter the Trinity League…yeah right!

  • Pomona Family

    Fred,

If Aram wants to talk to UCLA about Travis Santiago, tell him to call Coach Rice. UCLA has been at a Pomona game and at the school multi times. Interesting how UCLA is REALLY looking at another local kid and this kid gets totally over looked by the tribune.

  • Bonita fan

Game of the week for SGV is the Upland vs Charter oak game but will be going to San Dimas vs Azusa to show support to BUSD High School.
Impressed with the Los Altos win this week would love to see a rematch with Diamond Ranch in the Semi.

To Pomona fan. Well the good thing about playing at Monrovia last Friday is that there were 5 Pac 12 Scouts on the sidelines and in the stands looking at not only McCarthy but a few others as well. This would have been the spotlight any of the players you are mentioning or not mentioning to be a part of.

where you at and who’d you play good info..you forgot about Arcadia, who is 108. Muir 178. Well speaking from a midvalley standpoint…out of all the teams left Monrovia has played the most ranked teams in the division. South Pas beat a Alhambra a quarter finals sqaud. You see How San Marino(who is returning everyone) played San Dimas…. That’s why I like mtown chances to win the division again…..No other Midvalley team has put their record on the line with preseason scheduling. League games, teams have no control over. The rio hondo did have a good showing in the playoffs thus far…All that adversity pays off in the end. Will Monrovia beat WCHS and Covina…no one knows for sure, but…they have tough game experience under their belt…which helps alot. Other teams have played tough games as well and you can see it help them as well…

    Monrovia
    Arcadia 108
    San Dimas 111
    South Hills 137
    Glendora 125
1st Round playoff win Pomona(toughest 1st round game in Midvalley)

    Covina
    West Covina 51
    San Dimas 111

    **San Dimas**
    Covina 98
    Bonita 132
    Monrovia 121

It was a Great effort from the Bishop Amat football team this year. I still don’t understand the idiot haters, most of them are miserable and ignorant… you know who you are! Below is the reason why Amat will continue to play in D1 football, no matter what any idiot thinks. Historically, we own the Pac5, the numbers dont lie. This is also the reason we are the dominant team in the SGV, if you want your kid to be the best, then he needs to play against the best (Pac5), period. Amat plays anyone, anytime, anywhere, and we bow to no one! Good luck to CO, WestCo, LA, Arroyo, and Covina. Long shots are San Gabriel and Arcadia.

    Amat record Vs. Your Team:

    Loyola 22-9
    Crespi 10-3
    Alemany 14-3
    Mater Dei 19-15
    St. J B 11-5
    SM 3-4
    Servite 15-16
    CO 2-1
    St. Paul 26-14
    Damien 22-4
    Rancho C 2-0
    LB Poly 6-4
    MV 2-0

  • oldschool

@jerry the U.I agree that the inland is up to par with the pac 5 at the top,but if you are talking about how tough a division is you got to compare the mid to lower seeds in the bracket also.. by the way only vista murrietas win looks impressive now. mater dei did not make the playoffs, crespi did not make playoffs, alemany and loyola lost 1st round, tesoro was a third place team. no inland division team has played servite, santa margarita,st john bosco, long beach poly , san clemente who are still in the playoffs and are much improved from the beginning of the season. servite is still the top team in the southern section with only a loss to number 8 in the nation bishop gorman by a field goal as time expired.servite also had there best running back etiaki out for most of there schedule.

    @Chino Hills husky

Typical CHHS… blame the refs. I suppose other than the refs bad calls you played a FLAWLESS game. Uh huh…. yeah right. How about hold a lead? Your team didn’t make a single mistake in the last say 6 minutes of the game? Face it, your team is not as good as you thought they were. I know it’s hard to accept since you get the lion’s share of talent in the city… but beyond a few Sierra League titles, you have nothing to show for all that talent. Take away a couple D1 players this year and you’re mortal… imagine that. LOL.

