Bishop Amat falls in Covina tournament title game: The Bishop Amat girls basketball team gave a bigger, faster, stronger, more experienced and more athletic Santiago squad everything it could handle before running out of gas late in the fourth quarter.
The Sharks (8-0) outscored the Lancers 16-2 in the last 4:45 of the game to clinch the Covina Tip Off Tournament championship with a 55-39 victory at Covina on Saturday night.

Jody Smith scored 12 points and Bobby Talamantes added 10 to lead the Cavaliers to the tournament title. Garrett Masada scored 20 points to lead the Aztecs. Also coming up big for Keppel was Cameron Wong with 13 points.

Arcadia was led in scoring by Jeffrey Radzwill with 16 points.
Fifth place
Wilson 45, Bishop Amat 41
Matthew Ng scored 11 points and Brandon Miramontes had 10 for Wilson in the victory. Taylor Olvera hit six 3-pointers and finished with a total of 18 points for Bishop Amat.
Seventh-place game
La Salle 66, South El Monte 19
Jordan Hill was the leading scorer for La Salle with 15 points and Steffen Ghantous chipped in with 10 for the Lancers.
11th-place game
Arroyo 66, La Puente 45
Primitivo Gomez led the way for Arroyo with 29 points.
Charter Oak Tournament
Third-place game
Ayala 55, San Gorgonio 28
Josh Ramirez scored 17 points, including three 3-pointers, and added eight rebounds to lead the Bulldogs. Jared Ponce scored 14 points for Ayala.
De La Salle Tournament

De La Salle 43, Damien 39
Elliot Pitts led De La Salle with 22 points to secure the tournament title.
Jared Dizon made three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points for the Spartans.

Arroyo (3-2) was led in scoring by Michelle Trieu with 14 points and Jessica Lupercio added 12 points. Marissa Suarez and Allison Strycula each had 13 points for Charter Oak (3-3).
