Boys Hoops: La Verne Lutheran and Pasadena advance to second round in Rose City Classic

In Pasadena's prestigious Rose City Classic knockout tournament, Star-News No. 1 Pasadena defeated Arroyo Valley 80-52 in the first round while the Tribune No. 1, La Verne Lutheran, ripped Sylmar 94-58. That sets up Wednesday's quarterfinal showdowns, with a possible dream matchup of Lutheran and PHS looming on Friday.

Pasadena vs. Leuzinger, 8 p.m.
Friday's semifinals
Roosevelt-Lutheran winner vs. Pasadena-Leuzinger winner, 8 p.m.