While you’re complaining about the refs, why don’t you ask ‘ol Coach Roche about his winning a championship against Upland on a 5th down… Yep, it took the refs giving them a 5th down to win. Didn’t see him refuse his chumpionship ring or trophy. You win some on calls and you loose some on calls. It sucks, but it is what it is so build a bridge and get over it.

It’s friendly now…but it won’t be next week. It’ll be personal. But for now, enjoy your turkey.

Upland is in for the shock of their lives.

You have not seen speed like the Charter Oak Chargers speed!

Big and Slow will not work in 2011! Our offense is too complex, our QB too good, and then their is our RB! How will you stop our offense? No way to stop it!

  • Paul Revere is not Observant Cat.

I am not observant cat…he is a respectable mtown blogger and has a great rep on here…I am Paul Revere, I ride Red Colts, I don’t reason with them…, Honestly I think the Colts are the Most Overrated team in the midvalley and San Dimas…It used to be the wildcats, But after the cats held Pomona to 7 pts I think they showed their ready,,,the red devils avg 22 pts vs the top two teams in the Valley Vista…The Playoffs are here the playoffs are here…After this week there won’t be any El montes, South or east or north…so cup cake time is over it’s time to get to the “Fat Meat”…hope you don’t choke….pressure pressure pressure…Don’t Count the Moors out at Home…Mtown has a tough Whittier Christian team ahead…another tough game…Lol…Lets go 91016.

  • Football Fan

    Unseen speed,

Be careful who you call out.. CO is very talented and I believe will give Upland a run for the money..But let me correct you on a couple things, Upland has tons of speed and size. They have as much talent on the offense or more than CO..If both teams play their A game it might just come down to the last team with the ball.

I would love to see CO beat Upland,so I am rooting for CO, but I think Upland still wins..

  • So that’s the size needed!!

cant believe the size of these linemen!!! but I guess that is what it take to be #13 and #21 in the nation, in front of 30,000 people for a 2nd round playoff game

  • Richard Revere

    Paul Revere,

I’m sure what you RIDE is red but you are probably the only one that calls it a COLT.
    Just saying!
But hey, call it what ever you want.

They are saying rain possible for Thursday and Friday now. Remember what happened the last big game you had in the rain?
Be sure to hold on tight to those balls. Or do you call them something else too?

But that banner sure does look good over at San Dimas!

  • http://uplandfan@yahoo.com upland fan

    Unseen speed…

You obviously have not seen Upland play this year. We are decent size but not big at all. We are very fast, there has been no team out there that has been able to run around us. To much speed.. so that arguement is no good.

Your defense will have no answer for Uplands offense, its gonna be a high scoring game and our stud defensive ends will have no problem getting to Santiago. We will have more stops on defensive that will give us the win…

Where was the speed you guys had when you played glendora?

  • Memoirs of Paul Revere

Richard Revere…we got our own banner now…either way…don’t wish for someone to beat Monrovia…do your own dirty work…Don’t worry…we will be right there…don’t worry…didn’t see Monrovia’s back had 200 against Ptown….we can run the ball in the rain…either way…the playoffs are here the playoffs are here. pressure pressure pressure…Covina should smash, Alhambra…but if it rains…everyone has to play in it…i hop you are not comparing this years WC team to the 2009 San Dimas team? That team was better than this years Covina team…you know why..bc they won it. Any how…I would wish you all luck, but you all are not going to need it vs the moors.. any how…we ready!

  • GoAmat

WIN OR LOSE, WE ARE AMAT!!! GOOD JOB BOYS. LET’S SEE IF CO OR WC WILL PLAY US NEXT YEAR. DON’T THINK SO! GOOD LUCK IN BASEBALL RIO!!!

  • interested but not vested …

First of all I am a neutral party but very intrigued by this matchup … Both schools have players and great coaching…However, I pick Upland to beat CO… They have too much big game experience… Santiago is the better of the two QB’s, Advantage Charter Oak..but Romine has only thrown 2 picks this season…so he manages well… and I don’t think Santiago is going to want to run around against this fast upland defense… Santiago and Scoby are the only two Backs with TDs for CO…That makes them 1 dimensional in a sense…Meaning you shut down Scoby and make Santiago run…If he is the primary runner..then CO Can’t score as quickly…and hits accumulated affect throws. Santiago has not seen D ends like this…3 secs to throw….that’s it…I just don’t see the DB’s at CO Staying with Lawler and company… Lawler will be guarding gilchrist, so that’s a push…Bobo may have some openings to be productive…..but Vaughns CO’s best Cover guy will have to lock up with lawler…advantage Upland…then on the backside…who from CO is going to guard Mosely? Abron and Scoby are comparable, however Abron has Powell blocking for him…and in this game you are going to need a lead blocker…I have not see CO in any power sets…If CO is going to beat Upland, They are going to have to run straight at Dukes and the LB Core…they are not going to be able to run away from them…plus CO will need to be able to run in short yardage situations…will they bring a power running game friday night…if they can get the run going they will get the pass going as well..Charter oak will have to be more discipline in the secondary too…Thropay seems to over pursue and misplay things from time to time…He hits, he is fast…But will he play pass first in this game ? Will he help out his smaller corners deep? CO is going to have to play their best game to date….this team is a lot better than Rancho, and the two bottom Corona schools…This game is going to be closer than people expect…CO knows how to score, but they haven’t prove they can get the big stop against top inland comp 28-35 pts seams to be the avg against the decent teams they have played..On their best night against upland they won’t get more than 31 pts… so the big stop…that will be the challenge, and one thing that this seasons outcome will depend on…. If Upland sticks to their power running game …Upland has that Or Abron would not have 28 tds and the FB powell has 7…that means upland has a power game…That’s what separates these two…and that what separates the Champions in the division from the quarter finalist..

Upland 28 Charter oak 21 (OT)

  • Richard Revere

    Paul Revere,

“…we got our own banner now..”
They made a mini version for in your bedroom? WE?

“….we can run the ball in the rain…either way…”
There is that WE again. Cool! It would suck if you could only run it ONE WAY! LOL!
    And YOU suit up too?

” i hop you are not comparing this years WC team to the 2009 San Dimas team?”
i hop? Are you thinking of pancakes? LOL!

“you know why..bc they won it.”
    bc?
What does Boston College have to do with anything?

    “we ready!”
Well then, WE HAPPY! What position are you playing?

  • LA Conq

Fred! You’re avoiding the question that has been asked by multiple Los Altos folks!

WILL THERE BE SOMEONE AT THE LOS ALTOS GAME???

These boys deserve this! They have done more with less than any team in the SGV. Like everyone else…I get the love affair with CO. They deserve that as well. But if you plan to have THREE people go cover the CO game then please be prepared to send someone to the other games as well.

By the way…Ziola = Coach of the Year? This should be a LOCK!!

  • GoAmat

Good luck Los Altos! And good luck on them covering your game! CO and WC will cry if they’re not the talk of the town. You might have a chance to make the front page of the sports section if you lose. Othen then that. These other schools get mad if they’re not the talk of the town. Ask AMAT.

  • CO Bro

interested but not vested, very good breakdown of the two teams, I agree with most everything you said with the exception of one thing. If you think three seconds is not enough time for Santiago to be effective, take a look at the Chino Hills tape. Travis was nursing a badly sprained ankle (at least that’s what were were led to believe) and the offense was adjusted to compensate for his immobility. Nothing but three step drops and the ball was out of his hands in three seconds or less, and we all know the outcome of that game. I believe this is going to be a shoot out and as you said, the last one with the ball may be the team advancing to the next round. Good luck to Upland.

  • Cong ’76

Okay, if there is no other option, I volunteer to cover LA v. La Serna this week. I covered a couple of games for the Tribune a few years ago, Basset v. Norwalk and LA v. Long Beach Wilson. I have a computer with wireless internet and can get the story over to the editors soon after the game is over.

    Just putting it out there…

  • interested but not vested …

CO Bro, I am not saying that Travis can’t get the ball off, I am Just saying that he will have to. There won’t be as many scrambling opps this week..Normally Travis can do whatever he wants on the field…But Nursing a bad ankle, he does not want to get it twisted running around. Kurt Scoby is tough, and he is great, but he is going to need help…If you watch upland…they have a few people who carry the ball…CO will need vaughns to run some…and they will need to get a Lead blocker maybe Cordova…the zone read will not work bc upland will overload to the back side and force QB to run..CO will need to execute screens, have some misdirection, and really get creative….the Athletic advantage is null and void….and if their is one…Upland has the edge due to very athletic D line which might get CO in trouble with some holding calls…I think Upland is going to target #3 atkins… He is a very light outside LB/S…Powell is going to push him around…maybe you put Garcia at FS, Move atkins back and put thropay up in the box and let him play backer…he gives the size speed combo to stop uplands power running game…Either way…If CO does not make some personel changes…it’s going to be tough to win. I Pick upland, but I would not be surprised if CO upsets them…Uplands biggest issue will be underestimating to Chargers…the rancho games means nothing…this is a trap game for upland…Cif put them in a tough spot..as confident as upland is CIF still holds vista and Centennial in higher regards…based upon the matchups…oh what the hell…

28-21 to whomever has the ball last in OT after a big stop..

  • Dog Town

When have you ever seen WC cry about anything. Don’t be intimidated by the opponent that lerks in your back yard. We do not cry if we are not the talk of the town. Man!! where did you get that idea. We at WC respect Amat, and CO very much. We all know the History, and we respect that, but you can ony hold on that for so long. So let’s have a little class for other programs that are working hard in the SGV. Isnt That What Amat is all about?

  • Dan

    Dog Town,
    Well said.

Too “GoAmat”, read the three post by you and AmatSGV and tell me who is crying for attention.
This thread has nothing to do with Amat yet you and your Amat buddy feel it was necessary to clamor for attention and spout out your Amat superiority propaganda over WC and CO and the rest of the SGV. There wasn’t even a West Covina poster on this thread until you came on here with your whining.
True, your season is over but it’s no reason to hate on the teams that still have theirs going. Maybe hang a little more with Amat 73 and you’ll learn to have a little class.

  • Fred Robledo

LA Conq, I’m insulted you would even ask. Have we ever NOT covered a CIF-SS quarterfinal game, especially at home? We sent a reporter to Burroughs last week, sorry the story wasn’t the length you wanted.

  • AMAT 73

    GoAMAT,
I have to agree with the WC guys on this one . I have never known the true WC and CO bloggers to come on here crying about coverage. Maybe one hit wonders such as yourself since I have not seen you posting until recently come on here trying to keep the flames of hate going but the real deal posters no way. As Dog Town put there is much respect between our programs so no need for bashing . Face facts CO is the number one rated team in the SGV at this point and rightfully so and WC is not that far behind them . I am not saying they would beat us as that is a different subject but you have to give them props this season because 10-1 speaks volumes . Same with WC who look to be on their way to B to B titles . During the season we all like to jaw on here and go back and forth but it’s playoff time and since we are part of the SGV we should all get behind our teams and back them and leave the shiat talking for next season as it will still be there .

  • Joe Amat

    Dan & 73,

You both know its in vogue for those who are actually being critical of Amat to use Amat in their nickname and then either be so over the top or sarcastic it brings even more unwanted criticism to the Lancers.

If you go back and read his post, this is clearly a case of someone from a school other than CO, WC, or Amat who is upset Amat had a cover story following a loss (“you might have a chance to make the front page of the sports section if you lose”)

And that’s not something an Amat fan would say. It would serve no purpose.

That’s further proven by the next statement that slams CO, WC, AND Amat when they wrote “These other schools get mad if they’re not the talk of the town. Ask AMAT.”

Everyone knows that 99.99% of the WC fans that come here to post are knowledgable football fans and how all schools are successful, in their own right, regardless of level

  • Conq’76

Fred, maybe this is a misunderstanding. I too did not see any story in the Trib except for the blurb in the re-cap talking about how you called LA a dangerous team. What was the headline on the story? I would truly like to read it.
